Chapter 2947: Awaiting Battle

"Hall Master Carradine, did I handle things okay just now?"

On the way back to the camp, Carson Flores asked Carradine with some concern, since Carradine had a better understanding of Theron Coffey.

Carradine’s eyes showed a trace of worry as he replied softly, "Very well, there were no mistakes. I noticed that the other two showed a look of anticipation upon hearing your identity, clearly they were planning to target you, but since Sect Master your responses were fluent, the captain couldn’t find a reason to penalize you."

Carson Flores’s eyes flashed with a hint of coldness, "It seems entering the camp won’t be peaceful; the Sect’s disciples may even get implicated because of me..."

Without hesitation, Carradine responded, "What kind of implication is that? If Sect Master wasn’t looking out for everyone’s resources, why would you offend them? You could have stayed uninvolved, but you’re in this situation because you care for many disciples. No matter what happens in the future, everyone in the Sect will face it together with Sect Master!"

Carson Flores glanced at Carradine’s serious face, his gaze softened, "Alright!"

Carson Flores did not fear Theron Coffey; worst case scenario, they could go their separate ways.

As for making things difficult?

As long as the tasks don’t go far beyond the capability range of a small squad, it’s not an issue. Carson Flores can assign people from the Ethereal Pagoda if necessary.

A few difficulties won’t suppress Carson Flores.

If Theron Coffey acts openly, Carson Flores is not without connections. He can report to the Army Commander, Norric Shepherd, or even seek out the White Jade Star Lord; he won’t be intimidated by Theron Coffey.

If he uses underhanded tactics to harm him, Carson Flores won’t hesitate to take him down directly.

Squad Captain?

As long as he doesn’t alarm others, his death would be in vain!

Carson Flores has two Quasi-Saints by his side; if caught by surprise, dealing with a Great Land Prime Immortal won’t be difficult.

Carson Flores didn’t boast to Carradine, but inwardly he made up his mind.

As long as these people don’t let him down, he naturally won’t let them down either.

The entire camp is built very large, surrounded by colossal formations; once war breaks out, these formations will support the barriers for the entire camp, protecting everyone within.

The defensive strength of these formations is substantial, even if a Quasi-Saint exerts full power, they can’t break it in one go. During wartime, those adept at Space Divine Power will often break through the defenses alone for sudden surprise attacks. Without the camp protected by formations, they would first attack causing widespread casualties.

An army of ten thousand forms a large camp, with each Sect forming a squad of one thousand. The camps of ten squads are arranged in sequence, separated by a distance and symbolically fenced off.

The Majestic Sect belongs to the Third Squad of the Ninth Battalion. Following the order, Carson Flores found the camp belonging to the Majestic Sect.

Rows of identically standardized houses are laid out on the ground, orderly and neat.

"These houses were crafted by the Seventh Legion’s Artifact Refiners, uniformly standardized. Each house can accommodate eight people; it’s not about lacking resources to make more, but about conserving camp space, as a smaller defensive area of formations means stronger defensive capabilities."

"Additionally, having multiple people in a room ensures mutual oversight during any activities, allowing quick response and preventing someone from isolating themselves for cultivation or busying with other affairs, ultimately neglecting military orders."

Carradine explained, smiling, "Sect Master, as the captain of our Third Squad, you have a single room for your daily rest and office needs."

Carson Flores nodded, expressing satisfaction.

With many secrets on him, sharing space with others would be inconvenient; having a private room suits him well.

"What should we do next?"

Carradine’s gaze swept into the distance and pointed, "Look, some squads haven’t returned yet. Right now, it’s just rest and waiting for the next orders. Of course, we could be called to the battlefield at any moment, so we can’t leave the camp."

Carson Flores nodded, "Alright, then let’s wait."

Within a few days, all ten squads of the Ninth Battalion had returned, making the camp lively with many people moving around, visiting friends.

However, Carson Flores’s Third Squad kept its camp gate tightly closed, with no one going out to wander; even if they did, it was only within the camp area, never stepping out of the gate.

This was the rule set by Carradine.

"Starting now, no one is allowed to leave the camp. For important matters requiring you to go out, you must request leave from me."

"We are here to fight, not to party or feast. So everyone should put away their desire to have fun. Use that time for more cultivation, you might save your life when facing the enemy."

"I’m restraining you for your own good. Otherwise, if trouble arises, it will harm both yourself and others..."
