Chapter 2930: I Can’t Stand Being Wronged!

"Hall Master, by appointing me as the Majestic Sect Master, do you have some specific arrangement for me?"

Norric laughed and said, "Since you’ve come, you ought to have a post and do some work. You’re young—if I put you straight into a high position, not only would others refuse to accept you, you yourself would find it hard to get anything done. If I assign you to lead a team on your own, whatever ability you have, you can put it to use."

He paused, and a faint smile appeared on Norric’s face. "I heard that for two days in a row, you stirred things up at both Section One and Section Two of the Military Supply Office, offended quite a few people?"

Carson Flores looked at Norric in surprise. "Hall Master, you pay attention to such small matters too?"

Norric laughed. "I just casually asked how long you’d been here and what you were up to, and then I heard about it. You’re famous now—pointing at the Compton Family’s noses and making them line up, haha..."

Seeing Norric laughing so heartily, Carson Flores let out a breath of relief. Looks like there’s no trouble.

Carson Flores shrugged and said helplessly, "Our Majestic Sect’s material request was approved long ago, but the Military Supply Office kept dragging it out and wouldn’t give us anything. As Sect Master, of course I have to take responsibility for the Sect’s Disciples. I was just arguing on the basis of reason. At the end of the day, I was borrowing your authority, Hall Master—if you hadn’t personally appointed me, even if I was in the right, they wouldn’t bother with me, and might even mock me a bit on top of that."

Norric nodded. "You did exactly the right thing. But in this matter, I won’t step in, nor will I say anything. Can you understand that?"

Carson Flores smiled. "You and I stand in different positions, so we see things differently. For me, if I don’t fight for it, my Majestic Sect won’t get any supplies. The Disciples will lack resources, and when they finally go onto the battlefield, a lot more might die. So I have to fight for it with everything I’ve got."

"You, Hall Master, hold the office of Commander, so your sights naturally won’t be fixed on a small team. You’re thinking about the overall situation. These people all have meritorious service behind them—though arrogant and overbearing, they still have to go onto the battlefield when the time comes. With a major war around the corner, matters like this are all minor issues. In the end, even if the meat rots, it’s still in the pot."

"If you, Hall Master, personally handled this kind of trivial matter, it would probably stir up all sorts of ripples instead. Besides, this really doesn’t count as a big deal anyway. They’re just picking up their own supplies—they just cut in line, that’s all."

Norric chuckled. "That’s your honest opinion?"

Carson Flores nodded. "Honest opinion. He cuts the line, I bark at him, and it’s over. If he’s not happy and wants to mess with me in private, whatever tricks he’s got, I’ll take them as they come. Worst case, I’ll just poke a hole in the sky."

"I’m not afraid of them making trouble for me. I only have one request: as long as I’m in the right, Hall Master, please don’t sacrifice me for the sake of ’stability’ or any other reason. I’m someone who can bleed, but I just don’t want to swallow grievances."

Norric asked with a soft laugh, "If you really were forced to swallow grievances, what would you do?"

Carson Flores gave a sly grin. "If I can, I’d first kill the oppressive bastard on the other side and then run. If it really can’t be done, I’ll just turn tail and bolt."

Norric’s face hardened. "You’re currently an officer in active service, under the War God Mansion. Desertion is a serious crime..."

Carson Flores stared straight into Norric’s eyes and answered calmly, "Serious crime or not, if I need to run, I’ll run. Ever since I stepped onto the path of Immortal Cultivation, I’ve been offending people and on the run. Back in the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain I offended people too—had no choice, got forced into fleeing to the Crimson Immortal Domain."

Even though Norric stood high above, powerful beyond measure, Carson Flores still had to make these things clear. Otherwise, he’d have no way to peacefully take on the role of Majestic Sect Master.

If someday he clashed with some Compton Family, Roth family, or Bernard Family, and he was clearly in the right while they came down hard on him, yet the Hall Master said nothing, and for the sake of the so-called overall situation chose to wrong him, even to sacrifice him—he couldn’t accept that.

If they could talk things through today, he would stay and serve as Majestic Sect Master, shed blood for the Immortal Realm. If they couldn’t, then at least Carson Flores could refuse to take the job.

If I can’t afford to offend them, I’ll just hide!

Norric looked at Carson Flores, who was meeting his gaze head-on with unwavering eyes, and asked in an even tone, "In the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain, who did you offend?"

Carson Flores answered openly, "The Myriad Immortals Palace Hall Master, who is also the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain Lord, Master of Path, and the Southern Wilderness Quasi-Saint Barbarian King—mainly those two. As for some other first-rate powers, no need to mention them..."

Surprise flashed across Norric’s face. Carson Flores had offended the Master of Path and the Barbarian King?

He offended the Myriad Immortals Palace, and he’s still fine?

What on earth did he do to offend a Domain Master like Master of Path? Is his head made of iron?

"I hadn’t planned on asking about your past, but now I’m suddenly interested. How about you tell me how you ended up offending Master of Path and the Barbarian King?"

Carson Flores spread his hands. "I’m actually pretty innocent. They’re the ones being unreasonable..."
