The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2914: After the Merits, Is Endurance Just Peaceful?
The man in charge of collecting orders glanced over here, and the few remaining people immediately became tense.
The order collector seemed to want to say something, hesitated for a moment, then withdrew his gaze and nodded towards the man in luxurious clothes, indicating for him to follow.
Everyone watched as the two walked toward the entrance to receive supplies, suddenly sensing that something was amiss.
This is queue jumping through the back door!
"Housekeeper Roth!"
The man in front of Yackey Decker couldn’t hold back anymore and stood up, coincidentally as the previous person receiving supplies came out, he asked, "Is it my turn now?"
The order collector, also known as Housekeeper Roth, frowned: "Wait a moment."
The man’s expression turned somewhat angry, but he restrained his inner fury: "According to order, it should be my turn to receive supplies!"
Housekeeper Roth looked displeased, his voice raised a bit: "I said, wait a moment!"
The man gritted his teeth: "Housekeeper Roth, the order has already been collected, does waiting mean I can still receive supplies?"
The situation was already obvious, Carson Flores and the few remaining people had been queue-jumped by someone, the man was very angry but still managed to suppress his anger, hoping to get a promise from Housekeeper Roth.
No matter what, everyone was here to receive supplies. As long as they could ultimately get them, it didn’t matter if they were queue-jumped.
Housekeeper Roth frowned, thought for a moment, then suddenly went inside the house. He returned shortly afterward and flicked three slips of paper forward.
"There was a miscalculation in inventory earlier. This batch of supplies has been fully distributed, there’s no stock left. You will have to wait for the next batch."
Housekeeper Roth looked at the man with an angry expression, thought for a second, and added: "I’ve got your names down, you’ll definitely get supplies in the next batch."
Everyone’s complexion changed, such obvious favoritism!
Too lazy to even cover it up?
The man’s face reddened, eyes filled with anger, he gritted his teeth and asked, "Then when will the next batch of supplies arrive?"
Housekeeper Roth shook his head: "These supplies are allocated from various Immortal Domains, the journey is long and time is uncertain, if lucky they arrive tomorrow, if not, maybe one or two months. Just wait, when the next batch arrives, come early and I’ll ensure you get yours first."
Uncertain time?
Although Housekeeper Roth said they would receive supplies first next time, the words sounded dismissive, especially considering they’ve already waited a long time. How long until next time?
They came with paper slips to claim what they were due, not to beg for charity!
The man couldn’t contain his anger anymore, pointing at the man in luxurious clothes: "Is it because of him jumping the queue for supplies that what we originally had ended up unavailable?"
The man in luxurious clothes smiled faintly, remained silent, hands behind his back, looking relaxed, as if it was none of his concern.
Housekeeper Roth’s face turned stern: "This matter is internal to us, not your concern, please leave now!"
The man decided to speak out boldly, angrily said: "I’ve waited two years to receive supplies, every time with various excuses delaying it, today there clearly are supplies yet you gave others preferential treatment, not me, this is favoritism. I’m going to report you!"
Housekeeper Roth was unperturbed, coldly said: "You’re from Star-Sweeping Sect, right? Go ahead, report, do you know who he is?"
The man angrily retorted: "I don’t care who he is, by protocol it should be my turn to receive supplies, why can he jump my queue?"
Housekeeper Roth calmly stated: "He is Sect Master Taliesin Compton from the Soul-shaking Sect, someone from the Compton Family, that Compton, from which Lirien Compton hails. He’s cut in line, go ahead, report it."
The man’s originally angry face instantly froze.
Not only his face but Yackey Decker and the others standing nearby who shared his anger also had their faces change drastically.
The man in luxurious clothes remained hands behind his back, expression indifferent, with a hint of arrogance, watching everything like a spectator.
Lirien Compton?
Is he very powerful?
Carson Flores whispered to Carradine next to him, whose expression similarly seemed off: "What’s going on, is this Compton Family very powerful, very influential?"
Carradine bowed his head, replied via whisper: "Lirien Compton, he’s one of the nine names on the Immortal God Stele, once made extraordinary contributions to the Immortal Realm... um, Sect Master, Immortal God Stele is..."
"I know."
Carson interrupted Carradine, his eyes narrowed slightly, thinking rapidly.
Names on the Immortal God Stele are those who have made unrivaled contributions and hold great merit to the Immortal Realm, so his family must be highly respected.
Judging by the situation, Taliesin Compton seems to be asking for quite a lot today, maybe even picking and choosing the best ones for himself, so after he receives, there’s no way for us to get anything, another wasted trip.
If lucky, Housekeeper Roth keeps his word, prioritizes us for the next batch of supplies, if unlucky, maybe he reneges or delays again.
So the question arises, should we concede?
