The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2905: You Stayed Up Late Chatting!
When Carson returned to the manor, Samantha Tate, Alfred Weaver, and Lilianna Norman were all waiting.
"Carson, you didn’t get drunk, did you?"
Carson laughed, "Their wine is hardly anything like the legendary Immortal Brew. Getting an alchemist like me drunk isn’t that easy, and besides, they didn’t even try."
Samantha asked in surprise, "Was it that harmonious?"
"Quite harmonious. I’ve taken on a task now."
Carson sat down in front of the three women and recounted the whole situation, "As long as I handle this task, I reckon neither of them will have any objections anymore."
Violeta Herrera chuckled, "Naturally, if you can handle this, it shows either your competence or your connections. Either way, it proves you’re more capable than them, so why would anyone oppose you?"
Alfred Weaver was more thoughtful, voicing a concern, "Could this be something they’ve planned all along to make things difficult for you?"
Carson smiled nonchalantly, "Even if that’s the case, it’s alright. I’m the Sect Master now. Handling things they can’t is essentially my responsibility; otherwise, how could I sit in this position of Sect Master proudly?"
Alfred Weaver thought it made sense, "Do you plan to turn to Norric to handle this?"
Carson laughed, "We’ll see when the time comes. Solving it privately would be best, as it’s not really a big deal."
Lilianna Norman laughed, "Looks like you’re already prepared to be the Sect Master."
Carson explained, "Since I’m already here, I might as well take the title, otherwise what’s the difference between us hiding away in Ten Thousand Immortals Domain?"
The conversation meandered a bit, gradually becoming sparse, yet the atmosphere grew subtly more intimate.
Samantha exaggeratedly yawned, "I’m so sleepy, I’m going to sleep first. You all keep chatting."
Samantha winked slyly at Carson and got up with a smile, "A moment of spring night is worth a thousand gold, I’ll leave you be."
Alfred Weaver and Lilianna Norman’s faces flushed slightly red; though they were longtime spouses, not seeing each other for decades now, it felt as if they were young girls in love again, somewhat shy.
The two exchanged a glance, their eyes bashful.
Alfred Weaver hesitated for a moment, stood up, "I’ll go rest, you two chat."
Lilianna Norman quickly stood, pulling Alfred Weaver along, "I’m also a bit sleepy. You chat, I’m going to bed."
Seeing this, Carson grabbed each one with a mock anger, "Is everyone trying to avoid me? Making excuses to run off one by one? No one’s allowed to leave, keep chatting!"
Alfred Weaver and Lilianna Norman naturally knew Carson wasn’t truly angry. Lilianna bit her lip lightly, gazed at Carson with moist eyes, "Really just chatting?"
How could they not know Carson’s true intentions?
This guy certainly doesn’t want awkward confrontations between them, but he surely has other plans in mind!
Alfred Weaver clearly understood too, her face slightly red, "We can chat tomorrow as well. Now that we’ve met again, there’s plenty of time."
Carson blatantly lied, "But I have so much I want to say to you..."
Lilianna Norman hummed softly, "You devil, don’t think we haven’t figured out your scheme!"
Carson shamelessly replied, "We’ve been married for so long, let’s not be so distant. Let’s chat all night, talk about our feelings. It’s been decades, I missed you both so much."
The words "I missed you both so much" instantly aroused a wave of tenderness in Alfred Weaver and Lilianna Norman’s hearts, softening their resolve.
The two women exchanged a glance. Alfred Weaver, with a flushed face, said, "We can both stay, but only for chatting..."
"Chatting, of course chatting!"
Carson declared firmly, "It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other; we should chat properly..."
The two women blushed and sat back down. Carson was inwardly ecstatic upon seeing them.
It worked!
Hehe, though now it’s chatting, sleep doesn’t need chatting, does it?
I didn’t swear anything, you know!
Besides, they probably don’t believe staying is just for pure chatting; it’s merely an excuse to stay, given the long absence, who wouldn’t want to relieve their longing?
The lights in the room dimmed shortly after, yet the liveliness within had just begun.
"Liar, you promised just to chat..."
"We can chat now as well, wouldn’t you agree?"
"...Hmm..."
The scene inside was picturesque, full of springtime affection, yet concealed tightly by spells, not for outsiders to speculate upon.
The next morning, everyone encountered each other again.
Samantha teasingly said to Lilianna Norman and Alfred Weaver, "Noran, Weaver, you two must have chatted late into the night, chatting so much that you fell asleep?"
Alfred Weaver and Lilianna Norman instinctively exchanged a glance, their faces instantaneously turning crimson, as the embarrassing scenes from the previous night replayed in their minds.
Originally celestial maidens like the bright moon, now they both served one man, even sharing a bed.
Just thinking about it was quite embarrassing!
