The Extra who regained his past life memories

Chapter 187 - time to gat serious

Those heirs and most of the nobles went through brutal training sessions conducted by their families, while others weren’t comfortable with sending their heirs to the Secret Realm.

"Not everyone is like our mothers. They only care about the results."

"They don’t care how much suffering their heirs endure. That’s their own kind of twisted love. They want their heirs to become strong no matter what."

Then she laughed a little and said, "Our mothers want that too, but they refuse to hurt us."

I nodded at that and asked, "So, those nobles who went to train, have they made a lot of progress?"

Elena smiled and nodded. "Yes, they have made progress, but I’m sure they are no match for you two."

Luna smiled and asked, "So, sister, is the training over?"

Elena just shook her head. "No. Until the academy, they will train in that boot camp-like place."

Then she looked at my cousins and said, "Those cousins are no different. They are in that kind of training as well. They only came for the succession."

I just smirked. "They have to go empty-handed this time."

Elena just shook her head. "Most already know Amy is the next head. That’s a fact. She is talented and capable."

"So, their main reason is to make connections with Amy for their future."

I laughed. "But I met people who are begging to get punched."

Elena and Luna laughed at that. "That’s true."

Then Elena pointed at a few cousins, and I looked at them. Their eyes were filled with calculation, and the female cousins were full of calculations too. They looked at Amy like a golden goose.

A chuckle escaped my mouth. "That’s fine, as long as they don’t try to exploit her. But I doubt they can win a mental battle against Amy."

"Even if she looks goofy, she has that."

Elena puffed out her cheeks. "Ah, goofy... Amy, that’s a nice one."

Luna had just finished her orange juice when I heard Amy calling me. It seemed she had finished her match.

I looked at sister Elena and Luna and said, "Amy is calling me. I have to go."

They nodded.

As I used teleportation to go to her side, I said, "Oh, I’m here. What is it? Did you finish your match?"

Her eyes twitched. "I finished my match and even defeated the second opponent. It’s your turn."

My eyes widened. I had been talking with sister Elena, and time had passed before I knew it.

Then I looked at the arena, and a grin appeared on my face.

’Ahhh, you want to warn me about Luna, right? I’ll show you what happens when someone comes after someone and tries to take her from me.’

’If she leaves by her own choice, I won’t lose her.’

Amy said, "He is the one—"

Before she finished, I used teleportation to reach the duel ground.

Amy just looked at me and sighed. She already knew what was going to happen.

I looked at him and said, "Hello. It’s been a while. I did as you said and kept Luna close, and I saw someone staring, so I came to beat that person."

Luna, who was on the side, heard that and puffed out her cheeks. She covered her mouth.

I looked at him with a playful smile and thought to myself, ’Ahh, this is so boring. No one who can give me a challenge has appeared since I awakened my class and physique.’

He saw me just yawn, and his temper flared. His jealousy was through the roof. He thought to himself, ’Why does everything belong to this bastard son of the family head? A goddess-like fiancée, and even the one thing I’m always proud of—power!’

His eyes became bloodshot as the duel began.

As soon as the referee gave the signal to start the duel, he rushed towards me with everything he had.

I just saw his look of jealousy and madness and sighed.

’Nah, he’s not in the right mind. He’s no threat to me. He’s just a bitter person.’

So I decided not to hurt him.

As soon as I thought that, he used his element. It looked like green water, and it came at me.

I just sighed, but Amy called out, "Gray, be careful of that!"

I avoided it by instinct because of Amy, but even if I hadn’t avoided it, I doubted it could penetrate my Space Barrier.

He used his sword to attack me, but I stopped it with my Space Barrier and grabbed his sword with my hands. I covered my hands with Darkness and Darkness Aura so I wouldn’t get cut by the sword.

Then I used Abyssal Energy to strengthen myself and used his sword to push him away.

I held the sharp side, and he got hit by the hilt of the sword.

Then I let go of his sword, took Eclipse, and pointed it at his throat.

I lost interest in him, and the referee announced the match was over.

I just turned away and went to Amy’s side.

She looked at me with surprise. "I thought you beat that guy because of Luna."

I just shrugged. "I went with that intention, but when I took a look at his eyes, I saw massive jealousy and bitterness."

"He has enough problems. I don’t need to beat him up. His jealousy is eating him up."

Amy just smiled. "Hmm, that’s your choice. I personally don’t care what his reasons are."

I nodded. "Me too. But he doesn’t do anything to me, just a few words. If he does something, I don’t care what reasons he has."

Amy nodded, and we waited for the next opponent.

But to our surprise, they gave up.

Amy just smiled and went to the others. Most of them had surrendered.

The few who challenged us got defeated. I just used Space and Darkness to bind them and pointed Eclipse at their necks.

Then we met with the last candidate.

The green tea man. I wanted to beat this guy badly. Even then, I wanted to slap the hell out of him, but it was Amy’s birthday party, and I couldn’t make a scene.

He was fourteen years old, so he matched with Amy.

But I looked at Amy and asked, "Please let me fight this one. I’ve wanted to fight that guy for a long time."

Amy’s eyes twitched. "Ah, why is that?"

I didn’t hesitate. "I don’t like his vibe. From the moment I saw him, I could tell this guy was a two-faced snake. The way he talks, putting himself on the moral high ground and always making himself the victim, always depending on others’ pity... I’ve always wanted to beat him."

Amy looked at me, her mouth twitching. She didn’t like the guy either, but this...

She thought for a moment and said, "Okay, but be careful. He is strong."

I puffed out my chest. "Look at him. Do you see him as strong?"

Amy just looked at him and his aura. He did indeed look weak, but she narrowed her eyes and said, "Don’t judge by his appearance. He must be hiding something."

I nodded and stepped into the ground.

Mom looked at me with confusion. "Gray, it’s Amy’s turn."

I looked at Mom and said, "I talked with Amy and switched. I want a good fight."

Mom just sighed and nodded. "Okay, fine."

It’s up to us who faces whom, but that doesn’t mean Amy can face my match. However, I can participate in her match because I’m the weaker party.

The green tea man looked at me. All the good-guy pretenses were gone, and he just grinned.

I grinned back, and the referee announced the match.

He didn’t say anything because if I backed down, he would lose a good opportunity to win.

As soon as the referee gave the signal, I teleported behind him and attacked with Eclipse, coated in Ice Aura.

His eyes widened, and he avoided my attack and used his sword to attack me.

My Space Barrier met his attack, but I immediately cancelled it and backed down.

The more force he applied to it, the more my mana drained like crazy.

I couldn’t maintain it like that.

And I saw his eyes narrow. He thought he had figured me out.

But the Space Barrier was just one of my many skills.

I used Gravity and Void Step and met his sword.

He overpowered me with his strength.

And he said, "Oh, cousin, you are too arrogant. Why are you backing down?"

I grinned, then used Abyssal Energy to enhance myself and applied Gravity Aura to push his sword back.

His eyes widened as I managed to push it back and give him a scratch.

Then I backed down.

"Oh, it seems my arrogance is still superior to yours, two-faced green tea act."

His face distorted for a moment, and he realized where he was, so he put on that hypocritical mask and said, "What are you talking about, cousin? That strike is really impressive. Indeed, I have to get serious now."

I just smiled. "Oh, okay, then. Go on. Be as serious as you want, but you’re still going to lose to me. I can’t afford to lose. This is Amy’s easy win, and I take that on, so I won’t let her down."

I looked at him and augmented Eclipse with Abyssal Energy, gripping it tightly.

’This will be fun.’
