The man stared at her, and Selena returned his gaze sharply. The two locked eyes for several minutes, causing Vee and the fox servants present to wring their hands in anxiety.

"Do you think you’re starting to feel powerful just because of your status as Queen here? Do you know what? We don’t even recognize Stoner Grey as the king of the Wolf clan, and now you want to flex your power in front of me? Do you know your place, Selene Grece?" the man asked, his face showing offense but still trying to appear stoic.

"I won’t start this conversation until you step down to the lower seat—don’t be so insolent. While I’m still being patient, you’d better use this opportunity to save yourself," Selene said sharply, leaving absolutely no room for negotiation.

"I know about your issue with Stoner Grey—you wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of coming to see me if it weren’t for something important you wanted to discuss, right? So let’s not waste time. If you don’t move to the lower seat within five seconds, don’t blame me for being rude," Selena said, not giving him a chance to speak.

The Second Wolf Lord clenched his fists so tightly that the veins stood out. He stared at Selena, who had already raised five fingers, then smiled cynically.

"Five..." Selena said calmly but seriously. "Four... Three... Two... One—"

"Fine, you damn fool! I’ll move down," exclaimed the Second Wolf Lord as he stood up angrily, then, with a huff, he descended the steps of the throne. "You uneducated brute—only a wild beast with no lineage would treat me like this! You really have no self-respect!" he grumbled as he sat down in the lower seat closest to the throne.

That was the seat of the highest-ranking official—one might say it was the advisor’s seat. But since the Wolf’s advisor wasn’t here at the moment, Selena let it go and sat in her seat as Queen with grace and composure.

"Have the Wolf’s servant prepare some light refreshments and drinks for Second Wolf Lord," Selena said, looking at the fox servant standing there.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The woman curtsied politely and walked away, while Vee had already walked behind Selena’s chair, standing calmly there as he awaited the Queen’s orders.

"You’re quite confident, aren’t you, to have a servant prepare snacks for me as if this were a very interesting conversation," said the Second Wolf Lord with a scornful look.

But Selena was completely unfazed; she calmly folded her hands in her lap, gazing at the man with the dignity befitting a Queen.

"Of course—after all, you are my husband’s uncle. If I don’t provide you with good hospitality during your visit, my husband might end up facing bad gossip out there. That wouldn’t be appropriate, since probably no one would believe it anyway," she said with a sweet smile.

The Second Wolf Lord snorted, but he had no argument to refute Selena’s words. He knew that the majority of the Wolf Clan supported Stoner and his rule, because they refused to be led by anyone not of the King’s bloodline. ℯℯ𝑙.

So no matter how strongly the former king had declared that he would appoint his younger brother as his successor, it had no effect because, fundamentally, the people had never agreed to it.

So it was only natural that Stoner staged a coup and seized power from his mad father. In fact, the Wolf people supported his intentions 100 percent, which is why they were forced to step down from their seats of honor and now reside only in a forgotten castle on the outskirts of the Wolf clan.

"So what is the purpose of your visit here, Second Lord Wolf? Actually, calling you ’Lord’ isn’t even appropriate for me, since you’re a nobody and I am a Queen. So let me rephrase it: what was the purpose of your visit yesterday, Second Wolf?" Selena said casually, playing with her words.

The man took offense, but he also knew Selena wouldn’t listen to him. This made him snort loudly, leaning back arrogantly before speaking.

"Leave Stoner. As a healer of extinction, you don’t belong with a king like him. You deserve a man with more power—why would you go back to him when he’s already let you down before?"

Contrary to her expectations, Selena had thought this man would belittle her and then demand she leave Stoner because she wasn’t worthy of a king—since she was just an ordinary woman. But in reality, he instead claimed that Stoner was the one unworthy of her, especially since he had once let Selena down.

It turned out that aside from being annoying with his arrogance, this man was also quite skilled with words. He flattered to belittle, deliberately lifting someone up only to slam them down hard.

"Oh, really? Who do you think is worthy of me here in Eldoria? Only five kings remain—the rest were wiped out by the infamous Curse of Extinction. As the one and only healer of extinction—and with another one having just emerged after hundreds of years—isn’t even a king worthy of me?" Selena said pointedly.

"He’s not worthy of you; my nephew is foolish and annoying. He’ll never be able to satisfy you because of his overly arrogant nature. You’ll only suffer with him—a lifetime is far too long, especially here in Eldoria where you’ll live for an extremely long time. Do you really want to deal with a husband like him for the rest of your life?" he said with a serious expression.

Selena gave a small smile and nodded. "Now that you’ve said that, it’s actually crossed my mind. Up until now, I’ve never thought about it, because it’s so enjoyable being the queen of five kings at once. Not to mention, my status as the healer of extinction has earned me—and many of the people here—great respect; I’m very comfortable and at peace living here. Why didn’t I realize what you were thinking just now?" Selena said, making the man laugh even though his face looked a bit annoyed.

"You’ve only been the Healer of Extinction for a few days—not even a week yet. Of course, at first they’ll treat you very well; they’ll pretend to be sincere and start showering you with love and attention."

"But that’s all nonsense. Don’t be so easily fooled, because once they get everything they want, they’ll cast you aside. While there’s still time, you’d better leave—just walk away. None of them care about you, not even my own nephew," he said at length, with complete conviction.

"Really? So they’re all faking it?" Selena asked, raising her eyebrows in disbelief.

Hearing Selena’s question, the Second Wolf Lord nodded quickly. He looked quite pleased that Selena seemed to believe his words.

"I helped raise and educate Stoner; I know his attitude and behavior very well. He’s a nephew I’ve looked after since he was a baby—you don’t need to doubt my instincts as an uncle. I know who’s sincere and who isn’t, Selena. And you need to hear this truth—the truth that Stoner isn’t sincere with you at all," he said, causing Selena to cover her mouth with her hand.

She pretended to be shocked, and it looked quite natural. Vee was even surprised by Selena’s reaction, but she remained silent so as not to be presumptuous.

Selena doesn’t believe in love or the sincere treatment of her current husbands anyway, so just let her do whatever she wants. Vee will remain loyal to her even if the earth splits in two.

"He even cut ties with his father—his own biological father—just for the sake of power. Of course, there’s right and wrong between them, but that doesn’t mean you should immediately sever blood ties. You’ll end up the same way—he’ll cast you aside and discard you as soon as he’s 100% healthy," said the Second Wolf Lord, his expression still serious.

Selena fell silent; this time, her face took on a more listless look, showing she hadn’t expected her husband to be like that. Meanwhile, the Second Wolf Lord looked quite smug as Selena wore an expression of disbelief.

It turned out this woman was just as foolish as ever; it wasn’t in vain that she’d come here to mess with Selena’s emotions and incite her to leave.

But Selena wasn’t that kind of person at all; she had a broad enough perspective as a Healer of Extinction. But why was she wasting her time here, when she could find a better man?

"I just remembered that—he even wanted to cut ties with his father and uncles. I actually intended to leave too, but there’s one thing I have to do, and it’s not finished yet," Selena said, looking down at her hands resting in her lap.

"Oh, come on, why keep thinking about that? Selena, life out there will be so much fun—and far more enjoyable than it is here. Tell me what you want so you’ll be willing to leave and won’t be disappointed or hurt again. As your husband’s uncle, I’ll give you anything you want. Don’t hesitate to ask for my help—I don’t want anyone else to get hurt or broken because of your niece, which is why I’m willing to do this," he said, causing Selena to look up at him.

"You’ll give me anything?"

The Second Wolf Lord nodded seriously.

"Anything? Are you sure?"

"Of course," replied the Second Wolf Lord firmly. "Tell me what you want; I’ll definitely do anything for you."

"In that case, I want to know where you’re holding the Wolf King’s mother captive. If you tell me where she is, I’ll leave Stoner Grey right then and there."
