"So it’s actually you?! What kind of joke is this? Of all the people who could have been chosen for this role, it’s you who was selected? A brat like you?!" Leah laughed in disbelief. "Someone who didn’t even know his own origin, someone who didn’t even have a wolf until not long ago! What kind of nonsense is this?!"

"People who would have been better suited for the role... you mean people like you?"

Bryce asked, clearly uninterested in having any conversation with her.

"I was just telling people to watch their tone when speaking to me. I won’t repeat it again," Bryce added quietly.

Before he could say anything more, Vincent stepped forward, his anger visibly reaching its peak, but Bryce caught him and held him back once again.

"Not worth it. She went to all that trouble trying to ruin our image in the human world, but in the end, she only made things easier for us." He turned toward Leah.

"In case you don’t know, your plan backfired. Now everyone in the human world thinks you’re a total nuisance, while they think Vincent and I belong together. They think we deserve each other. Even at the company, they were so glad you were gone."

As Bryce spoke, the things Leah had done began registering in his mind without his permission, one after another.

"And by the way, didn’t you bewitch Vincent so he could be with you, driving him toward a decision he didn’t make consciously?"

Vincent turned toward Bryce in utter disbelief, clearly unable to comprehend what he was hearing.

Gasps immediately swept through the crowd.

Bryce did not stop.

"You wanted him to take the fertilized ova from his mate so it could be put inside you, allowing you to pretend to bear a child for him and convince everyone that you were actually his mate. You were disappointed when you found out I was male. Well, it turns out being a man doesn’t stop Vincent’s real mate from giving him an heir."

Bryce rested a hand against his stomach.

"I’m pregnant. Surprise. So, what are you going to do about it now?"

The gasps grew louder.

Vincent stepped forward and wrapped one arm around Bryce’s waist, while his other hand settled protectively over Bryce’s stomach.

Murmurs immediately spread through the crowd.

"How could he be pregnant?"

"He’s a man."

"Is he crazy or something?"

"He’s bluffing."

"Did he use dark magic to get pregnant?"

"He has extraordinary powers. Perhaps it’s true that they allow him to conceive."

Leah’s expression darkened before she let out a bitter laugh, devoid of even the slightest trace of amusement.

"Pregnant? What a joke. You two are disgusting, you know that?"

"Oh?" Vincent replied, his voice dripping with mockery. "Do you mind reminding me how much your opinion matters?"

Vincent’s comeback visibly angered Leah.

Bryce had no intention of prolonging the argument. Without another word, he turned to leave, paying no attention to the older man and woman who had been watching him throughout the entire exchange.

The strange sensation inside him had only intensified by then.

That bond-like feeling that had been there from the moment they appeared.

He had barely taken a few steps when the man abruptly stepped in front of him, blocking his way.

Bryce looked at him with an irritated glance.

The man immediately began to panic visibly.

"Forgive me for the interruption, but may I ask you a personal question?" he asked. "Do you know who your parents are?"

Bryce stared at him in disbelief.

The man really had the audacity to ask him that.

After they had thrown him away into some woods, he now stood there asking Bryce about his parents.

Bryce had to use everything he had to keep himself from acting on the anger that had already built inside him.

He did not answer.

He simply walked past him.

The man immediately turned toward his wife.

"Lizabeth, why do I feel a parental bond toward him?"

The question drew another wave of gasps from the crowd.

The man sounded completely confused, as though he was trying to understand something that refused to make any sense to him.

Lizabeth did not answer.

Instead, she stormed away.

"I asked you a question!" the man grabbed her hand, pulling her back.

She turned toward him, looking tense, her expression revealing that she was also struggling to understand what she had just witnessed.

"Are you really that dumb that you can’t understand something so simple?! Fine. Since you are my mate, and I happen to have the dumbest mate in the world, then I’ll fill you in."

Her voice carried clear irritation.

"You feel a parental bond toward him because you are definitely his father! How is that so difficult to understand?! A person only feels a parental bond toward their children, and children feel it toward their parents. There. Are you satisfied now?"

The man stared at her in utter disbelief.

"You said our son died during birth!"

Lizabeth’s expression hardened.

"Who do you think you’re speaking to like that?!" she demanded, her displeasure unmistakable.

"You. I’m speaking to you! And I want to know about my son! I have endured so many things with you. I let you do whatever you wanted and speak to me however you wanted, but I am not going to keep quiet about this one!"

His voice was filled with anger and confusion.

"You said he died, so how is he alive now?!"

"Stop pretending you care that much now simply because you’ve realized he has some whatever powers!" Lizabeth snapped.

"If I had told you back then, when he was born, that he was a useless male Omega, would you still be speaking the way you are speaking now? And if you really cared that much about your new baby who had just been born, you would have followed everything up and confirmed that he was actually dead. You would have confirmed that I had actually buried him!"

The man stared at her.

"You simply believed what I told you, and now you want to pretend that you cared that much?"

"Mom, Dad, what complete madness are you talking about?!" Leah suddenly snapped, disbelief evident in her voice. "Are you saying that this brat is my brother?!"

She looked from one parent to the other before turning her gaze toward Bryce.

The other two girls reacted no differently. Confusion and disbelief were written plainly across their faces.

Bryce, meanwhile, could barely process what he was hearing.

Too many things were being revealed at once.

The man who apparently was his father had not taken part in throwing him away.

And...

Him?

Leah’s brother?

Impossible.

Vincent, on the other hand, was just as completely stunned as everyone else.

His mind was caught on one horrifying realization.

If Leah was Bryce’s sister, then he had been romantically involved with both a brother and a sister.

How could Leah possibly be Bryce’s sister?
