The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man
Chapter 778 - 774: Lucky Star
"You troublemaking jinx! All you do is stir up drama the moment you come home. Just look at the mess you’ve made of this family!"
Father Sun glared at Sun Yeshu, his eyes dark and terrifying, as if he wanted to eat her alive.
Sun Yeshu trembled under his gaze, and in the next moment, she burst into tears.
"Waaaah..."
Seeing this, Father Sun inexplicably thought of Xu Wenwan, the village chief’s daughter who had been swapped at birth.
’When Xu Wenwan returned, she had also turned her family’s life completely upside down. Could it be that his own daughter was a jinx, just like Xu Wenwan?’
Father Sun’s expression hardened.
’Thinking about it, everything that had happened recently was because Sun Yeshu had gone looking for trouble with Gu Jiaojiao. But Gu Jiaojiao was a lucky star... Was the Sun family being punished because his daughter had offended that lucky star?’
’Xu Wenwan had been the same way.’
’She coveted Gu Jiaojiao’s husband, antagonized her constantly, and ended up completely disgraced.’
’So that was it. The key was Gu Jiaojiao. The stories about her being a lucky star were true. Anyone who caused trouble for her came to a bad end.’
The more he thought about it, the more terrified he became. He glanced at Sun Yeshu. ’This daughter is a lost cause.’
He couldn’t let Sun Yeshu continue to bring misfortune upon their home. Right then and there, he started packing her things and, to Sun Yeshu’s utter disbelief, threw her out.
Sun Yeshu was left speechless.
Clutching her small bundle, she stood pitifully at the door, her gaze pleading and hesitant as she looked at her own father, hoping his heart would soften.
But her father didn’t even spare her a glance. He bolted the door right in front of her and went back into the house.
The merciless act stung Sun Yeshu’s eyes, making them burn.
Still unwilling to give up, she cried out, "Dad, if you kick me out now, where am I supposed to go? I’m pregnant!"
Father Sun’s heart didn’t soften in the slightest. "You’re a married woman. Naturally, you should go back to the Leng Family. The baby you’re carrying belongs to the Lengs, too. Now go! And don’t come back to visit so often in the future. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
With that, Father Sun stepped into the room and didn’t emerge again.
Sun Yeshu waited for a while, but eventually had no choice but to trudge dejectedly back to the Leng Family home.
Leng Qingtian saw Sun Yeshu come back, but he said nothing.
No one in the Leng Family so much as acknowledged her.
At this point, Sun Yeshu felt she had lost every last shred of dignity. She retreated to her room alone and started to cry.
Aunt Leng stood in the courtyard, hands on her hips, and started shouting.
"Crying the moment you get back! Anyone would think you’ve been terribly wronged. If you don’t want to stay with the Leng Family, then get back to your own family’s house."
"If you want to stay here, then get out here and work! Do you really think being pregnant makes you some kind of royalty? Pull another stunt like this, and you can just forget about coming back at all."
Before, Aunt Leng had actually cared a great deal for her daughter-in-law. She had even been ready to go and cause trouble for Gu Jiaojiao on Sun Yeshu’s behalf.
But as a result, her eldest son had grown distant and now ignored her. Her younger son had become more sullen than before. The entire family was exhausted from hauling water every day, and everyone looked at her like she was the one to blame.
Aunt Leng was filled with a bitterness she couldn’t express. Now that Sun Yeshu was back, she finally had an outlet for her frustration.
Now, Sun Yeshu didn’t even dare to cry, terrified that the Leng Family would cast her out, too.
She composed herself, hurried out of the room, and called out meekly, "Mother."
Aunt Leng shot her a sideways glare. "Now that you’re back, you’ll work diligently. Don’t even think about slacking off. We don’t support freeloaders in this family."
With that, she went into the kitchen.
Sun Yeshu remained in the courtyard. Her eyes reddened as she looked at Leng Qingtian.
Aunt Leng’s voice immediately called out from the kitchen, "What are you doing standing around in the courtyard? Get in here and help me cook. Honestly, you’re completely useless."
