The Darkness System: Rise of the Broken Sovereign
Chapter 341: Eclipse of the Primordial Void
Draxos shouted, "Let’s end this cycle once and for all!"
He clapped his hands together. The sound didn’t carry through the vacuum of space—it carried through his domain, reverberating through the flesh sea, the blood rain, the very fabric of the Reality Annex. The eight massive Asura arms in the sky froze, then moved in unison, their hands clasping together in mirror of Draxos’s gesture.
Kael sensed danger. His Spirit Eyes caught the spatial distortion a fraction of a second before the attack materialized. He stepped back, but not fast enough. His right hand exploded.
Blood and bone fragments scattered. The gauntlet slipped from his severed wrist, falling toward the pulsing flesh sea below. Kael’s eyes widened at the stump where his hand had been, dark blood spurting from the wound.
Draxos clicked his tongue. "Too slow."
But Kael was already planting his feet on the living flesh. His Void Sovereign Physique activated, accelerated regeneration flooding the stump with dense, dark energy. Flesh knitted, bones regrew, tendons reformed, fingers extended. Within seconds, his right hand was whole again. The gauntlet flew back to his hand, the blood bond pulling the Special Grade artifact through the air. It clicked into place, the Aura Amplification humming back to life.
Kael brought his hands together in a dual mudra. His voice carried through the domain resonant with primordial authority.
"Light is an illusion. Creation is a lie. From the void I was born, and to the void you shall return."
Multiple bone spikes launched toward him from the flesh sea, erupting from the ground like grasping fingers. They screamed through the air, aimed at his chest, his throat, his skull.
Kael finished the chant.
His Monarch of the Astral Void title aura surged. The passive intimidation field that affected all beings below Peak Spirit Soul expanded outward as a declaration. As the fundamental law of a sovereign claiming dominion over reality itself.
"Reality Annex: Eclipse of the Primordial Void."
FWOOOM.
Kael’s domain erupted.
Everything within a thirty-meter radius was pulled toward Kael as the center point, as if reality itself was being sucked into a singularity. The flesh sea around him dissolved, the living tissue unable to maintain its structure as primordial darkness overrode the demonic energy sustaining it. The blood rain around him evaporated, each drop of boiling demon blood consumed by the void before it could touch his skin. The bone spikes heading toward him disintegrated mid-flight, crumbling to ash that was swallowed by the expanding dark.
The domain’s appearance was terrifying in its simplicity. It was the concept of nothingness given form. Inside this domain, there was no ground, no sky, no air—just an endless expanse of swirling, starless dark interspersed with faint, silver specks of dying light. Those silver specks were the last remnants of whatever reality had existed here before Kael’s void consumed it. They flickered like dying stars, beautiful and tragic, before being swallowed by the encroaching darkness.
The two domains clashed at their boundary.
On Draxos’s side, the ground was a churning sea of meat, bone, and boiling blood. The massive Asura hands in the sky reached toward Kael’s domain, their fingers stretching, trying to cross the boundary and crush him. The blood rain intensified, the downpour thickening to a torrent as Draxos fed more power into his domain, trying to overwhelm Kael’s through sheer volume.
On Kael’s side, it was an endless, starless abyss. The darkness didn’t just block Draxos’s domain—it actively consumed it. Where the living flesh of the Asura’s Womb Carnage touched the Primordial Void, it dissolved, turning to ash and being absorbed into Kael’s mana core. The blood rain that crossed the boundary evaporated instantly. The bone spires that tried to grow into his domain crumbled before they could form.
The boundary line between them was a catastrophic, rotating ring of annihilation. SCREEEE. Matter and void ground against each other, creating shockwaves that leveled the surrounding asteroid landscape for miles. The very fabric of space buckled and warped along the boundary, creating visible distortions that bent light into twisted, funhouse reflections.
Draxos attempted to use his absolute physical control. He commanded the bone and blood in the air to surge into Kael’s body, trying to burst his organs and snap his bones from the inside. The demonic energy infiltrated Kael’s pathways, attempting to hijack his cellular structure.
But Kael’s Asura bloodline responded. Demonic Asura Flame fused with his Asura demonic energy, creating Asura Hellfire. The purple-black flame with corrosive and soul-burning properties erupted from his skin, burning the infiltrating bone and blood to ash on contact. The hellfire spread outward, consuming everything within his immediate vicinity.
Lightning surged around him. Kael formed another hand seal.
"Let’s take this to the next level."
His other rule powers surged from within his domain. Gravity Rule Power crashed toward Draxos as a crushing force, the weight of a collapsed star pressing down on the demon’s domain. Draxos’s flesh sea compressed, the living tissue flattening under the gravitational pressure. His blood rain was forced downward, the boiling droplets pushed back toward the ground.
Then Lightning Rule Power followed. Blue-white electricity arced through Kael’s void domain, the lightning taking on a crimson edge as it interacted with his Wrath Intent. The bolts struck Draxos’s domain boundary like spears, piercing through the flesh sea, burning tunnels of destruction through the living tissue.
Draxos’s eyes widened. Three different rule powers. Gravity, Lightning, and Darkness. Each one at the Resonance step or higher. Each one capable of sustaining a domain on its own. Combined, they created a layered assault that his single-element domain couldn’t match.
"What is this?" Draxos muttered, his voice carrying genuine shock.
Kael formed another hand seal. His soul power gathered, his mana pathways widened, and his Lightning Rule Power condensed into a formation above him. He murmured the chant.
"Let the heavens bear witness to the sins of the strong. Let the thunder that birthed creation now unmake it. I am the hand that holds the bolt. I am the eye that sees the end. In the kingdom of storms, I am the king. In the silence after thunder, I am the sound that remains. Let judgment fall. Let the sky break. Let every bolt that ever was or ever will be converge upon this single point."
He raised his hand.
"Reality Annex: Heaven’s Execution Chamber."
A boundless dark cloud formed above him, swirling with condensed lightning. The cloud wasn’t natural—it was a manifestation of Lightning Rule Power compressed to its absolute limit. The lightning within the cloud took on a red glow, the color of Wrath-infused electricity, each bolt carrying both destructive force and corrosive rage.
Red lightning surged everywhere. The bolts struck the ground, the walls, the boundary between domains. Each strike carved a trench of annihilation through Draxos’s flesh sea. The massive Asura arms in the sky convulsed as red lightning struck them, their condensed demonic energy destabilizing under the assault.
Kael started bleeding from his nose, eyes, and ears. The strain of opening two domains simultaneously while maintaining the Void Core, dual transformations, and dual bloodlines was catastrophic. His mana pathways screamed. His soul trembled. Blood streamed down his face, his vision blurring at the edges.
But the two overlapping domains attacked Draxos’s domain with overwhelming force. The Primordial Void consumed from one side. The Heaven’s Execution Chamber bombarded from above. Draxos’s Asura’s Womb Carnage was caught between two catastrophic forces, its structure fracturing under the dual assault.
Draxos coughed blood. The crimson liquid floated in the void of his domain, mixing with the blood rain. His true demon form flickered, his exoskeleton cracking under the pressure.
He looked at Kael, at the absolute insanity of a Spirit Soul Rank 3 cultivator attempting to overpower a Rank 9 through sheer will and raw power.
"You’re crazy," Draxos said, his voice strained. "Stop it. You’ll kill yourself before you kill me."
Kael didn’t stop. The red lightning intensified. The void expanded. The grinding boundary between domains accelerated, consuming Draxos’s domain faster and faster.
Draxos’s domain structure collapsed.
The flesh sea dissolved. The massive Asura arms shattered into fragments of condensed demonic energy that scattered into the void. The Reality Annex: Asura’s Womb Carnage disintegrated, unable to sustain itself against the combined assault of two overlapping domains.
The void of space returned around them. But Kael’s domains remained, swirling with darkness and red lightning, pressing down on Draxos with the weight of a dying universe.
Draxos floated in the vacuum, his true demon form battered, his exoskeleton cracked in dozens of places, dark blood seeping from wounds that his regeneration struggled to close. His dark red eyes stared at Kael with an emotion he hadn’t felt in centuries.
Fear.
Not of death. Draxos had never feared death. He feared what Kael represented—the return of the Astraeon bloodline, the son of the man who had nearly exterminated his race, wielding the power to finish what his father started.
