"Secretary Winslow, since you opened this shop, why are you still working at my sister-in-law’s company?

I think being your own boss is more comfortable than working for others," Paige Desmond asked.

"Because it doesn’t make money," James Winslow said frankly.

"Such beautiful porcelain, and no one buys it?" Paige Desmond was surprised, especially since the prices weren’t high.

"The location is a bit out of the way, and the price is somewhat high...

All these porcelain pieces are made by me, with a lot of effort, so I don’t want to sell them cheaply.

The good thing is the house is mine, so there’s no rent, and the biggest expense is hiring a sales clerk, which barely keeps things going," James Winslow said optimistically.

James Winslow glanced at Paige Desmond and asked, "Do you know how porcelain can be sold at a high price?"

"I don’t know that,"

Paige Desmond had never earned a penny on her own in her life.

Originally, she was supported by Adrian Desmond, and after marrying Kiya, it was Kiya who supported her. Paige Desmond felt particularly useless.

James Winslow explained, "By making forgeries!"

"Are you saying you imitate those antique porcelains?"

"Yes."

Paige Desmond frowned, "You refused, right?"

"Yes!" James Winslow said candidly, "I really like the porcelain I make. I don’t want to do anything illegal for money."

"You’re right," Paige Desmond praised.

"Since you like it, pick a few pieces later," James Winslow said.

"A few aren’t enough. I saw so many I liked just now; I want to buy them all."

"I’ll give you a discount, twenty percent off."

"Alright."

Paige Desmond sat next to him, watching as a piece of porcelain slowly took shape in James Winslow’s hands, becoming a piece of art.

"Does Secretary Harrington know you can make porcelain?"

"No."

"You should tell her."

James Winslow’s eyes dimmed for a moment, and as he became distracted, the almost finished porcelain vase in his hand was ruined. Paige Desmond exclaimed, "What a pity."

"It’s nothing to pity, I’ll just make it again," James Winslow said as he started molding the half-finished product again.

Paige Desmond watched quietly for a while and said, "I know a lot of friends who like porcelain. I’ll introduce you. Your items will all sell quickly."

James Winslow smiled, "If they all sell, I’ll give you a commission."

Paige Desmond waved her hand and said, "No need, we’re friends, and friends should help each other."

Paige Desmond stood up and took pictures of each piece in the shop, posting them on her Story with prices and contact info. In no time at all, people were leaving comments to buy them.

"Haha, someone really wants to buy them, I wasn’t lying,"

James Winslow smiled and continued to make a Guanyin Porcelain Vase.

Paige Desmond grabbed some paper and a pen to record the buyers’ information, and within an hour, half of the store’s inventory was gone.

Paige Desmond looked up and saw the focused man working under the lights, suddenly realizing he was handsome.

She casually took a photo of James Winslow making pottery and posted it to the Story, with a caption: "The most handsome is a man who is serious."

This unintentional remark by Paige Desmond, however, got James Winslow into trouble.

...

Imperial Palace of Abyanabad.

In the luxurious large bedroom, Kiya, dressed in a white robe, sat on the bed like a sculpture.

Insomnia... Kiya was sleepless once again.

He missed his wife, missed his child... The vast palace was like a cage, trapping his soul.

He secretly added Paige Desmond’s Story, using the profile picture of the macaw she kept.

He would like every post she made, hoping she would notice that the stranger giving her likes was him, yet afraid she’d find out. In this awkward and contradictory persistence, he liked every post.

During his sleepless nights, Kiya habitually browsed through what Paige Desmond posted. He saw her post a bunch of porcelain photos... then a photo of a man.

Under the dim light, in the pottery studio, the handsome man... Kiya lost control of his emotions.

Kiya looked at James Winslow’s photo on his phone, his fist clenched tightly, making a crackling sound.

He had looked at every post she made, and she was very happy... She posted about food, scenery, her handmade crafts, her child, but never mentioned him.

She left without hesitation, without looking back, embracing a new life, completely abandoning him.

He could only guard memories, peeping at her life, living decadently.

Kiya had lost a lot of weight, and the dark circles under his eyes showed that he didn’t sleep well.

"Come!" Kiya shouted loudly.

Gavin hurriedly came in, respectfully asking, "Sultan, what are your orders?"

"So late; why would the queen be with a man?" Kiya questioned.

Kiya was full of anger, and Gavin was puzzled. He didn’t know what had happened for Kiya to be so furious.

"Sultan, I will immediately ask the queen’s bodyguard..." Gavin was about to go make a call, but Kiya didn’t let him leave, "Ask right here, find out exactly what happened."

"Yes!"

Gavin hurriedly called the bodyguard beside Paige Desmond, switched to speakerphone after the call connected.

Gavin asked, "Rick, where is the queen right now?"

"At a porcelain shop," Rick answered.

Gavin glanced at Kiya and asked once more, "Who is with the queen?"

"James Winslow!"

"Who is James Winslow?"

"Secretary of Eastminster Group."

Kiya grabbed the phone to ask directly, "Is the queen very familiar with that man?"

Rick tensed up hearing the Sultan’s voice, "The queen works at Eastminster Group, and since she knows nothing, it’s always been James Winslow teaching her, so lately the queen has been closely associating with him."

"Why work?" Every month, Kiya would send Paige Desmond living expenses, and it was no small sum, enough for her to live extravagantly.

"That I’m not sure about."

Kiya snapped, "Don’t know, don’t know, what do you even know?"

Rick said, "Sultan, we’re just ordered to protect the queen. The queen is very safe."

"Safe? So late, a woman with a man, and you call that safe?" Kiya yelled, "Tomorrow I’ll lock your wife with a man, and see if you still say such things?"

Rick: I don’t have a wife!

Gavin came over to console, "Sultan, calm down, the queen isn’t that kind of person, she won’t do anything to betray you."

"I want to go to Sileria City!" Kiya had put up with it long enough, he couldn’t endure it anymore.

"But tomorrow the Cagalanga King is arriving for a state visit. If you leave, there’ll be no one to receive him."

In international relations, a reception requires someone of equal rank; otherwise, it’s disrespectful and insulting to the other party.

For the Cagalanga King’s visit, only Kiya could be the host.
