The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1379 - 1319: Beating Up the Little Mandarins
The parents both comforted him, but George cried even harder, and just as the flight was about to board, he suddenly ran away.
"George!"
Aria Harris shouted, "Owen, George ran off, you need to go catch him."
"You little rascal!" Owen handed his bag to his wife and chased after.
George wanted to see Curly; he simply had to see her.
He wanted to tell her: He liked her, and when he grew up, he wanted to marry her. He would love her just like the way her father loved her mother.
The airport was crowded, and George slipped through people like a little fish, making it impossible for Owen to keep up.
"George, stop right there!" Owen shouted.
There was no way George would stop. If he went back to Abyanabad, he’d never be able to return until he grew up.
"Dad, I’m going to find Curly. Once I see her, I’ll go back to Abyanabad with you." George turned his head and shouted to his father.
"Do you know where she is?"
"She’s at the amusement park."
"There are so many amusement parks; how do you know which one she’s at?"
George didn’t answer, and as Owen watched the distance between them grow, he shouted, "George, don’t run around. How about Dad takes you there?"
George didn’t believe his dad’s words for a second. If he stopped, he’d surely have to board the plane back to Abyanabad with them.
He had to see Curly before he left.
So many people liked Curly; what if she fell for someone else and married them?
Running out of the airport, George got on a bus, following a pregnant woman, who the driver assumed was his mom.
Once on the bus, George hid in the back to avoid being discovered as traveling alone and risk being taken to the police station.
Kathryn mentioned Curly had gone to an amusement park, and the one Curly often visited was Fantasia Playground, the closest to the Johnson Family home.
George guessed he might find her at Fantasia Playground, so he took several buses to get there.
He’s thankful he had money today; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to go anywhere.
...
Fantasia Playground wasn’t just an amusement park but also a zoo, which meant a ticket was needed to enter.
With George’s height, a ticket was required, so he pulled out money to buy one. The Auntie at the ticket counter noticed he was buying a ticket alone and said,
"Wow, young man, you’re really independent, buying a ticket yourself. Here, this is your ticket; hold on to it."
"Thank you."
George took the ticket and went through to get it checked.
It was a day off, and the park was crowded. George’s eyes scanned like X-rays over the crowds, searching for Curly.
With so many people, finding her wasn’t easy.
...
At the Butterfly Exhibit,
Curly was wearing a red down jacket and a white hat with pom poms, with her small nose looking a bit red from the cold.
"Mom, why did you suddenly bring me to the amusement park today?" Curly asked.
"What’s wrong with taking you to the amusement park?" Sienna Johnson countered.
Curly looked up at her mother’s smiling face, not easily fooled, "Mom, I’m not a child anymore. If there’s something going on, can you just tell me?"
"Just enjoy yourself. Children who overthink things never grow tall."
Curly said, "You should just tell me, Mom. You’re acting so strangely today that I can’t have fun with peace of mind."
Sienna Johnson led her daughter to sit on a chair.
The weather was nice today, with sunlight, although the sun wasn’t warm enough to really heat things up, it could still bring a hint of warmth to people during winter.
Sienna Johnson stroked her head and spoke truthfully, "George left today..."
"Oh." Curly’s response was somewhat indifferent.
Sienna Johnson continued, "Mom doesn’t want you to get too close to George. His mom doesn’t like you, and I don’t want you someday to fall in love with him..."
"..."
"You’re both still very young and unpredictable. In a few years, when George grows up, he may change his mind."
Curly wrinkled her small brow, "Why can’t I fall in love with George?"
Sienna Johnson’s heart skipped a beat, "Do you like George?"
"Of course, George is very good to me; he listens to everything I tell him to do. When I get married, I want someone who listens to everything I say."
Sienna Johnson brushed her daughter’s curly hair and said, "You can’t like George, and I won’t let you marry him when you grow up."
"Why?" Curly questioned persistently.
"Do you know why your aunt had a car accident?"
Curly sat on the bench, her legs dangling, and which were originally swinging, stopped. She said quietly, "I know, Dad told me."
"When women get fierce, it’s scary. If someday George’s mom becomes a woman like your aunt’s mother-in-law, what then?
You’re a treasure to me and your dad; you can find any kind of man you want. Knowing well that George’s mom doesn’t like you, why go through the hassle of marrying him and suffering from it later?"
"..."
"Mom hopes you find a man who cherishes you locally, so that when you marry, it’ll be easier to meet. If you marry abroad, Mom won’t have an easy time seeing you."
Sienna Johnson gently guided her; Curly didn’t speak, but Sienna knew she was listening.
"Mom, you’re making sense."
Sienna Johnson stroked her daughter’s hair gently, "Women need to be a bit proud, not willing to die or live for a man; it’s too embarrassing."
"Mom, come on, I’m not going to die or live for George..."
"You’re young now, but as you grow up, there will be times you’ll feel like your boyfriend is more important than your parents... At that time, Mom hopes you can keep a shred of rational thought in your relationships."
"How is that possible? You and Dad are most important to me; I love Mom, I love Dad."
"Mom loves you too!" Sienna Johnson embraced Curly.
"If I can’t marry George, can I marry Dylan?"
Sienna Johnson looked at her daughter in shock, "You like Dylan?"
"Yes, I do."
"Why do you like him?"
"He’s good to me. Whatever I tell Dylan to do, he does."
Again with the same reason, Sienna confirmed this little girl didn’t understand the true meaning of "like."
"You two are cousins; you can’t get married."
"In Abyanabad, you can. Mom, how about I marry Dylan, then Auntie becomes my mother-in-law. Auntie likes me and won’t bully me; I can become a queen..." Curly said longingly.
"..."
"Mom, have you ever been to the Abyanabad Imperial Palace?"
"I haven’t been."
"I heard from Dylan that the Abyanabad Imperial Palace is so beautiful, so beautiful. Curly wants to live in the palace, like a princess."
One person is desperately trying to get out of the palace, and another desperately wants to get in. Sienna Johnson could see it clearly; this girl didn’t have the slightest understanding of true feelings.
