The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1356 - 1296: Short Haircut, Sixth Master Is Unhappy
"I know, I’m also afraid of my mom nagging."
"..."
"Don’t worry, I’m very tight-lipped. I definitely won’t spill the secret."
Adrian finally took his daughter back home.
Adrian couldn’t find Sienna. His sister told him that Sienna had gone to get a haircut, so Adrian went to a nearby salon to look for her.
By the time he found Sienna, she had already finished cutting her hair.
There was hair all over the ground. Her black hair... long hair transformed into a neat short cut, changing Sienna’s whole aura from gentle and soft to stylish and capable, with a touch of playfulness.
Seeing Adrian staring at her hair, Sienna smiled and asked, "Does it look good?"
Adrian pressed his lips tightly, a gloomy expression on his face.
"Let’s go, I’ll make sweet and sour pork for you when we get home." Sienna paid and came over to link arms with Adrian, and the two of them walked out together.
The ground was covered with a layer of pristine white snow. Sienna wore snow boots, stepping on it made a creaking sound, which she found pleasing, deliberately stepping into deeper snow.
"Why did you cut your hair?"
"Because you messed up my hair; the stylist said there was no way to fix it except cutting it shorter."
"..."
"Short hair is pretty good, easy to manage, and it won’t be grabbed by the twins."
Sienna hunched her shoulders; without long hair, the wind seeped down her neck, making her feel cold. It seems she’ll need to wear a scarf now after cutting it short.
"I don’t like you with short hair." Adrian struggled for a while before blurting this out.
"Oh, then I’ll grow it long again later."
Adrian has a thing for long hair, he always liked Sienna with flowing long locks, but Sienna didn’t fancy it. Not only is long hair troublesome to manage, but the twins also often liked to grab it, especially Hugo, who had a strong grip, pulling out a few strands every time.
"Since it’s cut, it’s cut; cut so short that people might mistake me for looking for a guy."
"What nonsense are you saying!" she retorted.
Sienna released his arm, hurried a few steps ahead, trying to create some distance. Adrian’s strides were large, closing the gap quickly; he always caught up in a few steps.
"Are you upset? You cut your hair and won’t even let me comment a bit?..."
"..."
"Fine, you cut your hair, I’ll cover myself in tattoos tomorrow... tattoos of snakes, how about cobras, colorful ones..."
Adrian deliberately chafed Sienna, who stopped in her tracks, turned around, and just stared at him with those dark eyes.
"Don’t look at me like that; if you’re ruthless, don’t blame me for being unkind." Adrian said this, obviously lacking confidence.
Sienna didn’t quarrel with him, merely uttered one sentence, "If you dare tattoo yourself all over, don’t come to my bed."
After saying that, Sienna continued walking ahead.
Winter days see early dark; it’s not even five, yet it was already getting dim, with the surroundings filled with ancient vines, old trees, and dusk crows creating a somewhat bleak scene.
Adrian watched the woman wrapped in a long down coat, hesitated a while, then went up to her.
"Alright, you’re a woman, I won’t get petty with you."
Sienna laughed aloud.
"What are you laughing at?"
"I find you quite amusing."
Adrian had a feeling this wasn’t a compliment. Passing by a lake, he saw some kids skating on it and dragged Sienna over.
"Adrian, no!" Sienna understood this man’s intention straight away, shaking her head to refuse.
"I haven’t tried it yet; come skate with me."
"Adrian, are you being childish? Look at who’s skating on the lake?"
They were all half-grown kids, tough country kids who weren’t afraid of pain when falling. There were even some as young as four or five, without adults accompanying them.
"Skating alone is childish; skating with you is romantic.
Mrs. Desmond, come on. Since you don’t want me to be childish and make you lose face, come skate with me." Adrian professed with righteous words.
"I don’t want to!"
"Mrs. Desmond, you know I love your long hair, without asking you cut it; I didn’t even fuss about it, and now you’re unwilling to skate with me?"
"What if we fall through?" Sienna cautiously said, "News often reports kids disobediently going to rivers to skate and falling through."
"Why don’t you worry about what to do if the sky falls?" Adrian mocked.
"If the sky falls, aren’t tall people supposed to handle it?" Sienna glanced at Adrian.
"If you fall through, don’t I have to catch you? Am I really gonna let you fall through to feed the fish?" Adrian took the hesitant woman onto the lake surface.
The lake surface was very slippery, with a thick layer of ice, and there were small fish swimming underneath, which was quite interesting.
"Do you know how to skate?" Sienna asked.
"I watched it on TV."
Sienna: ...
Adrian clearly didn’t know how, but with his athletic skills, he learned quickly, whereas Sienna couldn’t pick it up for being overly cautious.
"You’re truly clumsy."
Sienna glared at him defiantly, "Want to challenge me to a recitation contest!"
"Bookworm! What’s so great about reciting books?"
"What’s so great about skating?" Sienna came back with her own challenge.
Adrian couldn’t outtalk the sharp-witted woman, patiently teaching her. After all, skating is something that once you gather courage, you’ll learn, but Sienna, afraid of falling, didn’t let go, hence couldn’t learn.
"Ah..."
Just as Sienna’s bottom was about to hit the ground, Adrian pulled her up, but this time Adrian lost balance too, and both fell onto the ice.
"Ha-ha..." A group of kids laughed at them, "Why are you so dumb? You don’t even know how to skate..."
Embarrassed by the kids, Sienna’s face turned red, "It’s all your fault for making me get laughed at by children."
Adrian, being thick-skinned, wasn’t bothered; he got up and helped Sienna up. By then, it was already dark.
Some parents came to find their kids, calling them home for dinner, and Adrian and Sienna headed back too.
On the way, Adrian kept touching Sienna’s hair, and Sienna glared at him several times.
"Glare all you want, aren’t you afraid of your eyes going askew?" Adrian said.
"Then stop touching my hair."
"What’s wrong with me touching your hair?"
Sienna reached out to touch Adrian’s head, but he dodged, "Don’t touch my head!"
"Hmph, it’s fine when you touch me, but not the other way around?"
"Other than the head, feel free to touch anywhere else. Want to touch my ’little buddy’?"
"Get lost!" Sienna squeezed out the word through gritted teeth.
...
One morning, Paige opened her eyes, finding her daughter gone. She thought Kiya took Ella out to play and didn’t pay it much attention.
By breakfast time, Kiya was still nowhere to be seen; Paige then realized that Kiya had taken Ella back to Abyanabad.
