The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1345 - 1285: The Unwelcome Person
Dinner, the family gathered together, it was very lively.
Samara will take the college entrance exam in June, it’s only a few months away. She has evening self-study every day. Her mother said her sister returned, skipping class to come directly.
It was snowing outside, but inside the house it was very warm. The family gathered to make dumplings, even a few children came to join the fun.
"Curly, stop making dumplings, it’s a waste of ingredients," Sienna Johnson said.
Even if they look ugly, they can still be eaten. Curly’s dumplings had the filling exposed outside each one.
"Each has its strengths and weaknesses, everyone has things they’re not good at. I think you can spend the time practicing cooking elsewhere," Sienna Johnson comforted Curly.
Curly held a misshapen dumpling, looking dejected.
Curly truly has no talent for cooking, Dylan and George both make better dumplings than Curly.
Curly said in defeat, "Why is it like this? The steps are clearly the same."
Even Paige Desmond said, "Curly, you should go play with your sister."
George looked at Curly’s dejected face and comforted, "Curly, it doesn’t matter if you can’t make dumplings. In the future, you can eat mine whenever you want. Look, I also make them very well."
George showed Curly his dumplings; they were indeed well-made. Curly felt even more defeated, shifted his gaze from George’s dumplings, and went to play with Claire and Ella.
Pauline Briggs said, "This girl has the same stubborn temper as you did when you were little. She wants everything to be perfect, but how can people be fully perfect?"
Sienna Johnson also reflected on Curly’s upbringing, realizing she had been too strict, leading Curly to strive for perfection in everything.
George said, "Curly is great, in every way."
Pauline Briggs glanced at George, saying, "It’s almost Lunar New Year, aren’t you going home?"
"Abyanabad doesn’t celebrate Lunar New Year."
"You ungrateful boy, your parents gave birth to you for nothing, trailing behind a woman, forgetting all about them."
George argued, "I’m staying not just to pursue a wife but to take care of my grandfather."
"..."
"My grandfather is old, and he doesn’t want to return to Abyanabad with us. Of course, I’m staying to accompany him, and also for Curly," George said confidently.
Old people are always afraid of loneliness.
Having the grandson around has made the old man’s health even better. Sienna Johnson often hears the old man next door singing opera.
"Where’s your grandfather?" Sienna Johnson asked.
"My grandfather went fishing, didn’t wear much, caught a cold, and is sleeping now. Mother-in-law, when the dumplings are ready, could I bring some to him?"
"They’ll be cold if you send them over. I’ll have Sally invite him over later."
"Okay."
Samara called out, "Mom, the water’s boiling, should we cook the dumplings now?"
"Yes, cook some for the kids first," Pauline Briggs said.
"Alright."
Samara asked a few little ones, "How many dumplings do you want?"
Pauline Briggs said, "Just cook a plate first." This girl, might have been studying too much lately, her brain seems "slower."
"Okay."
Sienna Johnson’s phone rang, her hands covered in flour, so she called out, "Curly, Mom’s phone is ringing, can you answer it for me?"
"Sure."
Curly handed the rattle to Claire, walked over, took the phone from her mom’s pocket, and answered.
"Hello, this is Sienna Johnson’s phone, I’m her eldest daughter. Who are you looking for?"
Right off the bat, Curly spoke like a machine gun, saying it all at once.
"..."
"Hello, why aren’t you speaking?" Curly asked brightly.
Sienna Johnson molded a dumpling, set it down, wiped flour from her hands, and asked, "Who is it?"
"I don’t know, they’re not talking."
"Probably a wrong number; hang up."
"Don’t hang up!" the caller suddenly said.
"My mom is making dumplings. What do you want with her?"
"I’m not looking for Sienna Johnson, I’m looking for my mom...I’m looking for Pauline Briggs."
Curly asked, "Strange, why call my mom’s phone to find my grandmother?"
Curly still passed the phone to Pauline Briggs, "Grandma, a woman is looking for you, calling Mom’s phone."
Pauline Briggs patted the flour from her hands, answered, "Hello, who is this?"
"Mom..."
Pauline Briggs’ smile vanished immediately, she stood up quickly, took the phone, and walked out.
Sienna Johnson glanced at Pauline Briggs’s back, then returned her focus to making dumplings.
Samara brought out the dumplings, looked at her mother, and called out, "Mom, the dumplings are ready. Where are you going?"
Sienna Johnson said, "Mom has something to do, you go ahead and eat."
"I’ll feed some to the little ones." Samara carried the dumplings and took chopsticks to feed a few children.
"Aunt, I’m not a little one," Curly said.
"Then what are you?"
"I’m not anything."
Pauline Briggs entered the guest room, closed the door properly, then spoke, "Sabrina Johnson, why are you calling me again? I’ve said many times not to call me!"
Pauline Briggs was very angry, couldn’t believe that after blocking Sabrina Johnson’s number, she actually called Sienna’s phone.
"Mom, I miss you."
"I’m not your mom! Your mom is in prison!" Pauline Briggs’ tone was sharp and filled with fury.
This woman had stayed quiet for years and suddenly reappeared.
Pauline Briggs could not bear thinking about Sabrina Johnson’s actions; whenever she thought of Sienna, she felt a burning hatred. She had treated Sabrina Johnson so well, yet Sabrina Johnson killed the man she loved most.
"Mom, I know I was wrong."
"Sabrina Johnson, don’t call me again, or call Sienna! I warn you, if you don’t behave, I’ll tell my brother. He’s quite familiar with the prison warden where you are, I’ll make sure he ’takes good care’ of you."
"Mom, please forgive me, I know I was wrong... sob, sob..."
"Bring Dexter Johnson back to life and I’ll forgive you!"
Pauline Briggs could never forgive Sabrina Johnson.
Even raising a dog would be more loyal than raising Sabrina Johnson.
Not only did Sabrina Johnson kill Dexter Johnson, but she even smeared him.
Dexter Johnson, who valued reputation so much, couldn’t rest in peace even after death... When he was alive, Dexter Johnson wanted to send Sabrina Johnson away, but she couldn’t bear to do it, leaving behind a viper.
"Mom, I’m not asking for anything else, I just..."
Pauline Briggs didn’t want to hear another word, she hung up directly. Afraid she would call back, Pauline Briggs blocked the number.
"Sabrina Johnson, do you think I’m stupid and easy to deceive? How dare you try to fool me again!"
