The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 1291 - 1231: Fierce Battle

  • Next Chapter

At exactly four o’clock, one of the side doors of the Imperial Palace indeed opened, and five garbage trucks slowly drove out.

Adrian Desmond spoke into his earpiece, "Get ready!"

"Yes!"

A deliberately muted, synchronized voice came through the earpiece; everyone was poised and waiting for Adrian’s final command. They were about to take action.

In fact, they could have entered without using the main entrance; however, with the presence of His Majesty the Sultan for this mission, it would be more justified to storm in. Sneaking over the wall seemed inappropriate.

"Feels like I haven’t been back for a long time..." Kiya reflected as he looked at the Imperial Palace where he’d spent half his life.

Thinking of coming here alone this time while his wife and children were still in Sileria City, he felt quite regretful.

No matter how difficult the process, one day he would bring his queen back to share in the wealth and splendor with him.

Adrian looked at Kiya with disdain in his eyes and reminded him, "When we rush in later, hide behind me. I don’t want you getting shot dead."

"I’m not that useless." Kiya was speechless at being so despised.

When the last garbage truck was preparing to drive out, Adrian said, "Action!"

People hidden everywhere rushed over.

The eight guards at the entrance, not yet fully awake and still yawning, thought they were seeing things when they saw so many people in black.

The guards, struck on the neck with a hand chop, fainted without knowing what happened.

Adrian and Kiya didn’t take the lead; instead, they stayed at the back. Only when the obstacles were cleared did they move in. In this operation, Adrian stayed behind to personally protect Kiya.

Adrian asked, "Should we kill all those blocking our way, or leave some alive?" Many guards in the Imperial Palace used to be Kiya’s men.

Kiya said, "Wait!"

They stood at the entrance of the Imperial Palace, and the doors behind them closed, cutting off their retreat.

"Wait for what? This isn’t a good spot. If all the palace guards come, we’ll be sitting ducks.

You may want to die, but I don’t!"

"I’m waiting for Lucas."

Adrian cast a cold glance at Kiya, seeing him looking at his watch, suddenly said, "Time’s up..."

Footsteps approached, and Adrian, with keen hearing, picked up on the sound that many were coming.

Friend or foe?

Adrian tightened his grip on the sharp dagger in his hand; he preferred cold weapons over guns.

"Sultan?" A bearded man shouted excitedly upon seeing Kiya.

The bearded man wore a red and black uniform, the uniform of palace soldiers, and judging by the rank on his uniform, this man was of high rank, followed by a large group of soldiers, estimated to be five to six hundred.

"Lucas..." Kiya called out with a smile.

Lucas quickly walked up; Adrian watched the approaching man warily, gripping his dagger tightly, ready to strike and slice his throat at any sudden movement.

Lucas halted three meters from Kiya and performed a standard courtly salute.

"Sultan, is it really you?"

One hour ago, Lucas received a call from Kiya. In the dead of night under the dark sky, he suddenly received a call from the supposedly deceased Sultan, thinking it was a paranormal event.

Kiya shared some royal secrets with him, and only then did Lucas realize it wasn’t a paranormal call but a living Sultan, albeit still half doubting.

"It’s me, your Sultan!" Kiya declared emphatically.

"Sultan, you’re alive? ...If you’re alive, then whose body was it?"

"It was my body double!"

Kiya briefly recounted his ordeal. Hearing that it was the Night Owl who nearly killed Kiya, Lucas furiously said, "Sultan, just wait, I’ll take my soldiers and settle the score with the Night Owl!"

Lucas had long been dissatisfied with the masked Night Owl, and now, with a justified reason to confront him, Lucas was eager to find the Night Owl and settle scores.

"Alright!"

Kiya then turned to Adrian, "Have your men follow Lucas; he’s very familiar with the palace."

Lucas was the Chief Guard of the court, having served in the palace for twenty years; no one knew the palace defenses better than him.

Adrian called over Marion and Brandon Potter, instructing them to accompany Lucas.

With Lucas leading the way, things progressed much more smoothly. Though the Night Owl had seized power, Lucas’s decades-long influence still carried significant weight.

"His Majesty the Sultan has returned, drop your weapons!" Lucas’s booming voice made ears buzz with its intensity.

Kiya looked at the men blocking the way and majestically declared, "I am Kiya Hamza Al-Sabri, Sultan of Abyanabad!"

The palace guards all recognized Kiya; seeing the noble and majestic Sultan, and Lucas standing by his side, significantly convinced them.

Lucas bellowed, "His Majesty the Sultan orders you to drop your weapons. Are you trying to rebel?"

The former palace soldiers all dropped their weapons, while those who resisted were the Night Owl’s followers.

Adrian said, "For those who haven’t dropped their weapons, kill them all!"

Adrian’s men immediately aimed their guns at those resisting, and gunshots rang out, bringing many down.

The Night Owl had been severely wounded by Adrian before, and many of his men were dead or injured, leaving not many left. Thus, when the palace soldiers defected and with Adrian’s force of 15, it didn’t take long to rout the Night Owl’s followers.

Adrian showed no mercy to the Night Owl’s men, directly giving the order, "Kill all the Night Owl’s men!"

"Yes!"

The two groups clashed fiercely, gunfire resounded everywhere, the sounds of blades clashing, and people grappling filled the air... The scene was chaotic.

Adrian pulled Kiya to the outskirts of the battlefield, watching the slaughter coldly as the wind carried the scent of blood through the air.

Kiya also watched the battlefield coldly, then asked, "Aren’t you going to find the Night Owl and ask about Sienna Johnson’s whereabouts?"

"No need!"

By now, Sabrina Conner should have taken action; Sabrina would kill Albe and infiltrate the Night Owl’s side, waiting for an opportunity to discover Sienna Johnson’s whereabouts.

The Night Owl now had few people left; as long as Sabrina wasn’t discovered, she could soon find out Sienna’s whereabouts.

He couldn’t kill the Night Owl yet, at least not until he knew Sienna’s whereabouts.

"Once you’ve captured the Night Owl, I’ll leave him for you to deal with as you wish," Kiya promised Adrian.

Adrian, however, said nothing in response.
