The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 1155 - 1095: Delivering New Year Gifts to the Briggs Family

  • Next Chapter

Grandma Briggs looked at Adrian Desmond’s affection for his wife with relief, saying, "Sienna is blessed. Finding someone like Adrian, we can be at ease."

The Briggs family always felt sorry for Sienna Johnson’s experiences.

The daughters of the Johnson Family, originally should be cherished, but because of that little wild child, Sabrina Johnson, she suffered so much. Just thinking about it makes the Briggs family angry.

The sister-in-law echoed the old lady’s words, "Yes, when a woman gets married, it’s like a second reincarnation. The second reincarnation is far more important than the first. Finally, heaven has opened its eyes and not let down our Sienna."

Pauline Briggs, with reddened eyes, said, "It’s all my fault."

Sienna Johnson, feeling a headache coming on, held Pauline Briggs’ hand, "Mom, it’s Lunar New Year, why are you crying? If you cry, Grandma will feel distressed again."

Although Sienna Johnson had little contact with the Briggs family, she was still grateful to them; even during those years Pauline neglected her, the Briggs family never looked down on her.

Grandma Briggs, protective of her family, said, "Your nature is pure, encountering those wicked people, you were just deceived by them. In the future, when your father and I are no longer around, you should listen more to Sienna and Adrian’s opinions."

"Okay."

Grandma Briggs intended to entrust her family, and in her heart, her most concern was Pauline Briggs.

Sienna Johnson said, "Grandma, I will take good care of Mom."

Grandma Briggs looked at the intelligent Sienna Johnson joyfully. She knew her daughter’s character well, and having such a smart and capable daughter like Sienna was her daughter’s fortune.

Even if she were to die, she could be at ease.

Even though Sienna Johnson was a girl, she could still uphold the family.

"With you around, I’m at ease."

The old lady observed that Sienna Johnson indeed didn’t look well, thinking she might be tired, so she had a servant lead Sienna to a spacious and bright guest room.

The sister-in-law asked, "Is Sienna pregnant with twins this time?"

"Yes. We just don’t know if they’re boys or girls."

The sister-in-law said, "Boys or girls, both are good. If you have a granddaughter as well-behaved as Sienna, she won’t lose to any son in the family."

Pauline Briggs said, "I think so too, but my mother-in-law hopes Sienna can have a son."

Grandma Briggs said, "I understand your old lady’s feelings. No matter how capable a daughter is, a family still needs a man around."

"Yes, if I had given Sienna a brother, she wouldn’t have to work so hard." Pauline Briggs said guiltily.

The second sister-in-law said, "It’s all fated whether we have sons or daughters. Look at me; I’ve had two sons and wanted a daughter, but it wasn’t meant to be.

What I say is, we should gratefully accept whatever heaven gives us."

...

The Briggs family, unlike the Johnson Family, didn’t live in an old house from the Harald and Norden Dynasty. The Briggs family lived in a large European-style villa, with five floors up and down, and the family lived together harmoniously without splitting.

The servant led Sienna Johnson to a large bedroom on the sunny side of the third floor.

Sienna Johnson indeed felt tired, lying on the bed, closing her eyes for a moment, Adrian Desmond took off her shoes and massaged her legs.

"You don’t have to, my legs aren’t swollen." Sienna Johnson said.

"Relax, relax, it’s comfortable."

Because when giving birth to Sheehan, Adrian Desmond was always by Sienna’s side, now Adrian’s actions were very adept.

"Was your stay in Abyanabad smooth?" Sienna Johnson asked with concern.

"It was okay." Adrian said perfunctorily.

Sienna Johnson slowly opened her eyes and asked, "What about the Night Owl? Is the Night Owl in the Abyanabad palace?"

This was the issue most pressing on Sienna Johnson’s mind at present.

The Night Owl was like a sword hovering overhead, not knowing when it might fall and spill blood.

"Yeah."

Sienna Johnson wasn’t satisfied with his attitude, sat up, stared into his eyes, and asked, "Explain it in more detail."

"He was in the Abyanabad palace, but later the Night Owl heard some rumors and ran away. Doctor X was captured by me, but then the Night Owl escaped again." Adrian briefly explained the situation to Sienna Johnson.

"Didn’t Doctor X say where the Night Owl went?"

"No."

Sienna Johnson frowned, "Didn’t you properly interrogate Doctor X?"

Adrian raised his eyes to look at Sienna Johnson and said, "Doctor X was just a discarded pawn for the Night Owl. Do you think the Night Owl would really tell Doctor X his whereabouts?"

"What do you mean?"

Adrian then explained to Sienna Johnson how the Night Owl used Doctor X as a decoy, pulling off a clever escape, causing Sienna Johnson to frown even more.

"This Night Owl, too cunning." Sienna Johnson said with a headache.

"However, Doctor X is dead, one of the Night Owl’s powerful claws has finally been severed." Adrian didn’t say he was the one who did it, as he didn’t want to ruin the image Sienna Johnson had of him.

"Those who do evil will meet their end, Doctor X committed so many crimes, and it’s retribution." Sienna Johnson didn’t feel any sympathy for Doctor X.

The wronged souls under Doctor X’s hands were countless, his death was not unjust at all.

Adrian didn’t believe in such things as retribution, he looked at Sienna Johnson’s tightly furrowed brows but didn’t refute her.

"The Night Owl hasn’t called me either. If he could give me a call, we could locate where he is hiding." Sienna Johnson said regretfully.

Adrian said irritably, "Mrs. Desmond, I’d rather other men not call you."

Sienna Johnson raised her eyes to glare at Adrian and said, "What are you jealous about? I’m just hoping the Night Owl can be caught soon."

Sienna Johnson had been having a twitchy eyelid lately, always feeling like something was about to happen.

"Even so, I still don’t want another man calling you."

"Got it."

Adrian’s hand moved upwards, becoming more mischievous, heading towards her inner thigh, but luckily she was wearing pants, so he couldn’t get his way.

"Stop it, we’re at my grandfather’s house."

"Did you miss me?" he teased her, his thin lips kissing her eyes, eyebrows, nose... finally landing on her longing lips, kissing gently for a moment before the kiss turned rough.

Knock, knock... Someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Adrian snapped irritably, as their moment was interrupted.

Sienna Johnson, out of breath from Adrian’s kisses, blushed, her watery eyes making Adrian itch for her even more.

"Cousin, cousin-in-law, it’s Violet..." Violet Evans said timidly from outside the door, seemingly startled by Adrian’s earlier tone.

Violet Evans was the daughter of Lucy Briggs, Sienna Johnson’s elder cousin, two years younger than Sienna but had to call her cousin. Because of Pauline, Sienna had a high status in the Briggs family.

"Violet, come in."

Sienna Johnson used her coat to cover the small tent over Adrian’s lap, and Adrian didn’t move from his place by her side.

The door opened, and Violet Evans came in, accompanied by another very beautiful girl.

"Cousin, cousin-in-law."
