Chapter 1156 - 1096: I Have No Diploma
"Hi Violet."
Violet Evans pulled the girl beside her and introduced her to Sienna Johnson, "Aunt, this is my cousin Ivy Evans."
"Hello Aunt, hello Uncle." Ivy Evans greeted.
Her voice was gentle and pleasant, her demeanor charming, combined with her bright eyes, white teeth, and fair smooth skin, she truly was an attractive beauty with charisma.
The three of them were around the same age, they were all young and unmarried, while Sienna was about to become a mother of four children, which made her feel a bit complicated.
"You two can just call me Sienna. I’m only a few years older than you. Calling me Aunt-in-law doesn’t feel right." Sienna really couldn’t get used to such a big generation gap.
"That’s why Aunt is so impressive, you’re only two years older than me, and not only did you find such a handsome husband, you also have two kids. My mom always uses you as an example, forcing me to go on blind dates."
"..."
"My mom is really something, this kind of fate is hard to come by. Just like you and Uncle, so far apart yet still fated to meet."
"..."
"Aunt, my feelings towards you are a mix of love and hate."
Violet Evans was cheerful and talkative. Though Sienna and Violet had only met a few times and weren’t very familiar, Violet made her feel at ease as if they were close friends.
"Violet, you’re so beautiful and adorable, you’ll definitely find your other half." Sienna wished her.
"Then go tell my mom that. You should tell her not to force me into blind dates. My mom thinks I’m like clothes in a shop that have been out of season; if I don’t hurry and get married, I’ll have to go on a clearance sale, and even a clearance sale won’t get me anywhere."
Violet’s words amused Sienna, "If you’re on a clearance sale, what does that mean for everyone else?"
"That’s just how my mom sees it." Violet showed an expression of distress.
Beside her, Ivy laughed, "Sis, it’s not as exaggerated as you say."
"Ivy, your mom is different from mine. My mom is just that exaggerated and unreasonable. If possible, I really want to swap moms with you."
Ivy smiled gently and said, "Sure, let’s swap."
Adrian Desmond gripped Sienna’s hand slightly harder. Sienna turned to glance at him, and Adrian signaled to her with his eyes: quickly get rid of those two women.
Sienna pretended not to notice, since this was the Briggs Family’s place, she was a guest, she couldn’t just chase people away.
"Oh, right, Violet, why did you come to see me?" Sienna asked.
Violet held Ivy’s hand and said, "It’s Ivy who wants to see Uncle. Ivy knows that Uncle is from Abyanabad and insisted on coming to have a look.
Aunt, Ivy is currently a sophomore at Abyanabad University, studying linguistics."
Sienna looked at Ivy, rather surprised, not expecting there to be relatives in the Briggs Family studying in Abyanabad.
"Abyanabad is a small country, why choose to study there instead of in Avrupa?"
In Orienta, popular destinations for studying abroad are places like Avrupa and Westoria. Smaller countries like Abyanabad are really rare.
"I really like that country, Abyanabad." Ivy glanced at Adrian, speaking softly.
"Abyanabad is so beautiful. Aunt, why don’t you and Uncle settle there?" Violet asked.
"I can’t leave at the moment; maybe when we get older, Adrian and I will move to Abyanabad."
Ivy nudged Violet’s arm, and the two sisters exchanged a look. Violet cleared her throat and said, "Well, Aunt, we have a small favor to ask."
"What is it?"
"Ivy is studying at university in Abyanabad, and while her Amwan Language is fine for daily conversations, she’s not very good at the professional terms. She wants Uncle to tutor her a bit." Violet said.
Sienna didn’t expect that the reason those two girls came over was for this. Sienna wasn’t unwilling to help, it’s just that...
"Adrian hasn’t gone to school."
The two sisters: ...
Adrian also said, "My Amwan Language is only at the level of daily conversation, I can’t understand the professional terms either. Oh, I don’t even have a primary school diploma."
Illiterate?
Ivy had that thought flash through her mind but didn’t say it aloud. She looked at the handsome man who seemed like he stepped out of a comic book, feeling a slight regret.
"How can that be?"
Sienna was about to explain that although Adrian didn’t have a diploma, he had private tutors when he was young. Adrian interjected, "My parents passed away early, the family was poor, we couldn’t afford school. Sorry, I can’t help."
Ivy was unwilling to give up and persisted, "Then has Uncle ever thought about going to university to study and learn something?"
Adrian had long run out of patience; seeing them as Sienna’s relatives was the only reason he hadn’t thrown them out.
—What does it matter to her whether I study or not?!
"I’m not smart, and I’m not interested in studying." Adrian shut her down with a single sentence.
Realizing the conversation had reached a dead end, Violet stepped in to smooth things over, "Got it, then forget it."
Sienna smiled and said, "Adrian, do you know any Abyanabad people with high educational backgrounds? Maybe you can introduce a few to Ivy?"
"Among the people I know, none have high diplomas."
But isn’t Aaron a PhD graduate? Sienna didn’t understand why Adrian said that, but she didn’t expose him.
Violet noticed Adrian’s impatience and sensibly said a few polite words before dragging Ivy away.
Only the two of them were left in the room. Sienna glared at Adrian and said, "Why are you so unwilling to help? They’re relatives after all."
The look in Ivy’s eyes clearly showed something on her mind, and Adrian, with so many things going on, didn’t want to waste precious time on people like her.
"Mrs. Desmond, aren’t we already troubled enough? You want to take on more yourself?"
Sienna didn’t insist and said, "If you’re unwilling, then let it be."
Adrian got up and locked the door.
The sound of the door lock made Sienna frown, "Adrian, this is Grandfather’s house, don’t do anything reckless."
"I’m going crazy for you."
Adrian lunged at her, but avoided pressing down on her stomach, starting to undress her. Since it was winter, she was wearing quite a bit, and Adrian put in quite some effort.
"You’re always like a greedy kitten..." Sienna teased as she watched his eager behavior.
"Mrs. Desmond, I’ve never had my fill."
Since Sienna was pregnant, Adrian had her kneel on the bed, her hips high, with the shallow, beautiful curve on her lower back extending all the way down to the hips before disappearing between them, looking exceptionally alluring.
This sight made his mind go a bit numb; stepping forward, he grabbed her still slender waist, his slightly calloused palm feeling her smooth skin, stirring an irresistible urge within him.
