The Jade Emperor slapped the back of the chair, pointing at Long Fei, trembling with anger, and said, "How dare you insult me so! The divine right of kings is an eternal truth. Long Fei looked at the Jade Emperor calmly and said, "My words end here; whether you listen is entirely up to the Jade Emperor. If today you are determined to kill the couple Yang Tianyou and his wife, then the Five Elders of the Five Directions shall depart to the Mortal Realm with me!"

The Jade Emperor scoffed coldly at the Five Elders of the Five Directions and said, "Will they go with you?"

He looked down from above, exuding authority, and said, "Do you truly think you are somebody of worth? You are merely a sham position bestowed by me, and yet you wish to interfere in the affairs of my Heavenly Court?"

The Five Elders of the Five Directions said to the Jade Emperor, "We are commanded to aid the Jade Emperor, to govern the Three Realms, and safeguard its peace. If the Jade Emperor does not understand, we need no longer abide by this law and shall naturally descend to the Mortal Realm to seek a new chosen one."

The Jade Emperor’s eyes flared with fury, and he stood up angrily, "Do you also seek to defy me?"

The Five Elders responded, "We abide by the heavenly law, not the Jade Emperor. We urge the Jade Emperor to think thrice before acting."

Wen Zhong, the Thunder Department Celestial Venerable, led the other gods out and stood with the Five Elders, saying, "We are willing to leave with the Five Emperors!"

Wen Zhong, leader of the Sect of Severance gods, stood forth, prompting other minor gods from the sect to follow and stand alongside Wen Zhong.

In an instant, most of the Divine Monarchs in the hall stood forth; only Taibai Venus and a group of unaffiliated Divine Monarchs remained apart.

Xingtian and Jiufeng looked excited, unable to contain their passion, shouted at the Five Elders and the gods, "You five old codgers, do you really think you are indispensable? Stay if you want, leave if not. The Jade Emperor has us to guard and assist; he does not need you worrying for him."

The Divine Monarchs, not willing to completely break with the Jade Emperor, honored the Heavenly Empress Mother’s words, granting the Jade Emperor an advantageous exit.

The Divine Monarchs together clasped fists and paid respects to the Heavenly Empress Mother before retreating.

The Yu Prison Star Lord, Wen Jie, also took people to escort Yang Jian’s parents away again; as the two passed by Long Fei and Sun Wukong, they offered respectful thanks.

This place was decidedly more comfortable than the Jade Emperor’s Heavenly Court.
