Chapter 2687 - 2685: The Battle for Hearts

Chapter 2687: Chapter 2685: The Battle for Hearts

Yunhua Immortal on the Immortal Slaying Stage was already a figure of tears, reaching out repeatedly trying to grasp Yang Tianyou.

Yang Tianyou reached out, clasping her hand with a pang of guilt, said, "Yunhua, I’ve made you suffer."

Yunhua Immortal shook her head and said, "No suffering, to die together with you, I am content."

"Good, good."

Yang Tianyou sighed with tears and shouted at the distant Jade Emperor, "What if you are the Heavenly Emperor? You can kill us, but you cannot destroy our love!"

"Audacious!"

The Jade Emperor shouted angrily, "Execute them!"

The Lords of the Thunder Department prepared their magical weapons, suddenly summoning heavenly thunder.

With a loud boom, thunder rolled, forming a golden long sword, slashing directly at the two of them.

At this moment, an iron rod suddenly crossed the sky, thrusting into the midst of the thunder.

With a loud crack, the lightning was drawn to the ground by this iron rod.

With crackling sounds, it all dissipated in an instant.

The divine generals exclaimed in surprise, "Who dares to obstruct the execution?"

Sun Wukong and Long Fei revealed their forms, standing beside Yang Tianyou and Yunhua, helping them remove the Immortal Binding Rope from their bodies.

"Great Sage Equal to Heaven?"

A group of Star Lords exclaimed in shock; evidently, more people recognized Sun Wukong than Long Fei.

The Jade Emperor was also somewhat startled by these two unexpected guests, and with some displeasure shouted at Sun Wukong, "Victorious Fighting Buddha, you are now part of the Buddhist Sect, why do you come to make trouble in my Heavenly Court?"

Sun Wukong clasped his hands in greeting and laughed, "Old Jade Emperor, I salute you. I’m not here to make trouble, I’m here to reason with you."

"Oh?"

The Jade Emperor raised his eyebrows and shouted, "What do you want to reason about?"

Sun Wukong gestured to Long Fei, "Let my brother speak to you, I’m here to assist him."

It was the first time the Jade Emperor saw Long Fei, still somewhat unfamiliar and asked, "And who is this?"

Taibai Venus hurriedly whispered from the side, "Jade Emperor, this is the Eastern Emperor."

The Jade Emperor suddenly became furious beyond measure, not expecting two rebels to appear at once, and they were brothers?

He darkened his face and addressed Long Fei, "Eastern Emperor, why are you not staying on Liangshan Island and instead coming to the Heavenly Court for what business?"

Long Fei held his hands behind him, smiling calmly at the Jade Emperor, "As the Eastern Emperor, I naturally have the right to come to the Heavenly Court to discuss matters. And not only me, today the Five Elders of the Five Directions are also here to discuss with the Jade Emperor!"

"Five Elders of the Five Directions?"

The Jade Emperor raised his eyebrows, "Nonsense, the Five Elders of the Five Directions have long passed away, where are they?"

In the void, five beams of light simultaneously arrived, manifesting before the divine generals.

Five elders dressed in various colored Taoist robes appeared, each clasping their hands in greeting to the Jade Emperor, "Jade Emperor, greetings!"

The Jade Emperor exclaimed in wonder, "You, you have returned?"

All five elders nodded, "We have returned, the time of opportunity has come, we naturally return."

"It is good to have you back, it is good to have you back!"

The Jade Emperor let out a deep breath, since he became emperor, Daoist Supreme Hongjun dispatched Sanqing and Four Imperials, the Five Elders of the Five Directions assisted from the side.

These people held high status, indistinguishable from him in the Heavenly Court.

He was surprised that these five had come together with Long Fei and Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong looked at Long Fei, also somewhat surprised, finally understood why Long Fei had such confidence, daring to negotiate with the Jade Emperor.

All the divine monarchs in the Heavenly Court paid respects to the Five Elders of the Five Directions, only Xingtian and Jiufeng stood coldly aside, saying nothing.

The Jade Emperor said in a deep voice, "Today I have two sinners to punish, please wait until I punish them before discussing matters.".

Long Fei said, "This matter concerns the foundation of the Heavenly Court and involves Yang Tianyou and his wife, so it must be discussed before punishing them!"

"Very well, then let’s discuss it in the Heaven-Piercing Palatial Hall!"

The Jade Emperor called them up to the Heaven-Piercing Palatial Hall, all the divine monarchs arranged themselves in order, with the Five Elders of the Five Directions and Long Fei, Sun Wukong in the middle speaking to the Jade Emperor.

Xingtian scrutinized Long Fei for a while, feeling like he had seen this person somewhere before.

Jiufeng’s expression also changed subtly, not expecting Long Fei to be the Eastern Emperor of the Heavenly Court.

She hadn’t seen Long Fei since their parting in the Chaotic Sea of the Human Realm, it was the first time meeting him now.

The Five Elders of the Five Directions looked at the divine monarchs on both sides with a bit of a sigh, "There are fewer people here."

The Jade Emperor said, "A group of rebels has already defected from the Heavenly Court, I will capture them all up to heaven another day! I don’t know what the Five Elders have returned for, what matters they want to discuss?"

The Five Elders of the Five Directions closed their eyes, leaving this matter to Long Fei.

Long Fei asked the Jade Emperor, "May I ask, what crime have Yang Tianyou and his wife committed?"

The Jade Emperor said, "Married without permission, great treason. Escaped the Heavenly Prison, an even greater crime. Son’s rebellion, unforgivable.".

Long Fei laughed and said, "There is cause and effect, everything stems from their unauthorized marriage. According to heavenly regulations, how should it be punished?"

The Jade Emperor said coldly, "Execute without mercy!"

Long Fei nodded and said, "Very well, then may I ask the Jade Emperor, when they were originally captured by the Heavenly Court, why were they not executed without mercy?"

"You..."

The Jade Emperor was asked with annoyance, replied with a dark face, "This Yunhua is my own sister, I considered our familial bond, so I didn’t kill her and spared their lives, is there any issue with that?"

Long Fei said, "Of course there’s an issue, the Jade Emperor’s law enforcement is lax, favoritism and malfeasance. Since heavenly regulations dictate so, why spare your own sister? As far as I know, there are many immortals in the Heavenly Court who have illicit connections with mortals. Some were killed, some were demoted to the mortal realm, why can’t the Jade Emperor handle the matter impartially?"

Sun Wukong glanced sideways at Long Fei, thinking inwardly which side this guy was on?

Why not speak for Yang Tianyou and his wife, and even want to condemn them?

The Jade Emperor was left speechless, retorted, "I’m not trying to fix the stable after the horse has bolted, just trying to rejudge their crimes!"

Long Fei nodded and smiled, "Very well, let’s not mention it. May I ask the Jade Emperor, who set the heavenly regulations that immortals cannot marry?"

The Jade Emperor said, "Naturally, it was me!"

Long Fei asked, "If that’s the case, why can the Jade Emperor marry the Heavenly Empress Mother? And why can you have seven daughters?"

Sun Wukong laughed from the side, "Those seven daughters are quite beautiful! I heard that the seventh fairy also secretly met with Dong Yong in the mortal realm, and is now imprisoned in the Weaver Girl Star!"

Suddenly all the divine monarchs became agitated, each speechless, thinking these two were here to stir up trouble today!

The Jade Emperor trembled with fury, shouted at Long Fei, "I am the chosen one, a supreme sovereign, the creator and enforcer of heavenly regulations and the Heavenly Dao, why must I answer to a mere immortal like you? What is your intent in challenging heavenly authority?"

Long Fei met his gaze and said, "Since it’s a heavenly regulation, it should naturally be fair and reasonable. If the Jade Emperor is above heavenly regulations, altering them at will, judging the life and death of others by whim, then what is the use of heavenly regulations? Everyone in the Heavenly Court works, yet their life or death is determined by the Jade Emperor’s mood. A slight misstep, and a thousand, ten thousand years of cultivation is destroyed. Either demoted to the mortal realm or thrown into the Heavenly Prison, where is everyone’s dignity? Where is everyone’s safety? Is everyone indeed an immortal, or merely a dog of the Jade Emperor’s household?"

The divine monarchs murmured quietly, feeling he was speaking directly to their hearts, nearly cheering for Long Fei.

Even though each is a noble divine monarch, in front of the Jade Emperor, they are no better than dogs.

Remember when the dignified Marshal Tianpeng, the Curtain-Lifting General, was for slight offenses banished by the Jade Emperor to the mortal realm.

Let alone some insignificant immortals, any small mistake could lead to complete obliteration.

Here in the Heavenly Court, what dignity is there to speak of?

Only a few high-ranking powerful immortals can do as they please in the Heavenly Court, and the Jade Emperor does not even dare to utter a word.
