The Art of Pursuing: The Unyielding Ex-wife
Chapter 732: Why hasn’t Munni girl gotten pregnant yet?
Before leaving, Bai Wan Yun informed Munni that a friend was visiting Grandma Xu in her room, but Munni could go directly in and also greet Grandma Xu’s friend.
Munni nodded, and after seeing Bai Wan Yun off, got up and headed towards Grandma Xu’s room.
The door to Grandma Xu’s room was ajar, and as Munni, with a smile on her face, was about to knock, she suddenly heard Grandma Xu sigh, "I’m not getting any younger, all I hope for now is to hold a great-grandchild soon."
Grandma Xu had always longed to hold a great-grandchild, but she never expressed it in front of Munni because she didn’t want to pressure her.
Today, a good friend came to visit her, and mentioning her adorable great-grandchild repeatedly stirred a wave of envy in Grandma Xu.
"Why hasn’t Munni gotten pregnant yet? Did they go to the hospital for a check-up?"
"Yes, everything’s normal."
After pondering for a moment, Grandma Xu’s friend hesitantly spoke, "Since everything’s normal, could it be that they just don’t plan to have children for now? Why not urge them a bit? Young people these days are quite willful, and many choose not to have kids."
"No need to urge; both Munni and Yisen have their own thoughts, and I don’t want to pressure them. If... if they’ve really decided not to have kids, then let them be."
Despite saying this, Grandma Xu’s final tone revealed a hint of undistinguishable disappointment.
Grandma Xu’s words made her friend anxious, "How can you just let the kids decide? If you ask me, you’re too indulgent with them. Obviously, you long for them to have a child more than anyone, yet you go along with whatever they do. You said your only wish is to hold a great-grandchild, but if they choose not to have kids, wouldn’t that wish be unfulfilled?"
Another sigh came from inside the room, more heartwrenching than the last.
Standing outside the door, Munni was a bit at a loss, a surge of guilt and helplessness almost overwhelming her.
She tried hard to calm her emotions, and after a while, she finally managed a smile, reaching out to knock on Grandma Xu’s door.
"Come in."
Munni pushed the door open, her face beaming as usual, she cheerfully said, "Grandma, I’ve come to see you."
She then turned her head to greet the friend sitting beside Grandma Xu’s bed with enthusiasm, "Grandma Zhang, how have you been? How is your health lately?"
"Not too bad, and you? Have you been busy recently?"
"So-so."
"You’re not getting any younger, when do you plan to have a child with Yisen?"
Grandma Xu hadn’t expected her friend to directly ask Munni this, fearing Munni might feel awkward, she quickly interjected before Munni could open her mouth, "You’re always meddling. Aren’t you supposed to go for a check-up with your daughter-in-law soon?"
Grandma Zhang couldn’t miss Grandma Xu’s partiality towards Munni, she shook her head helplessly and said to the pale-faced Grandma Xu on the bed, "Well, I’m heading back now, I’ll visit you another day. Take care."
"Got it, got it, take care."
After Grandma Zhang left the room, Grandma Xu affectionately beckoned Munni to come closer.
Munni obediently sat in the chair Grandma Zhang had just vacated, "Grandma, how do you feel today?"
"Not bad, and how about you and Yisen lately?"
"We’re doing well too."
Finishing her sentence, Munni handed the gift bag she was carrying to Grandma Xu, "It’s getting cold, I knitted a scarf for you, do you like it?"
