Chapter 413 - 136: Mama! You’re All My Good Mamas

Pale Elegy gently tapped her folding fan against her palm, clearly swayed.

But then she frowned. "That may be so... but Brutalus was an Abyss Demon Lord in life. Even as a remnant soul, his strength cannot be underestimated. I am currently in a projected state, with only a wisp of my soul here. The power I can call upon is extremely limited. I'm afraid I won't be able to take him down alone. If he escapes, the loss would far outweigh any gain."

"That's why we have to team up!"

Lynch immediately turned to the Moon Priestess, striking while the iron was hot. "Mother Priestess, if you and Mother Elegy were to join forces, could you take down Brutalus's berserk remnant soul? If you can eliminate him, not only will you have your revenge, but you'll also remove this hidden danger from your doorstep for good..."

The Moon Priestess, Song of Elune, fell silent for a moment before her cool voice slowly sounded. "If I were to fight him alone, I'm afraid I would be unable to do anything to him either. After all, I am merely a remnant soul now, whereas he has been nourished by the Abyssal Demonic Qi and has grown even more berserk than before... If we were to join forces, however, I would be quite confident."

She paused, her brow furrowing slightly. "But the problem is, he seemed to have been frightened earlier and has hidden himself deep within the dark ruins. If he refuses to come out, and only flees or hunkers down, there's nothing we can do..."

"I already have a plan for that!"

A sharp glint flashed in Lynch's eyes as he lowered his voice. "I made contact with his consciousness just now. I discovered that while Brutalus's remnant soul still has a sliver of reason, it's not much. It's nothing compared to the state you're in, Mother Priestess... He's mostly acting on instinct."

He analyzed, "You and he are mortal enemies, Mother Priestess. He died at your hands, and his soul has lingered for thousands of years without dissipating; he must hate you to the bone. If he had a chance to devour your soul and take revenge for what happened back then, he definitely wouldn't be able to resist..."

"So?" Pale Elegy raised an eyebrow.

"So we can put on a show!" Lynch said excitedly. "He doesn't dare come out right now mainly because both of you mothers are here, and neither of you is injured. If... the two of you were to get into a fight and create the illusion that you've both suffered heavy losses, Brutalus would most likely be lured out, wanting to reap the rewards of your conflict."

The more he spoke, the more excited he became. "Then, the two of you can suddenly turn on him and beat him down. Once you have him under control, I can use my Profound Yin Qi from the sidelines to wear away the Evil Qi and Demonic Qi on his body... With the three of us as a family working together, how could we possibly fail to take him down?"

"'A family of three?'" The two mothers snorted coldly at the same time, but they didn't refute it.

Lynch read their expressions and knew he had a chance. He quickly added, "Of course, even though the three of us are family, we should still divide the spoils of war beforehand. Even blood brothers keep clear accounts... Whatever is left of Brutalus's remnant soul, Mother Elegy takes forty percent, and Mother Priestess takes forty percent. As for your son, I'll just take a small fee for my strategic planning and soul-purifying hard work—twenty percent... What do you two think?"

Pale Elegy and the Moon Priestess glanced at each other.

A moment later, Pale Elegy gave a lazy smile. "Hmm... I suppose that idea isn't entirely without merit."

The Moon Priestess also nodded slightly, a glint of cold killing intent flashing through her cool eyes. "Agreed. As long as we can completely eliminate Brutalus, I have no objections."

"Then it's settled!" Lynch slapped his thigh, ecstatic. "Let's start setting the stage..."

A few moments later, Lynch presented the script he had hastily written.

The content was very simple.

The two mothers would fight over the "right to discipline" him, their son. The fight would escalate, growing more and more heated until both sides suffered grievous injuries. Finally, both of their projections would dissipate, leaving only their remnant souls struggling to survive.

"This... isn't this a little too fake?" Lynch looked at the two mothers, feeling a bit uncertain. "After all, just a moment ago you were..."

"Shut up." Pale Elegy tapped him on the head with her folding fan. "When we act, what need is there for you to teach us?"

The Moon Priestess also shot him a cold glance. "Just watch."

Before the words had even faded, the figures of the two mothers had already vanished from their spot.

「The next instant—」

"BOOM—!!"

Deep within the dark ruins outside the ancient structure, a world-shaking collision of energy suddenly erupted!

Looking through Baring's eyes, Lynch saw a silver moon and a sea of blood violently collide in mid-air. The resulting shockwave swept outward, directly razing all the crumbling walls and broken ramparts within a radius of several miles to the ground.

The twisted, dead trees and shattered stone pillars didn't even last half a second against the aftershocks of these two powers, being crushed to dust as if they were made of paper.

"You shameless Vampire, you think you're worthy of being a mother to my son, Lynch?!" The Moon Priestess brandished her scepter, and countless streams of moonlight transformed into Moon Arrows that shot toward Pale Elegy.

"Hehe~~" Pale Elegy chuckled lightly. With a slight twirl of the Sunshade Umbrella in her hand, it transformed into a crimson barrier, blocking all the incoming Moon Arrows. "I, at least, am a living Demigod. Unlike you, who is nothing but a remnant soul lingering on its last breath. And you dare to call yourself my son's mother?"

"You bitch~!"

"Right back at you~"

The two of them argued as they fought, their voices, accompanied by intense booming sounds, spreading across the sky above the entire Ancient Battlefield ruins.

Hiding deep within the battlefield ruins, Brutalus was both terrified and stunned.

He was terrified because these two incredibly powerful individuals had actually started fighting right on his ruined battlefield.

'What if, in the middle of their fight, they end up knocking me out of the ruins and then team up to deal with me?'

And he was stunned because, judging by the content of their argument, they were actually fighting over that young brat!
