Chapter 387: Chapter 132: Kill Lynch! Execute the Scum

Then, the goblin leader in goggles and the red-robed Warlock, Carlos, also descended.

They were followed by a dozen or so Wanderers and Warriors in Blue Scarf uniforms, as well as...

’Hm?!’ Black Thorn’s pupils contracted sharply.

From the airship’s cargo hold, more than a hundred burly Giants unexpectedly began to file out.

These Giants were typically over eight feet tall, their bodies rippling with muscle. Tusks jutted from their faces, and they carried massive stone axes and Wolf Fang Clubs. One look was enough to tell they were formidable fighters.

"What’s going on with these Giants?!" Black Thorn warily gripped the hilt of the shortsword at his waist, and the Dark Thorn Department Soldiers behind him raised their weapons in unison.

"Oh, relax, relax!" The red-robed Warlock, Carlos, waved his hand and said in a languid tone, "I was on a mission in Angelo Mountain a while back and ended up subjugating the local Giant Demon Tribe. These fellows have voracious appetites and are a pain to keep around. I heard you were fighting a war here, so I figured I’d bring them over to lend some support."

Upon hearing this, a flicker of greed and excitement lit up in the eyes of the Iron Fang Battle Group commander and Black Thorn.

They were well aware of the combat prowess of the Giant Demon Race. With their thick hides, boundless strength, and potent regenerative abilities, they were the perfect shock troops.

And with the addition of this Goblin Airship and those elite Blue Scarves...

With these reinforcements, they might actually be able to crack that turtle shell of a fortress at Grey Stone Pass.

"Hahaha, so it’s Brother Carlos and our goblin friends from the Venture Company." The Iron Fang Battle Group commander’s face instantly broke into a warm smile as he strode forward to greet them. "Forgive my poor reception! Please, forgive me! Quick, set up a feast! Bring out the finest wine and meat!"

"Yes, yes! As for supplies, we have more than enough," Black Thorn added, his face wreathed in smiles. "Our Giant brothers must be weary from their journey. Come down and eat with us! We can talk as we eat!"

A long table was quickly set up in the center of the camp. All sorts of delicacies—roasted whole sheep, strong spirits, and bread—were brought out and piled high on the table like a small mountain.

The goblin leader, who introduced himself as Ginko Wrench, was ushered to the seat of honor at the head of the table.

After a few cups of strong liquor, his face was flushed red and his tongue had loosened considerably.

"Bro... brothers!" Ginko slurred, slapping his chest and letting out a loud burp. "We’re all family here! Helpin’ you out... *hic*... no problem! The bombs on the airship, these Giants... use ’em all! What’s takin’ one lousy pass? You can count on us!"

"Then we’re in your debt, Brother Ginko!" The Iron Fang Battle Group commander said with a wide smile, pouring Ginko another drink. "By the way, Brother Ginko, you mentioned finding something good on Angelo Mountain? Why not bring it out and let us brothers feast our eyes on it?"

"He’s right!" Black Thorn also leaned in, his eyes glinting with curiosity. "What kind of treasure is it? Let us have a look, eh?"

Ginko hesitated, his eyes darting about beneath his goggles.

Seeing this, the Iron Fang Battle Group commander and Black Thorn immediately showered him with another round of enthusiastic compliments, praising him to the skies.

Ginko grew dizzy from the flattery. Seeing the expectant looks from the crowd around him, and unable to resist the fervent pleas of his ’good brothers,’ he finally slapped his thigh and relented. "Fine! Since we’re all brothers here, I’ll let you feast your eyes!"

He turned his head and barked a few phrases in the Goblin Language toward the airship.

A moment later, seven or eight Giants came grunting and straining out of the airship’s cargo hold, carrying a massive, white jade sarcophagus.

The sarcophagus was crafted entirely from pure white jade. Nearly twenty feet long, its surface was unadorned with any carvings. It looked rather plain, but emanated a faint, chilling aura.

Moreover, it looked incredibly heavy; even with seven or eight Giants carrying it, they were still clearly struggling.

"What is this...?" Both Black Thorn and the Iron Fang Battle Group commander rose to their feet and curiously gathered around it.

The Giants set the sarcophagus on the ground.

"Heh heh... You’ll see in a moment."

Ginko said with a smug grin.

He stood up and staggered over to the sarcophagus. After fumbling along its surface for a moment, he quickly found the mechanism.

CLICK...

The sarcophagus lid slowly slid open, revealing what was inside.

Everyone leaned in to look and immediately gasped.

Lying within the sarcophagus was an Abyssal Demon, its body over thirteen feet long.

It radiated an unnatural, deathly cold. A pair of ragged, bat-like wings protruded from its back, and two curved horns grew from its head. Judging by its condition, it had clearly been dead for a long time.

But even in ’death,’ its body still emanated a terrifying, suffocating pressure.

"Th-this is an Abyssal Demon?!" Black Thorn’s eyes widened in shock. "Brother Ginko, what is this for?"

Ginko lifted his head, a bizarre smile on his face. All traces of drunkenness vanished as his voice suddenly became sober and ice-cold.

"To kill you, of course!"

"What?!" Black Thorn hadn’t even processed the words.

BOOM—!!

Inside the sarcophagus, the Abyssal Demon’s eyes snapped open, and two balls of eerie green Soul Fire ignited within their depths.

The next instant, its massive, black-scaled claw shot out like a bolt of lightning, clamped around Black Thorn’s neck, and lifted him clean off the ground.

"Ghh— Hrrk—"

Black Thorn struggled desperately, his face instantly turning a deep, purplish-red. He clawed at the giant hand with all his might, but it was like an ant trying to shake a tree; he couldn’t budge it in the slightest.
