Chapter 386: Chapter 132: Kill Lynch! Slay the Scoundrel

"What did you say?!" The commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group shot to his feet, his hand resting on the War Axe at his waist. "Say that again if you’ve got the guts!"

"Enough!"

At that moment, the allied forces’ chief of staff, a gray-haired old officer who had been sitting silently to the side, finally lost his patience. He slammed his hand on the table and roared, "Sirs, the enemy is at our doorstep! How long are you going to keep up this infighting?!"

The atmosphere in the tent froze instantly.

The commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group and Blackthorn glared at each other, but in the end, both just snorted coldly and turned away.

Many allied forces had similar problems. When a war was going well, even if some friction and conflict arose, it would be papered over by one victory after another.

But once the situation became a stalemate and the war turned against them, the friction and contradictions within the allied forces would be magnified, leading to arguments and endless finger-pointing.

"If you ask me," the commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group said, sitting back down. He took a hard swig of liquor and ground out through clenched teeth, "this is all that son of a bitch Bloodhand Johnny’s fault!"

"Exactly!" Blackthorn sat down as well, his eyes filled with resentment. "We clearly agreed to attack together, all three of us, to strike Grey Stone Pass. And what happened? That old fox only sent the Angus Department to phone it in, while he teamed up with Blue Crow to launch some sneak attack on Red Ridge Mountain, trying to hog all the glory for himself!"

"Arrogant piece of trash!" The commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group slammed his cup to the ground, letting it shatter. "Red Ridge Mountain is easy to defend and hard to attack. Did he really think it would be such a cakewalk?"

"Tsk, tsk. Over two thousand elite soldiers... wiped out at Red Ridge Mountain. Lost their lives and everything!" Blackthorn sneered. "He really shot himself in the foot. If he hadn’t tried to be so clever and just attacked Grey Stone Pass with us, the three of us together would’ve cracked this turtle shell long ago and twisted that old dog Leonard’s head off to kick around like a ball!"

"And look where that got us. Bloodhand Johnny is dead, Blue Crow is finished, and that two-faced traitor Angus absorbed their remnants and actually grew stronger!" the commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group said bitterly. "And what about us? We’re stuck here wasting our troops, taking losses for nothing!"

Just as the two grew angrier and angrier, and the atmosphere in the tent grew thick with tension...

VROOOOOMMM!

A piercing engine roar suddenly came from the sky.

The sound grew closer, like the roar of a great beast, shaking the canvas roof of the tent.

"What’s going on?!"

"Enemy attack?!"

Everyone’s expression changed drastically. They rushed out of the tent and looked up at the sky.

There, in the murky gray sky, a massive airship was slowly descending from the clouds.

The airship was built entirely of brass and wood. Giant propellers were mounted on either side of its hull, and its tail spewed thick black smoke. The hull itself was covered in colorful graffiti and a particularly eye-catching symbol: a massive Gold Coin.

At the very bottom were the crooked, large words "Venture Capital Company."

And on the airship’s foredeck stood a short, green-skinned goblin. It wore a pair of oversized goggles and was excitedly waving its arms.

Next to him stood a Warlock in a scarlet robe, the corners of which whipped in the wind. A scorching aura radiated from his body.

"Friends of the Draenei Brotherhood down there, don’t be alarmed!"

The goblin held a brass megaphone, its voice booming across the entire camp through the amplification device: "We’re from the Venture Capital Company! Our airship’s power furnace is having some trouble. Requesting permission to land for resupply and maintenance! I repeat, requesting permission to land!"

"Venture Capital Company?" The commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group narrowed his eyes. "What are these greedy goblins doing here?"

Blackthorn frowned as well, but his gaze fell on the red-robed Warlock. His expression changed slightly, and he said in a low voice, "That Warlock... judging by the style of his robe, he looks like he’s from the Catastrophe Sect."

As soon as he said this, the surrounding officers began to stir.

The reason the Draenei Brotherhood was able to make such huge waves in the three southern provinces was not only due to the Empire’s own corruption, but also inextricably linked to the covert support of three major powers.

First was the Venture Capital Company, which provided funds and military equipment. Second was the Catastrophe Sect, which provided Warlocks and forbidden knowledge. And third was the Hand of Shadow, which provided intelligence and assassination support.

"My lord," said a Warlock, stepping out from behind Blackthorn. "Let me take a look with the Eagle Eye Skill."

He recited a few incantations, and his eyes began to glow with a faint green light. Then he looked up at the sky.

A moment later, he withdrew the Magic and nodded. "That’s right. The red-robed Warlock is a mid-level leader of the Sect, named Carlos. Rumor has it he recently took a mission to the Angelo Mountains with a group of goblins... His identity should be legitimate."

The commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group and Blackthorn exchanged a glance, and both saw the interest in the other’s eyes.

The Venture Capital Company might be greedy, but their supplies and military equipment were exactly what the allied forces desperately needed. Besides, if they could use them to forge more connections with the Catastrophe Sect...

"Permission to land!" the commander of the Iron Fang Battle Group shouted loudly. "Land in the clearing in the center of the camp! We will provide supplies!"

"Many thanks, my friend!" the goblin yelled, waving his hand excitedly.

The airship slowly descended, its massive shadow gradually falling over the camp.

THOOM—

The airship landed steadily in the clearing in the center of the camp, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Once the airship had settled, people began to jump down one after another.

The first to jump down were several goblin technicians. They carried all sorts of toolkits on their backs, chattering away about the problem with the power furnace.
