Chapter 368: Chapter 130: Just How Many Good Mothers Do You Have!?

"A very clever little mouse. He had some interesting ideas about his training. Had he continued on his path, he might have had a chance to become a new Legend... A pity his mind wasn’t as quick as yours."

As she said this, her gaze swept faintly over all the young women present—from Catherine to Avril, then from Eleanor to Sea Song, before finally returning to Lynch.

"Hee hee~"

Her laughter echoed in Lynch’s mind, carrying a trace of profound amusement.

"I still favor you more, you know~"

A cold sweat broke out on Lynch’s back again.

"Sometimes, shamelessness... is an advantage in its own right."

She spoke the words lightly, but Lynch could clearly sense the hint of a smile in her gaze.

’Is she praising me?’

’Or mocking me?’ 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Lynch decided to take it as a compliment.

Since Wang Ge’s mother herself said shamelessness was an advantage, he might as well take it all the way.

He looked up, plastering a pitiful expression on his face, and said in an extremely weak voice, "Ma’am, actually... my soul has suffered some trauma recently, and I’ve been worried about how to recover. You see, I was wondering if you could..."

Before he could finish, the lazy voice interrupted him: "Help?"

Lynch nodded eagerly.

"A trivial matter."

Lynch’s heart leaped with joy.

"But..."

The voice drew out the word "but," making Lynch’s heart clench in suspense again.

"What will you give me in exchange?"

the voice continued languidly.

Then, her gaze once again swept over the young women present, her tone growing cheerful. "These little girls... all of them are quite fine, aren’t they~"

Lynch’s expression changed subtly.

"Sacrifice any one of them to me... and that little soul wound of yours will be healed in an instant."

She paused, a hint of a smile in her voice. "What do you say?"

Lynch’s expression froze.

’Sacrifice one of them?’

’You’ve got to be kidding me!’

Catherine was his right-hand woman, Avril his most trusted partner, Sea Song the direct disciple of the Moon Priestess, Eleanor the granddaughter of Edmund, and Ophelia and Lilith were his classmates and comrades-in-arms.

’Just sacrifice one of them?’

’Never mind that he could never bring himself to use a person as a sacrifice—even if he were that ruthless, would he even dare?’

’Catherine had the Adela family backing her, Avril had the Holy Light Church and her own family, Sea Song had the Moon Priestess, and Eleanor had that old geezer Edmund and the North Wind Legion.’

’He couldn’t afford to provoke any of them!’

A muscle in Lynch’s cheek twitched. "You jest, Ma’am. These women are my partners, the pillars of my Lakefront Town. How could they possibly be used for a sacrifice?"

He paused, his eyes darting as an idea struck him. "How about this? Can I... get it on credit this one time?"

The voice went silent for a moment.

"On credit?"

Lynch hurriedly explained, "Yes, that’s right. I’ll take the healing on credit. In exchange, I’ll pay you back later with Yenogu’s Soul Fragments. How does that sound?"

The more he spoke, the smoother and more confident he became, his tone naturally taking on a self-assured air. "As you know, Ma’am, that Gnoll Lord’s mind is as small as the eye of a needle. Last time, he forced you to orchestrate an entire operation just to target me, so you could say we have an irreconcilable feud. But while he wants me dead, I have no intention of letting him off the hook either. The next time he dares to show his face, I guarantee I’ll strip him clean, and we can split it fifty-fifty."

Pale Elegy was silent for a moment.

Then, she suddenly erupted into joyous laughter, a sound filled with unconcealed appreciation and amusement.

"Kekeke~~"

"Amusing, so amusing~ You little mouse, you’re becoming more and more amusing."

"So... what about my proposal?" Lynch asked, his face full of expectation.

Pale Elegy’s laughter subsided, and she then said, her voice still laced with amusement.

"Deal."

The moment her voice fell.

Lynch didn’t know what Pale Elegy had done, but he felt his soul tremble as an unexpected presence swept over it.

This presence was icy-cold, yet it brought with it a comfortable sensation. Wherever it passed, his soul felt as if it were receiving a spa treatment, growing soothed and relaxed.

The trauma from splitting his soul began to heal at a visible rate, nourished by this presence.

He could even feel that as the trauma healed, the 10 points of Spiritual Power he had lost were being replenished bit by bit.

Eight points.

Nine points.

Ten points.

No, it was more than just ten points!

The presence swirled deep within his soul, seemingly tidying things up for him as a favor, and even left a little "bonus" behind.

In the end, his Spiritual Power cap settled at 73 points.

Two points higher than before he was injured.

Instantly, Lynch felt his mind clear and his body refreshed, as if he had just awoken from an incredibly deep sleep. The groggy, hollow feeling was swept away completely.

In its place was an unprecedented clarity and lucidity.

"Thank you, Ma’am!" he said, bowing hurriedly.

"There is no need to thank me."

The lazy voice drawled, carrying a faint hint of satiety.

"Remember your promise."

She paused, and that gaze from the Netherworld swept over everyone present one last time.

From Catherine to Avril, then from Sea Song to Eleanor, it even passed over Ophelia and Lilith before finally landing on Aus.

Aus went rigid, instinctively pressing a hand to the notebook at his waist.

The gaze lingered on him for an instant, and then...

"Heh~"

A soft chuckle echoed in Lynch’s mind.
