That's How We Necromancers Do Things
Chapter 347 - 127: The Terrifying Lord Lynch
Chapter 347: Chapter 127: The Terrifying Lord Lynch
’So... in theory, this meets the storage conditions for the Evil Magic Codex, and its power won’t be diminished!’
He decided to test it right away.
Lynch channeled Mana into the Evil Magic Codex, focusing his mind on one of the specially made Magic Book Pages inside.
He cautiously guided the Magic Model for the [True Weakness Curse], slowly infusing the condensed magical energy into the page.
The evil runes on the Magic Book Page lit up one by one, swiftly devouring the influx of energy like ravenous beasts.
A moment later, the light stabilized.
An imprint resembling a white ghost had appeared on the page.
It worked.
Lynch was delighted. Following the same procedure, he also stored a [True Pain Curse] and a [True Soul Lash].
Feeling the three spells stored within the Evil Magic Codex, ready to be unleashed at any moment, Lynch couldn’t help but smile.
’This is basically turning trash into treasure. It can integrate seamlessly into my regular spellcasting to create perfect combos.’
’Imagine the combat scenario: I could open by instantly casting [True Weakness Curse] from the Evil Magic Codex to slow the enemy, follow up with my own chanted [True Pain Curse] to stack damage, and if needed, instantly cast another [True Soul Lash] to interrupt or land a finishing blow... The speed and surprise of this combo would give any opponent a world of trouble.’
’Just running simulations in my head isn’t enough. I need to test it for real and get a feel for it.’
With that thought, Lynch wasted no more time.
After storing two more spells in the Evil Magic Codex for a total of five, he summoned the Corpse Demon and a small squad of elite zombies to act as his guards. Then he left the garrison, heading straight for the training grounds on the outskirts of Lakefront Town.
Lakefront Town’s training grounds were quite spacious, divided into multiple areas: a recruit drill zone, a veteran sparring zone, and an equipment training zone.
At the moment, although it wasn’t time for large-scale drills, there were still some squads conducting combat exercises. Others were sparring to hone their martial skills, and the grounds echoed with the unending sounds of shouting and clashing weapons.
The arrival of Lynch and his retinue quickly drew attention.
The Corpse Demon was particularly eye-catching. Its massive, nearly four-meter-tall frame, purple-bronze skin, and the pervasive Evil Qi it emanated made it stand out like a moving billboard.
Cam Leisuo, who was in the middle of instructing a few recruits on shield wall formations, had his attention immediately captured.
With a single glance, he recognized Lynch surrounded by the elite Undead and quickly jogged over to greet him.
Fritz’s former guard captain was now a senior instructor in the Ninth Battle Battalion.
Compared to the defiance and unease he’d shown upon first arriving in Lakefront Town, the Cam Leisuo of today was far more composed. His skin was tanned a healthy bronze from the sun, his gaze was sharp, and his speech and mannerisms were much more polished.
His respectful attitude toward Lynch wasn’t just for show; it stemmed from genuine reverence and loyalty.
This wasn’t just because the young "Governor" commanded a terrifying Undead Army and held absolute power in Lakefront Town, but also because he was fair with rewards and punishments—and incredibly generous.
Under this lord, as long as you were willing to work hard and earn merit, he would never be stingy with rewards, whether they were Gold Coins, equipment, or status.
"My Lord, what brings you to the training grounds in person?" Cam Leisuo asked with a respectful bow.
His gaze quickly swept over the Corpse Demon and the other Undead behind Lynch. Then, as if he’d thought of something, his eyes lit up slightly. He leaned in and asked tentatively in a lowered voice, "Is it that... Young Lady Esther needs... another... ’extra meal’?"
As he spoke, he couldn’t resist slapping his muscular chest. With a confident look, he declared, "I’ve been feeling exceptionally strong lately, bursting with fighting spirit! If the young lady has a need, I am ready to serve at any time!"
In Cam’s eyes, letting the little Vampire drink some of his blood in exchange for a windfall was no punishment at all. It was a ’sweet gig’ with an extremely high return on investment.
Lynch’s eye twitched. He waved a dismissive hand. "Get outta here. You’ve gotten a taste for it, haven’t you?"
Cam Leisuo gave an embarrassed smile. "My apologies, I was being presumptuous. So, My Lord, are you here today to... inspect the training?"
"No." Lynch glanced around. "I’m looking for someone to practice dueling with."
"Du... Dueling?"
Cam Leisuo and the other instructors who had gathered nearby were stunned.
Their gazes involuntarily drifted to the giant-like Corpse Demon behind Lynch, as well as the ferocious-looking Purple Zombies and Black Corpses.
Cam swallowed hard, his face twisting. "M-My Lord... you must be joking. How could any of us possibly be a match for you in a duel?"
When "dueling" a Necromancer, one naturally had to factor in their Undead Units. How could anyone win a fight like that?
Lynch naturally understood their concern and stated his terms plainly: "I won’t summon any Undead to fight. I’ll rely solely on my own Magic and equipment. Furthermore, I promise not to use any Magic above Tier Three. Any Tier Three Warrior among you can challenge me. If you win, the reward is one thousand Gold Coins!"
As his words fell, this corner of the training ground fell silent for a few seconds, then erupted into a BUZZ.
The eyes of Cam Leisuo and the other instructors—especially the three Warriors whose auras clearly marked them as Tier Three—lit up instantly!
One thousand Gold Coins!
For Warriors, who were generally not wealthy, this was a massive sum.
More importantly, Lord Lynch had promised: no summons, and no Magic above Tier Three.
