Chapter 334: Chapter 125: My Fierce and Beautiful Mentor (4)

Lynch understood the risks, of course. He’d never intended to handle this on his own.

He thought for a moment before asking tentatively, "So... Mentor, is this Undead Demoness of any use to you? If you need her..."

Annabella cut him off with a shake of her head. "There’s no need. She’s just a Tier Six Undead Demoness—I can take her or leave her. I have no shortage of assets at that level."

"Then..." Lynch hesitated.

’After all, the demoness’s original master was Saint Adelaxius. Should I just sell her? That would surely bring trouble to the buyer.’

Annabella considered for a moment, then an idea formed. "This creature is more trouble than she’s worth to you right now, but to someone else, she could be a godsend. For example... Raymond."

"Senior Brother Raymond?" Lynch asked, slightly taken aback.

"That’s right." A smile touched Annabella’s lips. "He’s holding down Red Ridge Castle and has to face the pressure from the border directly. For him, the more high-end assets, the better. A Tier Six Netherworld Demoness specializes in wide-area mental interference and a Screaming Control Field. She would be miraculously effective in legion warfare."

"Of course, you wouldn’t be giving her to him, nor would you be selling her. You could ’lease’ her to him for a period—say, two or three years—and take her back when the term is up. That way, you offload a hot potato you can’t handle, you gain a tangible benefit, and you deepen your alliance with Raymond. Plus, his increased strength helps you secure your home base in Lakefront Town."

Lynch’s eyes lit up.

’That really is a good idea.’

’Senior Brother Raymond has always looked out for me. Aside from being a little broke, he’s a good guy.’

’Leasing her out would both bring in some profit and count as a favor.’

"I have no objections, Mentor. I’ll leave the arrangements to you," Lynch readily agreed.

Seeing Lynch agree, Annabella wasted no time. She took out a portable Magic Mailbox and quickly wrote a short Magic Letter.

The letter was brief, stating that Lynch had captured a Tier Six Netherworld Demoness available for a short-term lease and asking if Raymond was interested and what he would offer.

The Magic Letter dissolved into a streak of light and vanished.

Before Lynch could even refill Annabella’s tea, the Magic Mailbox began to glow with a soft light.

The reply had arrived.

Annabella took out the letter and unfolded it. After a single glance, she couldn’t help but chuckle and turned the letter toward Lynch.

The paper held only two words, written with such force they nearly tore through the page, yet they radiated an overwhelming sense of urgency.

"Junior! Wait!!!"

Lynch was speechless.

He’d almost forgotten. ’Senior Brother Raymond might be a little weaker, but he’s old! In fact, he’s a good seven or eight years older than my mentor...’

Annabella laughed and put the letter away. "Looks like your Senior Brother Raymond really does need some top-tier assets to bolster his forces. It makes sense. During the last defense of Red Ridge Castle, even though you helped him win in the end, his own forces were likely decimated."

"Since he’s in such a rush, we’ll have to make him pay dearly. First, let me help you take care of the demoness."

"Yes, Mentor, please follow me."

Lynch readily complied and immediately led Annabella out of the hall, through the internal passage of the garrison post, to the dungeon which had been reinforced and expanded multiple times.

At the dungeon entrance, two ferocious-looking Purple Zombies with a small squad of Black Corpses stood guard. A team of fully-armed, sharp-eyed elite warriors from the Ninth Battle Battalion also patrolled in intersecting patterns. The security was tight.

Descending the stairs, the air gradually grew colder and damper.

Upon entering the dungeon and walking down the corridor, they were flanked by sturdy stone cells.

Right now, the place was "bustling with activity."

The outer few cells held several members of the Goblin Venture Capital Company wearing special shackles. They were all dejected, muttering complaints like, "We’re taking a loss," and, "This investment was too risky."

The cells further in held the captured Blue Scarf elites.

The purple-robed Warlock and the red-robed Elemental Mage had their Magic Power sealed, and they leaned listlessly against the wall.

The Tier Four Wanderer and the other Warriors had long lost their initial arrogance; only vigilance and unease remained in their eyes.

As Annabella walked past these cells, she released her aura.

The vast, deathly pressure of a Tier Eight Undead Archmage spread out wantonly.

In an instant, all sound within the cells vanished.

The goblins were so scared they nearly jumped out of their skins. Each one prostrated themselves on the ground in horror, trembling uncontrollably.

The Blue Scarf Warlock and Mage looked up in terror, their faces pale and their pupils constricted.

As fellow practitioners of the Magic System, they could feel the terrifying, mountain-like pressure on their Spiritual Power even more clearly.

The Wanderer and the Warriors were even more affected, their bodies stiff and the hairs on their arms standing on end. They instinctively felt the primal fear of being crushed by a superior life form.

Annabella didn’t even spare them a glance, as if she were merely walking past a patch of insignificant weeds.

But the pressure she left behind was seared into the prisoners’ minds like a brand.

"Well, well," Annabella even had the leisure to comment casually. "You’ve got quite the collection in your dungeon. It seems your trip to Angelo was quite fruitful." ℯℯ𝑙.

Lynch smiled but didn’t reply, instead leading his mentor directly toward the deepest cell in the dungeon.

In the center of the cell, the Undead Demoness was bound by thick, specialized chains in an extremely humiliating position, forced into a kneeling prostration.

Two more chains pierced through her shoulder blades, pinning her firmly in place.

But that wasn’t the most eye-catching thing.

The most eye-catching thing was what was in her mouth.
