Chapter 332: Chapter 125: My Fierce Beauty Mentor (Part 2)

To this, his mentor, of course, readily agreed.

On the way back, all the townspeople who saw the trio consciously made way, bowing respectfully to Lynch from a distance. The gazes of all who looked their way were filled with heartfelt respect and admiration for him.

The group soon arrived back at the garrison.

Sea Song, having already received word of their arrival, had hot tea ready. She had also prepared a few of Lakefront Town’s specialty snacks: dried fish snacks made from Mirror Lake Sunfish, and locally made honey-nut cakes.

After welcoming the trio inside and quietly serving them all tea, she softly excused herself to prepare clean, comfortable rooms for the two guests.

His mentor, Annabella, and his junior, Charlotte, had traveled a long way and were a bit hungry, so they sat down for some tea and snacks.

During this time, Lynch gave his mentor a brief report on his accomplishments.

He recounted everything from clearing out the Gnoll lairs and repelling the Blue Scarf Alliance Army to forging an alliance with the Giants and crushing one of the Blue Scarf’s elite units.

For over a year, he had been the backbone of Lakefront Town. Although he had help from Aus and the others, he was constantly under immense pressure. Even with his strong mentality, he still needed an outlet.

Now that he had started, it seemed he couldn’t stop.

Of course, he omitted any mention of Lester’s legacy and the Death Codex, vaguely stating only that he had received some "inspiration" from ancient Necromancers.

Meanwhile, his junior, Charlotte, listened quietly, blinking, her face a mask of astonishment and adoration, as if she were listening to a legendary epic.

After quite some time, the voluble Lynch finally finished his tale.

Annabella set down her teacup, her lake-blue eyes full of praise. "Well done, Lynch. You’re even more outstanding than I expected. To take a dilapidated border town and develop it to this degree in such a short time, making huge strides in military affairs, diplomacy, and even territorial development... you’ve brought honor to our Hurst Royal Academy’s Undead System. You’ve also set an excellent example for the underclassmen who will follow. You’ve worked hard."

Lynch shook his head and said respectfully, "This is merely my duty as a student. I also owe it all to the continuous support and protection from you, Mentor, and the academy."

Annabella waved a hand, cutting off his pleasantries. Her tone took on a sharp edge. "I came this time not only to see you, but also because I’ve heard some things. I hear you’ve had some rather unpleasant ’conflicts’ with certain nobles from the Imperial Capital, as well as the Holy Light Church’s inquisition?"

Lynch replied casually, "There has been some minor friction, mainly with the House of Hohenzollern... but I’ve already handled it properly."

"Good that you handled it." Annabella had clearly been briefed on the aftermath and crisply affirmed Lynch’s actions. "That old fellow Edmund, chief advisor of the North Wind Legion, already gave me a heads-up. His granddaughter is here with you?"

"Yes. Eleanor is currently training in Lakefront Town. She’s been a great help to me," Lynch answered truthfully.

Annabella nodded. "With that connection, as long as you don’t do something truly outrageous, the North Wind Legion’s high command will turn a blind eye. As for the inquisition and those Imperial Capital nobles..."

At this, she sat up a little straighter. The powerful aura of a High-Tier Necromancer began to emanate from her, and her words were forceful and resonant. "I also came this time to back you up. To let certain people in the military, and those arrogant bastards in the inquisition with their noses in the air, see that a student of Annabella’s is not someone they can just push around. You don’t just have the soldiers and citizens of Lakefront Town behind you; you also have me, your mentor, and... our academy’s Dean."

She paused, her gaze fixed on Lynch, her tone softening but remaining solemn. "There are some things that, as long as you are in the right, you should just do. Don’t be overly timid. Your mentor—me—and the Dean may not be able to step in for you every single time, but we can at least ensure you aren’t taken out by someone’s underhanded, off-the-books schemes. Understand?"

A warmth spread through Lynch’s heart. He stood and bowed. "I understand. Thank you, Mentor!"

"Don’t thank me." With the serious business concluded, Annabella reverted to her usual lazy demeanor, waving a dismissive hand as she leaned back in her chair. "You earned all of this on your own merits."

And it was the truth.

If Lynch had remained as unremarkable as his original self before he transmigrated, he would have forever remained just another ordinary student at the academy, no different from any other face in the crowd!

But Lynch had come so far, constantly achieving new successes and creating his own legend. He had fully demonstrated his potential and ability, so it was only natural that his mentor, Annabella, and the Dean would place more and more importance on him, willing to bet more on his future.

He had now become the benchmark for his entire class. All other students in his year were compared to him, including those from rival institutions and organizations that were always at odds with Hurst Academy, such as the Imperial Capital Academy.

The better he performed, the more prestige the academy gained externally. Correspondingly, the Undead Major could hold its head higher within the academy itself.

After she spoke, Annabella’s Spiritual Power swept over the elite Undead sentries posted throughout the garrison. It grazed past the Moonfire Ring on Lynch’s finger and the full set of Top Grade equipment he wore, then sensed the powerful aura of death faintly clinging to him. She couldn’t help but shake her head, her tone tinged with amusement.

"I came here thinking I’d see what resources or equipment you, my little troublemaker, were missing. I figured your mentor could at least help you out a bit. But looking at you now... tsk. This gear of yours, this powerful army at your command... you’re far more well-off than I was at your age. Well, saves me the trouble."
