Chapter 327: Chapter 123: [Death Codex]! Lynch Has a Legacy

Wherever she passed, pedestrians instinctively parted to make way, yet few paid her any special notice. It was as if she were just an inconspicuous wisp of evening breeze, too ordinary to warrant a second glance.

Her gaze casually swept over the signs on both sides of the street. With the slightest twitch of her ears, she could hear the surrounding chatter with perfect clarity.

To her surprise, the townspeople weren’t complaining about their lives or their lot in the world. Instead, the most common phrase on their lips was "the great Lord Lynch," and their tone was filled with reverence and adoration whenever they mentioned him.

After him, the name the townspeople mentioned most was "Lord Aus," usually in relation to trivial matters of municipal administration and resource allocation, but their tone was equally respectful.

Occasionally, she would also catch some good-natured teasing and praise for a "Miss Sea Song."

’Aus, hmm? The basic profile does match.’ The smile on the woman’s lips deepened, her tone playful. ’Well then, let’s see for myself if you really are the long-lost Seventh Prince...’

The moment the thought formed, her figure wavered in the crowd and vanished, like a drop of water melting into the twilight, arousing no one’s suspicion.

Soon, she arrived at the Lakefront Town garrison.

As far as she knew, Aus stayed here at night.

As the heart of the town’s military and political power, the place was heavily guarded. In addition to numerous visible and hidden sentries, patrols of human Soldiers and Undead squads crisscrossed the grounds.

However, for a Tier Four assassin who was a master of stealth and concealment, these defenses were far from impenetrable.

After observing from the outside for a short while, she mapped out the positions of all sentries, both seen and unseen. Then, like a phantom, she cleverly slipped past them and infiltrated the compound.

Relying on her keen senses, she preemptively avoided the patrol routes of the Undead, closing in on the main garrison building without a sound.

Glancing up at the height of the main building, she extended her slender yet powerful fingers, finding purchase in the cracks of the stonework. With a slight push, her body seemed to lose all weight as she scaled the outer wall, ascending swiftly and silently.

Soon, she reached a half-open window on the second floor.

She turned slightly, her gaze piercing through the window frame to the room inside.

The room was brightly lit and simply furnished.

A young man in a black Mage Robe sat at a desk, engrossed in a book of magic.

The window was ajar, allowing the evening breeze from Mirror Lake to drift gently into the room, stirring the dark hair on his forehead.

’So this is the "great Lord Lynch" the foolish commoners praise to the heavens?’ The female assassin observed him for a moment with a scrutinizing gaze, a contemptuous smile touching her lips. ’A mere Tier Two Necromancer? His Spiritual Power is formidable, I’ll give him that, but that’s all. It seems the rumors were greatly exaggerated.’

Her gaze swept over the rest of the room, and when she noticed a crystal coffin in the corner, she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

’Keeping a coffin in his room? This Necromancer’s tastes are certainly... peculiar.’

’Then again... the bounty on this Lynch isn’t small. Might as well complete the organization’s kill mission while I’m here...’

In a flash, she made her decision.

The next instant.

She placed a hand on the window frame and, with a graceful vault, slipped nimbly through the half-open window. Her feet touched the floor as silently as if she were stepping on cotton.

Inside, Lynch seemed completely unaware, still immersed in his Magic Scripture.

A cold sneer flashed in the female assassin’s eyes.

She moved like a phantom through the shadows, slowly circling around behind Lynch before cautiously closing in.

At some point, three silver needles, as fine as hairs, had appeared between the fingers of her right hand. Their tips gleamed with a faint blue sheen—clearly, they were poisoned.

At that moment, she was like a cat stalking its prey, her steps light and silent as she closed the distance to Lynch, inch by inch.

Suddenly.

The female assassin froze.

A terrible feeling washed over her.

’This is bad!!!’
