Chapter 295: Chapter 119: My New Mother! Lady Moon Priestess

And it was quite obvious that every single one of them was a fanatical enthusiast of Elven culture.

But even though the group looked a bit reckless, Lynch was actually quite satisfied.

This told him that the Kains University Scholar had indeed taken this matter to heart; the people he had found were all true research fanatics with real expertise.

The more interested they were in the Elven relics, the more likely they were to unearth valuable information—whether about the Teleportation Gate, the ruins themselves, or the mysterious "Moon Priestess."

He immediately gave Aus a meaningful look and said with a warm smile, "No need to rush, everyone, please have a seat. You’ve had a long and tiring journey, so please have some hot tea and snacks and rest for a bit. As for the relics... Aus has a few things here that you can take a look at first."

He turned to Sea Song, who was standing at attention nearby, and ordered, "Sea Song, what are you spacing out for? Brew some tea and serve our guests."

A silver light flashed, almost imperceptibly, in Sea Song’s eyes, but her movements were perfectly fluid as she turned to prepare the tea set and refreshments.

Over the past few days, the Moon Priestess possessing Sea Song’s body had engaged in several rounds of discussion and negotiation with Sea Song’s true self, deep within her consciousness. After reluctantly promising not to harm Lynch or the people of Lakefront Town, she had finally secured a measure of cooperation from the real Sea Song.

As a result, she was becoming more and more adept at playing the role of "Sea Song, the Maid." However, the feeling of indignation, befitting an ancient Legend, also grew in her heart with each passing day.

Soon, fragrant tea and several of Lakefront Town’s specialty pastries were served.

At the same time, Aus brought out a small wooden box and placed it on the table they were all gathered around.

The scholars’ attention was immediately captured. While they politely enjoyed the tea and pastries, their gazes burned with anticipation as they stared at the wooden box.

Aus reached out and opened the wooden box.

The inside of the box was lined with soft velvet, upon which seven or eight items were neatly arranged.

There were a few metal fragments with strange patterns, a piece of leather scrap with singed edges, a lusterless Gemstone (or glass) bead, a small shard of bone covered in dense script, and... a uniquely shaped, smooth, pure white, curved piece of jade.

There weren’t many items—just junk Lynch had picked up from the periphery of the ruins. Most of it was damaged and incomplete, not worth anything if sold, but every single piece possessed a strong Ancient Elf aesthetic.

Upon seeing these items, the scholars’ eyes instantly lit up.

"Oh! Look at this ornamentation! It’s a variation of the ’Wind Language Vine’ pattern, typical of the Third Elven Era. But the lines are more fluid, and it even incorporates some astrological elements..." Associate Professor Sofia Xingyu nearly pressed her face against the metal fragment, her fingertip tracing its patterns in the air as she mumbled to herself in excitement.

"This leather... it’s been treated with a special alchemical process, allowing it to last for thousands of years without decaying. Although the residual Magic Power fluctuations are extremely faint, its structure is incredibly fine." Gelan Iron Anvil carefully pinched the leather fragment, brought it to the tip of his nose to sniff, then used a pocket magnifying glass to carefully examine the fibers within, his expression one of intense concentration.

Professor Alfred White, meanwhile, picked up the bone fragment. His eyes, behind his reading glasses, narrowed to slits, and his fingers trembled as he stroked the secret script covering it. "This script... it’s the arcane writing used within the High Elf priestly system to record rituals! Heavens, this discovery is too important! Mr. Aus, Lord Lynch, were all of these found in the same ruins?"

Aus glanced at Lynch. Seeing the latter’s slight nod, he answered with a smile, "Yes, Professor White. They were all found on the periphery of the ruins connected to the depths of the mine."

"The periphery? To find something like this on the mere periphery!" Professor Alfred’s beard trembled with excitement. "Then the core region... No, we must, as soon as possible..."

"Professor, take a look at this first," a young assistant interrupted, pointing to the peculiar, curved piece of jade. "What is this?"

Everyone’s attention immediately shifted to it.

Gelan was the first to pick up the jade piece, carefully examining its material.

The jade piece was not large, only about the size of his palm. Its shape was rather peculiar; one side was a smooth, rounded curve, while the other had a slight indentation, as if for gripping.

The lines on the curved side of the piece were perfect, as if it had been polished with extreme care, making it exceptionally smooth.

Its material also seemed very special. The surface bore a pattern that looked like flowing moonlight, and it remained bright and lustrous despite the passage of ages.

"The texture is warm to the touch... It feels like a variant of Moonstone, but even smoother." Gelan analyzed after a moment of thought. "Perhaps it was made using Moonstone as the primary material, then processed with a special technique."

"This pattern..." Sofia studied the decorative design for a moment but was stumped. "I’ve never seen any records of something similar, but the style is undoubtedly that of items used by the highest echelons of Elf royalty or the Divine Hall."

A young female illustrator, having no better ideas, ventured a bold guess, "Could it be some kind of accessory? Part of an armlet, perhaps, or a circlet?"

"Unlikely. This curved surface has clearly undergone special processing. It seems more like... some kind of practical tool?" Professor Alfred picked up the jade piece with a frown, holding it up to the light for a closer look before rubbing the smooth side with his finger, lost in thought.

The scholars huddled together, discussing in low voices, each offering an analysis based on their own reserves of knowledge.

Lynch listened from the side, nodding to himself in approval.
