That's How We Necromancers Do Things

Chapter 293: Chapter 119: My New Mom! Lady Moon Priestess
After successfully converting them into zombies, he also expended resources to help each of them complete their initial Black Corpse transformation.
After a period of hard work, Lynch had obtained seven Tier Two Black Corpses and three Tier Three Black Corpses. All of them had considerable potential. And since they had already undergone their initial transformation, their actual combat strength wasn’t weak either. They were serviceable enough to be sent straight to the battlefield if necessary.
The three Tier Three Black Corpses, in particular, could easily be promoted to Tier Three Purple Zombies, or even Tier Four Purple Zombies in the future. Any one of them had more potential than the dead Blood Fang and was no weaker than the Corpse Demon.
Therefore, based on their distinct features, Lynch named them "Jackal Claw," "Bone Splitter," and "Shattered Throat." He placed them under the temporary command of the Purple Zombie, Corpse Demon, to be trained as a vanguard assault force.
Of course, Lynch also prepared "downtown apartments" for them near the core Array of the Sleeping Tomb, allowing them to undergo long-term immersion in Negative Energy to strengthen their Black Corpse transformation and gradually advance toward becoming Purple Zombies...
The main issue was that he had too many Gnoll corpses to process this time, and his supply of Negative Energy Crystals and other materials was stretched thin.
Everything proceeded quite smoothly, and the experience points for Lynch’s Zombie Resurrection Skill steadily increased in the process, slowly approaching the threshold for Level 5.
However, an accident occurred when Lynch prepared to convert Grom’s remains.
Even in death, the corpse still emanated a heart-pounding Abyssal Aura. A thick layer of keratin covered its body, and its broken, bat-like wings drooped down its back. Inside its wounds, one could faintly see slowly squirming flesh.
Lynch centered himself, took a potion to help him focus, and only then did he cast the [Corpse Resurrection Skill] on the powerful remains.
At first, everything seemed normal.
The Negative Energy seeped into the corpse without issue. The body trembled slightly, and it didn’t seem to reject the Negative Energy. On the contrary, it showed a tendency to greedily absorb it.
Delighted, Lynch increased his Mana output, attempting to guide the Negative Energy to construct a complete zombie core and awaken the powerful body’s motor functions.
But just as the Magic reached its most critical stage...
An unforeseen change erupted.
Within Grom’s remains, the dormant Abyssal Aura seemed to have been startled awake by the stimulation of the Negative Energy. It launched a sudden counterattack, shattering the Negative Energy Array and scattering crystals everywhere.
The resurrection had failed.
Lynch: "..."
His heart ached as he looked at the now-useless materials scattered across the floor. These were the best he had.
After the heartache passed, waves of helplessness washed over him.
’Alright then~’
’Now I’m sure of it. This corpse has to be Tier Seven, not Tier Five!’
As a mere Tier Two Necromancer, even with his strong Spiritual Power and high-level Corpse Resurrection Skill, directly resurrecting a Tier Seven corpse was still beyond his reach.
’So be it.’
Lynch casually summoned two Black Corpses and had them move Grom’s body into a corpse-nurturing coffin in the center of the Sleeping Tomb. He planned to let it slowly absorb the Negative Energy, gradually neutralizing the residual Abyssal Aura within the body.
He planned to wait until his [Corpse Resurrection Skill] broke through to Level 5, or until he found more suitable supplementary materials, before attempting the resurrection again.
By then, the corpse would be thoroughly saturated with Negative Energy, which would make the conversion process much easier.
After dealing with the most troublesome one, Grom, the only thing left was the corpse of the Tier Four Peak Gnoll Shaman, Blood Claw.
A Shaman’s body was relatively fragile and not suitable for conversion into a strength-type zombie.
Lynch, for his part, planned to convert it into a Skeleton Servant.
Before long, a Gnoll Skeleton Shaman rose to its feet, Soul Fire successfully igniting within its eye sockets.
Although its strength had temporarily regressed to around the Tier Three Middle Stage, with a little nurturing, it could regain its peak—and even break through to Tier Five—in the foreseeable future.
"From now on, you can still be ’Blood Claw.’" Lynch was too lazy to come up with a new name, so he let it keep its old one. He then tossed it over to his Bone Mage, letting it learn from him how to be a proper Skeleton Mage.
Having finally finished the initial processing of all the Gnoll corpses, Lynch looked upon his ever-growing Undead Army, his heart swelling with a sense of accomplishment.
This time alone, the gains from just Blood Claw, Jackal Claw, Bone Splitter, and the others, plus the nearly two hundred Gnoll Skeletons, were already immense.
Once that large batch of zombies in the Sleeping Tomb fully transformed into Black Corpses, he would gain a group of thick-skinned, immensely strong battlefield "tanks." The next time he encountered an enemy like the Jackal Wolfman Tribe, the fight would be far too easy.
The only problem was that his tier and Spiritual Power were still too low.
Even though his many Soul Fire units could shoulder most of the command pressure, the ever-expanding scale of his Undead Legion still made him feel like a small horse pulling a large cart—completely overwhelmed.
But things like cultivation through Meditation couldn’t be rushed. It was important to balance work and rest.
Having just finished the arduous task of Undead conversion over the past two days, Lynch managed to steal a rare, brief moment of leisure.
The weather was fine, and Mirror Lake shimmered in the sunlight.
On a sudden whim, he took the increasingly energetic Dragon Flame and Esther and strolled down to the dock by Mirror Lake. He set up his fishing rod, intending to enjoy a few moments of peaceful fishing.
Esther had no interest in fishing.
She much preferred to flap her wings, flying back and forth over the lake’s surface. She would dip her fingertips into the water, watching the ripples spread out in circles.
The sunlight pierced through her translucent, bat-like wings, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow onto the lake’s surface.
