That's How We Necromancers Do Things
Chapter 240 - 111: My Elegy Mom is a Bit Strong
Chapter 240: Chapter 111: My Elegy Mom is a Bit Strong
As she spoke, she gave Lynch an encouraging look, as if to say, ’I love this. Give me more.’
Lynch was at a loss for words.
’This patroness of mine, Elegy, really has the same wicked sense of humor as always.’ He figured she must have been cooped up in that silent, boring Demigod palace in the Netherworld for far too long, and now she enjoyed watching a little drama to amuse herself.
Avril’s face instantly flushed so red it looked like it might burst. Even covered in dirt and wearing dusty leather rogue armor, her acute embarrassment was impossible to hide.
Mijanar, however, grew anxious and angry. She struggled to speak. "You! How dare you spout such nonsense! Avril is..."
"Hm?" Pale Elegy merely shot her an indifferent glance.
The rest of Mijanar’s words immediately died in her throat.
"Alright, the show’s over and I’ve had my snack." Pale Elegy seemed to be in a good mood. Her gaze fell upon Lynch once more. "You little mouse, you actually did quite well this time. At the very least, you managed to lure that timid and greedy ’Xiaola’ out of his shell. It saved me a lot of trouble."
She tilted her head slightly, as if pondering. "Hmm... What should I give you as a reward?"
Her gaze swept past Mijanar and landed on the husk Ragnarash had left behind. Her eyes suddenly lit up, and she snapped her fingers.
"I’ve got it."
She extended a slender finger and lightly tapped the husk Ragnarash had left behind.
Instantly, the lingering Hellfire energy within the husk was forcefully extracted and compressed, converging like a hundred rivers into the sea. It finally transformed into a condensed stream of dark-red light that shot into the pendant in Lynch’s hand.
The crimson crystal inlaid in the pendant immediately flared with a brilliant light, as if scorching lava were churning within. It radiated a heart-stopping, destructive aura.
Seeing this, Pale Elegy lightly tapped it again with her lace-gloved fingertip. Pale-white sealing runes instantly spread across the crimson crystal’s surface, firmly locking the terrifying power inside.
"I’ve sealed a portion of Xiaola’s primordial Hellfire power in here," Pale Elegy said casually. "It can unleash a single blast of Hellfire equivalent to a Tier Seven attack. It’s useless after one use. Of course, if you find some pure Hellfire to refill it in the future, you might be able to reuse it a few times. Think of it as a little trinket for self-defense."
’A single-use Tier Seven Hellfire item!’
’And one that’s theoretically rechargeable!’
Lynch was overjoyed. He quickly bowed in gratitude. "Thank you for your generous gift, Lady Elegy."
’At a critical moment, this thing would be an ultimate trump card, capable of turning the tide of battle or even killing an enemy far above my own level.’
"Well then, until next time. I hope you, my little mouse who’s always full of surprises, won’t keep me waiting too long." As she spoke, Pale Elegy let out a small, lazy yawn. Her figure then began to fade like a reflection in water, soon vanishing into thin air.
The moment she disappeared, Lynch clearly felt the Demigod mark deep within his soul fall silent once more.
"Lady Guardian! Are you all right?" Avril rushed to Mijanar’s side and helped her up.
Mijanar was extremely weak now. Her projected body had turned translucent, looking as if it might dissipate at any moment.
However, she paid no mind to her own condition. Instead, her gaze landed darkly on Lynch. "And you still dare say you’re not one of the Death Believers?"
"No, this is more than the treatment an ordinary Death Believer would receive. You’re clearly... a Demigod’s chosen."
’If she’d run into one of the Death Believers, she wouldn’t have hesitated to strike them down. But a Demigod’s chosen is another matter entirely. Besides, it seems that Pale Elegy is quite fond of this boy.’
"Er... heheh." Lynch rubbed his nose and could only manage a dry laugh.
’In a situation like this, any explanation would be pointless. Mijanar was right. There really wasn’t any difference between me and one of Pale Elegy’s chosen anymore.’
In fact, an ordinary chosen wouldn’t receive this much attention. She was practically checking in on him every other day.
Seeing his expression, Mijanar snorted coldly and ignored him. She turned to Avril, her tone grave as she advised, "Avril, you saw it all. That Demigod from the Netherworld is no benevolent being. And Lynch Blackwood... the aura of impurity and blasphemy on him is so strong, and he’s constantly being watched by that entity... You must promise me that you will stay far away from him. Please, please do not let him tempt you into corruption..."
She nagged like a fretful mother hen, repeating her warnings over and over.
She had been severely injured this time, her Holy Light Power almost completely depleted. She didn’t even have enough strength left to form another Holy Light Ring for Avril.
Avril kept her head down, replying in a small voice, "Yes, milady, I understand..."
But out of the corner of her eye, she couldn’t help but glance at the somewhat awkward Lynch standing to the side.
Finally, after a few more words of caution, this weakened fragment of Mijanar’s soul could no longer maintain its form. It dissolved into a shower of sacred light motes and vanished into the air.
The descended soul fragment, of course, returned directly to her main body in the Celestial Divine Kingdom.
For her, this "business trip" had been a total loss.
Only after Mijanar had completely vanished did Lynch let out a long sigh of relief, his taut nerves finally relaxing.
’Demon Refining Lord, Holy Light Angel, Netherworld Demigod...’ In such a short time, three beings far beyond his own tier had taken the stage one after another, nearly turning the ruins of Red Ridge Castle into a Divine-Demon Battlefield.
’I can’t afford to provoke a single one of these titans.’
’Fortunately, there were immense restrictions preventing their true bodies from descending upon the prime material plane. Even sending a projection consumed a considerable amount of power. Otherwise, the world would have descended into chaos long ago.’
