Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids
Chapter 839 - 837: The Show Begins
Looking at the slipper getting bigger in her field of vision, by the time Candy reacted and wanted to run away, it was already too late, as she could only stand there helplessly watching her sister’s slipper about to hit her face.
At the last moment, a hand firmly grabbed the slipper in mid-air.
"Phew~ scared the baby to death."
Candy patted her little chest, showing a relieved expression.
Mo Jingchun, already standing nearby, scratched the back of his head awkwardly, showing an apologetic look, "Sorry, I forgot my cute little sister was behind me."
Upon hearing this, Candy rolled her eyes dramatically. Where there’s a brother and sister, there’s bound to be some drama, and drama always involves some fighting.
"Sigh~ luckily Zero is reliable."
Glancing at the somewhat quiet brother and sister, Candy pouted and said, "Both brother and sister are unreliable."
At this moment, Candy completely forgot that this whole skirmish was entirely instigated by her.
If it weren’t for spreading that big secret, the previous scene wouldn’t have happened.
"Zero, let’s just watch TV."
Looking at Candy who was making faces, Zero chuckled and accurately threw the slipper back.
Zhou Yaling picked up the slipper and put it on, casting a glance at her curious brother staring at her.
"What are you looking at?"
"Tch~~"
"I’m just curious which little puppy captured your fluttering heart."
"Tut tut~ Uncle will surely be thrilled when he finds out."
Looking at Zhou Yaling’s stubborn little stare, Mo Jingchun gave up on finding out who the puppy was. Jeez, little sis finally got herself a boyfriend, and if it ends because of him...tsk tsk...
Ding dong~
Ding dong~
Ding dong~
The message notification kept ringing, and Mo Jingchun and Candy openly laughed out loud.
Zhou Yaling, her face crimson red, turned and headed upstairs.
Watching his sister’s silhouette completely disappear, Candy then asked with a smile, "Brother, what do you think sister was originally going downstairs to do?"
Mo Jingchun shrugged and said, "Who knows? Maybe she was thirsty and wanted to get some water."
"Oh?! Then how about I pour sister a glass of hot water and bring it up?"
Snatching the remote from Candy’s hand, Mo Jingchun sneered and said, "You guess if you go upstairs now, would your sister hit you? Want to bet a month’s allowance?"
"Not interested!" Candy replied dismissively.
Already broke enough to jingle when she walks, the vile brother schemes to deduct her allowance.
After dinner, with the sun already set, and after Candy repeatedly urged him, Mo Jingchun finally changed into a pair of shoes ready to head out.
Seeing Candy pulling Little Grey, Mo Jingchun raised an eyebrow and asked, "You’re bringing Little Grey along?"
"Uh-huh."
"Hold the leash properly, don’t let Little Grey scare the pedestrians."
Upon hearing that, Candy glanced down at the silly-looking Little Grey, somewhat uncertainly asked, "Brother, does Little Grey look dumb enough to scare people?"
As Candy spoke, Little Grey cutely tilted its head, and together with its goofy smile, its stupidity was instantly apparent. Even Mo Jingchun was rendered speechless.
"Looks pretty silly."
Candy happily tugged Little Grey into the car. Inside, after fastening her seatbelt, Candy patted Little Grey’s head and playfully said, "Little Grey, whether we find sister is up to your performance, find sister and I’ll reward you with a big drumstick!"
In an instant, the dumb look in Little Grey’s eyes disappeared, filled instead with vigor.
Indeed, in the afternoon after Zhou Yaling went upstairs, she changed into a floral dress. Under the dumbfounded gazes of Candy and Mo Jingchun, she left the house alone with a small backpack.
Dinner was still cooked by Mo Jingchun.
Candy had it all planned; if they couldn’t find sister, and she stayed out all night, she’d go tell their uncle the good news. Heh heh, couldn’t resist learning from brother how to set up the little sister.
This is called "revenge is a dish best served cold"!
No, it should be called "the river east for thirty years, the river west for thirty years"!
Next to her, Zero puzzledly asked, "What river east and west? Candy, what are you muttering?"
Candy blinked and tilted her head, saying, "I didn’t say anything."
"I have a recording, do you want to listen!"
The next second, Candy directly covered Zero’s mouth.
"Shh~!"
"Can’t speak."
Ten minutes later, getting out of the car, Candy whispered to Little Grey, "Go, go, go! ヾ(◍°∇°◍)ノ゙"
Then Mo Jingchun came over.
"There’s a fruit shop up ahead. Let’s buy a watermelon and head home; it’s too hot out here."
"La la la~ I don’t want to."
"Brother, come chase me."
With that, Candy grabbed Little Grey and ran.
Standing there, Mo Jingchun rubbed his forehead in pain.
"I knew it. Letting them out is easy, getting them back is hard."
Seeing Candy and Zero running farther away, Mo Jingchun had no choice but to quicken his pace to catch up.
When Mo Jingchun caught up with the two little ones, Candy was standing at a roadside barbecue stand ordering skewers.
"Brother, want to have a couple of skewers? Zero’s treating."
Mo Jingchun looked at the smiling Zero in surprise, thinking it was rare to see stingy Zero willingly paying the bill.
Then what’s there to say, no need to be polite; being polite would make Zero feel excluded.
"Boss, five lamb skewers, five beef skewers, no spice, please."
"Okay!"
Holding a skewer in one hand and Little Grey’s leash in the other, the group wandered aimlessly down the street. Walking side by side, Mo Jingchun didn’t notice Little Grey, led by Candy, continuously sniffing the air with its dark nose.
"Brother."
"What’s up?"
"It would be nice if we could have skewers every day."
"Wishful thinking. No matter how good the food is, you can’t eat too much of it at once. Have you forgotten, you used to love drinking chicken soup, what about now?"
Thinking of chicken soup, Candy couldn’t help but shiver, shaking her head, and said, "No more."
"Brother, when do you think I’ll be grown up?"
Underneath the neon lights, Mo Jingchun’s smile looked especially warm.
"Why rush to grow up? Being a kid is a lot of fun, carefree and without worries. Besides, in brother’s heart, you’ll always be a never-grow-up little tagalong."
"Hmph~ I’m not a tagalong!"
"Go check out brother’s short videos, which feature 1080p HD moments of your childhood."
Suddenly, Candy stopped in her tracks. Just when Mo Jingchun thought Candy was sulking, he turned around only to find it wasn’t Candy who stopped but Little Grey stubbornly wanting to go another direction.
"Is Little Grey having a bathroom emergency?"
In Mo Jingchun’s puzzled gaze, Candy patted Little Grey’s head, smiling brightly and said, "Nope."
"Brother, hurry up and follow me, we’re going to see a show."
Next to them, Zero glanced oddly at the cinema not far away, then looked at Little Grey.
