Chapter 1144: The Power of the Laws
Chapter 1144: The Power of the Laws
“Where is Mylecent? What did she take that made your master come looking for her?” Vicente asked, those Devils trembling in his presence.
Mylecent’s plots weren’t exactly his concern. But if it was going to stop him from having her by his side, then it was important to know where she was involved.
One of the Devils said with difficulty, “We don’t have… Her exact location… We were looking for her when we… found the senior.”
“And what did she do to annoy your master?” Kong asked, seeing that they would be of little help in locating Mylecent more quickly.
Vicente had to repeat the question to get an answer from one of the enemies in agony.
“She has the… main… territory of the former Devil Abby Miller! Our master… wishes to get it,” said the strongest of those rocky-looking individuals, his eyes bulging as if they were going to explode at any moment.
Vicente was naturally aware of the infernal disputes over territories. Not every domain in Hell was equal. There were those with stronger elemental powers, so pure that they had never been dominated by others in the past, even considering the dimension’s long history.
Not only that, hellish legends spoke of law-holders, Devils who could control the elements as if they were gods of origin, on a much higher level than other magical beings.
To give you an idea of the difference it would make to control a law or not, if Vicente held the law of darkness, then all beings with powers based on darkness would be ’hostage’ to his interests. If he one day chose to ’remove’ darkness from the life of one of these beings, that individual would lose all their power over darkness.
That’s how fantastic it was to take control of the laws!
Supposedly, Abby Miller had inherited an extremely powerful domain of Hell, where there was not just one law, but two different laws!
For hundreds of thousands of years, this domain had only had a single ruler, who had disappeared for a long time. Then, suddenly, Abby Miller had appeared as Devil and, overnight, had become the ruler of that domain.
Even though Abby Miller was ’too weak’ at the time, she could still control a legion of the dead and cause terror to the Devils who had powers based on the two laws she took over.
Of course, she wasn’t strong enough to make the best use of her domain at the time, so she didn’t turn Hell upside down. Still, few who stood in her way survived and even fewer had chosen the path of defying her!
’They say that only Devils with powers of laws different from Senior Abby’s opposed her during her brief journey through Hell…’ Vicente thought silently, wondering how valuable the territory that now belonged to Mylecent was.
’In that case, I can’t dodge this problem. If Mylecent can completely take over the power of even just one law, she will still be as important as Senior Lothur!’
With the swing of his sleeves, Vicente exploded the bodies of his enemies, turning them into a dense, black mixture, difficult to distinguish what was what from each of them.
“Let’s move on to Mylecent,” Vicente said to Kong as he undid his throne and returned his energy to his soul body.
“Do you think they were telling the truth? The power of the laws really is terrifying,” Kong said with a tremor in his voice as he mentioned the word ’law.’
He had only just started this life of Devil, but his long life, its hundreds of thousands of years, had taught him about many things. Even before he met Vicente, Kong already knew about the secrets of Hell and Argardus, such as the laws.
The laws were basically the fundamental principles of magic in all of existence. They were what made all imaginable existences possible.
Argardus had the most laws, and not by chance, it was the absolute dimension with the most 10th stage beings in its ranks. But even though Hell had fewer laws, particularly those that were negative, the dimension had some of the strongest laws and, as such, its beings held strengths above the average of those in Argardus.
Among the strongest laws were the Law of Death, Law of Life and Law of Darkness, some of the most famous and terrifying!
Naturally, aware of all this, Kong was a little nervous about talking about it.
’Even peak Devils don’t have laws!’ He thought silently as he looked at Vicente.
And at that moment, even the one sent by Lothur to support this group couldn’t help but feel his interest reach new heights. He knew even more about the laws and how terrifying those who achieved mastery over them were.
’My master is currently one of only five beings in Hell who hold laws and, as far as I knew, only he held a supreme law. But apparently, this woman also holds a supreme law!’ The 6-Star Transcendent, hidden while following Vicente’s wishes, thought silently.
Of course, not every law was the same. Some were combinations of elements and weren’t as pure—that is, they weren’t as strong. Others, on the other hand, were extremely pure, giving their users practically uncontested powers. The latter were known as supreme laws, such as Lothur Ritter’s Law of Life and Mylecent’s Law of Death.
’My master already knew that?’
Despite his shock, Lothur’s subordinate didn’t get excited. ’My master wouldn’t make a mistake in sending these two to Mylecent. He probably already knows!’
After a moment of worry, the mid-level Transcendent sighed. The Law of Death was one of the strongest, even considering those of Argardus. But even if it was on the same level as the Law of Life, Mylecent would still need to have a cultivation close to Lothur’s to vie with him in power!
So this Transcendent of Lothur continued to follow Kong and Vicente without changing his tune, overcoming his shock and moving on with even more interest in meeting this woman.
Vicente and Kong had already felt close to Mylecent even before defeating the previous group, so now that they had gotten rid of those Devils and confirmed their suspicions, they found their way to the core of that territory, where they felt a very strong aura suddenly appearing.
