Taking the Mafia to the Magic World

Chapter 1143: The Whereabouts of Mylecent

Chapter 1143: The Whereabouts of Mylecent

Days had passed since Vicente’s pact with Lothur Ritter.

After leaving Devil Ritter’s territory, the group journeyed together for a short while. As soon as they reached the first contested zone of the Reincarnation Wheels, Vicente decided that staying together was no longer the best option.

Before returning to Anicane, they had to take full advantage of their position after the death of Qhava and their alliance with Lothur!

So, with one of their two 5-Star Transcendents, Vicente sent Rex to conquer new infernal territories and further his cultivation. He did likewise with Larissa, letting the other 5-Star Transcendent guide her toward a level of power truly significant.

In this manner, he arranged to reconvene with both in three months, when they would return together to Anicane to resume their endeavors with Theloria in the Red Enclave.

Vicente remained alongside Kong and the 6-Star Transcendent, yet he harbored an extra objective beyond merely strengthening himself. Since he needed to allow time for Larissa and Rex to grow stronger, he resolved to seek out the other Devil created by Abby Miller. Considering his conversation with the Ritter family, he now knew this individual had become a significant force in Hell—a potential ally he could not afford to ignore.

It was only natural that they would form an alliance. After all, they had been created by the same source, and Vicente had been instructed, if ever given the chance, to work with Mylecent.

Knowing that Minos was a great seer, Vicente did not wish to risk acting against that man’s recommendations. Thus, accompanied by his two remaining companions, he traveled the first few weeks after his group split up!.

“Hehe, Vicente Fuller. I never imagined I would run into you here,” said a Devil of a completely darkened appearance, slowly advancing toward Vicente and Kong across a vast black plain.

The traveling group had spotted the duo only moments before, and upon noticing the formidable aura of the two travelers, they decided to approach—recognizing who one of them was.

Whereas Kong was hardly known in Hell, Vicente was already a renowned figure; his aura and pure darkness had earned him favor even among the denizens of the infernal dimension.

Rumors of his exploits had spread throughout Hell, and even those who had never seen him could recognize him after merely a few seconds’ observation.

Vicente was still merely a Sorcerer, so the six Devils before him—half of them 2-Star and the other half 3-Star—could not help but fix their attention on the pair. Vicente halted in his tracks, for in this forsaken area he was investigating clues regarding the whereabouts of Mylecent. After nearly a month of searching, they had finally gathered something promising, and it seemed they would discover her in due time.

But confronted by this group of men with eyes fixed on them as if they were mere rabbits ensnared in a predator’s trap, they paused.

This was not the first time they had found themselves in such a predicament. On two previous occasions in recent weeks, they had faced other Devils who coveted their heads.

The subordinate of Lothur had remained hidden in each instance, as Vicente had requested. Although he longed to expedite his local plans, he was determined not to squander every opportunity for battle that he might encounter along the way.

Not by chance, he had broken through and reached 7-Star in the Sorcerer Stage within these days—a feat he had never expected to accomplish so swiftly.

“Vice, there isn’t a single Reincarnation Wheel available for conquest near here,” Kong remarked as he stepped back beside his companion. “Unless they are patrolling this vast territory, they are simply not here by chance.”

Vicente could not disagree with Kong. Hell was vast beyond measure; random encounters simply did not occur. Normally, one either chased after something or tended to one’s own business, or pursued a specific target.

’I’m certainly not the reason they’re here. Our tracks, ever since we left Senior Lothur’s domain, have been completely erased,’ Vicente pondered in silence. ’This means they can only be hunting another target—or they are merely patrollers.’

The latter hypothesis was highly unlikely. The reason was simple: since the sovereigns of Hell wield omniscient knowledge over their territories, there was no need to waste time patrolling.

Though an occasional patrol might occur, it was extremely unusual!

Taking a step closer to the group, Vicente demanded, “You… what you’re hunting?”

“Oh? He seems to underestimate us, brothers,” one of the six Devils sneered. “He thinks he can interrogate us.”

“How arrogant of this worm!” another retorted.

“Tsk! He has talent, but if he believes he can do as he pleases simply because of it, then his death would be most fitting!” one Devil jeered.

“In the end, we brothers will relish the glory of slaying Hell’s chosen one!”

Kong shook his head and whispered to Vicente, “They don’t appear inclined to cooperate.”

“They have no choice. Their desires are irrelevant.” Vicente murmured coldly as he raised one of his hands, channeling his power to form his throne.

The six Devils watched in awe as the world around them darkened further and, emerging behind Vicente, a black throne appeared.

Before they could even spring a coordinated attack—an assault that many in Hell were eager to launch against this opponent—a spine-chilling pressure descended from the sky, as black chains erupted from the ground, lashing at their heels and fists.

They attempted to employ their own Reincarnation Wheels to repel Vicente’s power, but all they felt was a paralyzing force that rendered their powers impotent against his might.

Vicente smiled, relishing the sensation of freezing the infernal powers of his foes. With each passing second, he savored more the advantages of being Hell’s “chosen one!”

“Now, let us try this again—what were you doing in our path? Whom did you have in mind while traveling through this region?” Vicente demanded, seating himself on his throne and forcing the six Devils to reveal their most potent infernal forms, even as they struggled against the overwhelming pressure he imposed.

The fact that infernal beings generally shared the same elemental affinities proved to be a significant liability when facing Devils of greater power, for they could exert elemental suppression!

One by one, the six found themselves succumbing, feeling their minds spiral into disarray, their thoughts adrift, and their wills bending beneath Vicente’s overwhelming force.

After a minute of agonized silence, the first Devil spoke, “That woman… She took what was not hers… Our master is coming to replace her.”

Kong and Vicente exchanged glances, their thoughts turning to one woman only.

“Her name is Mylecent, isn’t it?” Kong asked, seeking confirmation that this was indeed the Devil they pursued.

One of the others, writhing in agony under Vicente’s power, replied, “That is her name.”
