Chapter 794 Looking At A Hard Brick
Chapter 794 Looking At A Hard Brick
The tearful family reunion caught everyone’s attention.
When the others heard the gist of the story, they finally understood why the family of four was acting that way.
It was common for families in Pangea to lose their Wanderer kins who had gone to Solterra. Countless children had even become orphans because of it.
So, despite having no close relations with Sherry’s family, they could empathize and sympathize with them.
Alessia and Gerald decided to take the Weaver Family to a private room in the residence, where they could all catch up and talk in private.
But before Sherry and her family left, they made sure to thank Thirteen for giving them the surprise of their life.
When the family of four was finally behind closed doors, Jacqueline asked her son the reason why he wasn’t able to return at an earlier time during his First Wandering.
Allan knew that his sister and parents wanted to know his story, so he didn’t hesitate to tell them about his adventure.
Naturally, he cut off the parts where Zion helped him as per the teenage boy’s request.
After he was done telling them the summary of everything that happened, Jacqueline and Luke found it strange.
Still, they decided to not ask questions for now and allowed Allan to finish his story. “Brother, how did you suddenly appear here?” Sherry asked after her brother finished his tale.
“After reaching the human city, I was instantly teleported to the Teleportation Gate here in the Aldebaran Continent,” Allan replied. “It just so happens that Zion Leventis gave an order that if I ever were to appear in this continent, he should be contacted right away. “I met him two days ago, and he told me about this engagement party. He added that since you, mother, and father will be here, I should go as a surprise guest, so here I am.”
The young man then looked at his sister and smiled.
“I was eavesdropping earlier, and I just happened to hear that I am supposed to be Zion’s dowry for you?” Allan said in a teasing tone. “So, you like him?”
Sherry immediately blushed and lowered her head.
However, she still nodded in the end, making the young man smile.
‘If it’s him, then I have nothing to worry about,’ Allan thought. ‘If not for him, I might not have been able to see my family again.’
Allan could still remember the time when Zion first appeared in front of him.
Back then, he was in a very desperate situation, surrounded by monsters with nowhere to run.
But a portal suddenly appeared beside him, and from it stepped out a teenage boy younger than him.
Zion then asked if he was Allan Weaver.
After confirming that he was indeed the person he was looking for, the teenage boy summoned an army of monsters.
What followed next was a one-sided massacre that allowed Allan to live another day and continue his journey back home.
Since then, Zion would regularly appear out of nowhere to visit him, bringing him supplies like food, water, magazines, clothes, soap, and other necessities used in the modern world.
And whenever he appeared, it felt perfectly timed—it would always be at times when his path was blocked by monsters too strong for him to defeat.
Being saved by him repeatedly made Allan question Zion why he was doing this for him.
The teenage boy would just say vague things like, he knew someone who was waiting for her brother’s return, so since Allan was also trying to return to his family, he decided to help him.
As time went on, Allan became confident that the person that Zion was referring to was Sherry, since the two of them were of the same age.
He just didn’t understand how the younger boy was able to find him at any given time and appear through a portal as if he was just taking a stroll in Solterra.
“Mother, Father, what do you think of Zion?” Allan decided to ask his parents about their opinion.
Since it was very obvious that his sister liked the boy, only their parents’ blessings were left to make it official.
Actually, Allan wasn’t the only surprise Zion had prepared for the Weaver Family.
However, before he could present his second surprise, he first needed to confirm if Jacqueline and Luke had a positive impression of him.
This was where Allan came in.
Since no outsider can ask such sensitive questions, this mission was given to the person who knew his family the most.
“What is there not to like about him?” Jacqueline asked. “He is still young, but he’s already a very popular and influential person. I can tell that his family, even Arthur Leventis, cares about him.
“When he grows up, he will definitely reach greater heights. If he becomes your brother-in-law, I will feel at peace knowing that Sherry is in good hands.”
Sherry, who heard her mother praise Zion, smiled because she was happy that the teenage boy was being recognized by her family.
“How about you, Father?” Allan asked.
“He’s barely passable,” Luke replied. “Frankly, he seems standoffish to me. For some reason, when I look at him, I feel like I’m looking at a hard brick.”
A giggle spread inside the room, as Sherry failed to control her reaction from her father’s very apt description of the teenage boy, whom Sherry had been spending a lot of time with.
Calling Zion a brick wasn’t an understatement.
While he seemed to act perfectly like a normal person in public, he was truly like a brick in private.
It took her and Erica a long time to better understand him since he didn’t like to show his true emotions on his face.
More like, he was truly emotionless at times, like a robot.
Fortunately, there had been some improvement after he met Vincent.
Since then, they were finally able to teach him a few things, which in turn allowed him to teach them a few things they never knew before.
After hearing his parents’ answers, Allan then asked them another question, which made Jacqueline and Luke gaze at their son in disbelief.
The blush on Sherry’s face, on the other hand, became a shade redder after hearing her brother’s question, her heart skipping a beat.
