Chapter 793 Sherry’s Dowry

Chapter 793  Sherry’s Dowry

Vincent chuckled. ‘That little rascal. He always looks uninterested, but I guess that’s only what he is trying to show on the surface.’

After knowing that his “goodwill” to the teenage boy was working, he promised Erica that he would give Zion more pointers, making the young lady smile sweetly.

Meanwhile, Zion guided Sherry as they danced with each other.

The young lady had nearly zero experience when it came to dancing since she grew up spending her time on training combat skills instead of dance.

However, Zion could quickly analyze if the young lady was about to step on his foot, and every time, he made sure to move out of its way while leading Sherry on the dance floor.

“You’re very cute today, Sherry,” Thirteen said, making the young lady blush.

“It’s all thanks to Grandmother Callista’s care,” replied Sherry, who was already calling Lady Callista ‘Grandmother,’ though not without a tinge of red creeping on her face. “I just wish I had taken dance classes as well.”

“Don’t worry. Just move and step however you like,” Thirteen replied. “I will handle the rest.”

“Zion, can you teach me how to dance later?”

“Okay. I can teach you how to dance while we escort Shana and Diana to the Temple of Zaphia.”

“I’d love that. Thank you.”

“Mmm.”

The two danced for a minute longer. However, just before the dance ended, Sherry moved closer and kissed Zion’s cheek briefly before pulling back just as fast.

Alessia and Lady Callista placed their right hands over their chest. Sherry’s move didn’t escape their eyes, and they found it very endearing.

Sherry’s parents, who were also invited to the party, both looked at each other with smiles on their faces.

“My little girl has grown up,” Sherry’s mother, Jacqueline, said with a smile.

“Well, this Zion boy isn’t half bad,” Sherry’s father, Luke, commented. “His family background is passable.”

Jacqueline looked at her husband, who was not being honest with himself.

She could tell that deep inside, he had also approved of Zion, who had the closest relationship with their daughter aside from the two of them.

“If only her brother was here to see this,” Jacqueline muttered.

Luke’s gaze softened as he wrapped his wife in a hug.

“Don’t worry. He will soon be back home,” Luke said. “I’m sure of it.”

Jacqueline nodded, preferring to believe that their son was still alive and would reunite with them soon.

When the song finally ended, Thirteen led Sherry to her parents, making Alessia and Lady Callista look at each other with smiles on their faces.

“Sir Luke, Lady Jacqueline, while this is a bit early, I promise to take good care of your daughter,” Thirteen said because his mother, Alessia, told him that if he wished for Sherry to stay by his side, he needed to make it known to her parents.

“Please take good care of our daughter, Zion,” Jacqueline replied. “She is the treasure of our family.”

“You need to pay her dowry to show your sincerity,” Luke, who wanted to test how serious Zion was with her daughter, didn’t hesitate to demand a dowry from him.

Of course, with the wealth of the Leventis Family, paying for Sherry’s dowry would be a very simple thing.

However, Zion had other plans.

“Don’t worry, Sir Luke, I already prepared my dowry,” Thirteen replied. “In fact, I already brought it here with me.”

Sherry’s father looked at the young man in surprise because he didn’t expect that the boy would really take him seriously.

However, in order to keep his dignity, he merely nodded and crossed his arms over his chest.

“Let me see this dowry of yours,” Luke stated. “I want to see just how much you care for my daughter.”

“Father!” Sherry pouted, which made Luke avert his gaze guiltily. However, since he had already said it, he could no longer take it back, so he endured her daughter’s gaze filled with injustice and waited for Zion to give them the dowry that he promised.

The teenage boy then pushed a few buttons on his communicator in order to call someone.

Once the call connected, Thirteen only said one word, and that was…

“Come.”

After saying those words, the teenage boy made a gesture for the Weaver Family to look up at the stairs, telling them that his dowry was about to be delivered.

Sherry, who was now curious about Zion’s dowry, looked up at the stairs, not knowing if the teenage boy was going to prank them or not.

However, the young lady, her mother, and her father froze the moment they saw the person in a gray suit walking down the stairs.

He had shoulder-length blonde hair and green eyes that were looking back at them with a face filled with longing. Sherry covered her lips with her right hand as tears started to fall from her eyes.

Jacqueline, who was also unable to hold back her feelings, did the same and started to cry. Luke hugged his daughter and wife, supporting them with his strength. But despite being an adult man, he, too, was unable to stop the tears that had started to flow from his eyes, blurring his vision.

Seeing this scene, Thirteen slowly backed away, not wanting to intrude on the family reunion that had been delayed for two years.

“Sherry, Mom, Dad,” the young man said hoarsely, his voice cracking up with emotion. “I’m back.”

Sherry, who no longer cared about what people would think of her, ran to her brother and hugged him tightly.

She was so overwhelmed with emotions that she could hardly speak. The only thing she could do was hug the person whom she had looked up to all these years, afraid that he might disappear again.

Jacqueline also no longer held back and hugged her son, crying in his arms.

Luke, who also decided to forget about his dignity, wrapped his arms around his family whom he had tried his best to protect for many years.

As the family of four huddled together in tears, Erica approached Zion and hugged him from the back.

“Why did you keep this a secret to me?” Erica asked with a pout. “Because it’s a surprise,” Thirteen replied, resting his hand on Erica’s, who was hugging him in an affectionate manner.

“It’s a very wonderful surprise,” Erica said. “I’m sure Sherry’s father will have no complaints with your dowry.”

Thirteen didn’t say anything because there was no need to say anything.

Just like Erica, he cared for Sherry in his own way.

When he found out that her brother hadn’t returned to Pangea since two years ago, he decided to ask Laplace Demon for help to locate the young man.

However, the Demon rejected Thirteen’s request because he didn’t want to give him preferential treatment.

Since that was the case, Thirteen turned to Metatron, who found all of this quite amusing.

Finding a Wanderer didn’t pose a challenge to the God of the Apocalypse, so he didn’t hesitate to let the teenage boy see the person he was looking for.

Since then, the teenage boy had kept tabs on Sherry’s brother, Allan, even going as far as leaving a few clones of his Parade of a Hundred Demons to guard him on his journey back home.

Thirteen had seen how much his hosts suffered in the past after losing a family member, so he somewhat understood Sherry’s pain.

For this reason, he did his best to ensure that Allan would be able to return home, despite the fact that Laplace Demon came to him to complain about his intervention.

The two found a compromise in the end, which resulted in this happy reunion of the Weaver Family.

As the teenage boy watched Sherry and her family cry together in sadness and happiness, he silently prayed in his heart.

He hoped that the Gods—if they were kind enough to listen to his prayer, would give them their blessings and ensure that their family would never have to experience separating from each other ever again.
