Synthetic Wizard
Chapter 562 319: Three Types of Mechanical Life (2)
In less than three thousand years, he ascended to a True Spirit Wizard, but it's not just that; he advanced using dual laws, including a rule-based law. Such talent is beyond mere genius!
It's truly terrifying!
Coming to her senses, Maisy hurriedly asked: "Which direction?"
"Follow me."
Sunan decisively flew towards the direction where he sensed the law fluctuations.
Maisy and the other two hurriedly followed.
It didn't take long before they all sensed the law fluctuations too, their faces simultaneously showing expressions of surprise and delight.
"This feeling... that's right! It's a law node!"
"Haha, who would have thought we would get lucky so soon and have a harvest!"
"All thanks to Sunan."
In their excitement, the group immediately sped up, and soon reached the location where the law fluctuations were emanating.
Sunan quickly saw the true appearance of the law node.
Unexpectedly, it was a sapling less than a meter tall.
Calling it a sapling was somewhat inappropriate, as it only had the silhouette of one, its interior presenting a dazzling starry sky and a layout that seemed like a sapling-shaped starry sky embedded in the void, exuding a profound and mysterious aura.
Just a glance, and Sunan felt a soul-level stirring, gaining a slight insight into the Gravity Law and Thunder Law.
His heart moved, and he quickly summoned his panel, discovering that both the energy levels of the Gravity Law and Thunder Law had increased.
The former increased by 2.35 energy levels, while the latter had a surge of 4.18 energy levels.
"A True Spirit Wizard witnessing a law node up close for the first time will have a slight enhancement in law comprehension."
Apparently sensing Sunan's surprise, Maisy explained with a playful smile.
"Such benefits indeed."
Sunan couldn't help but marvel, even more delighted.
It seems the effect of the law node is more potent than expected, and perhaps soon he can elevate Gravity Law to 100 energy levels.
"True, this law node is quite substantial." Ortis beamed with joy, "It should last at least ten to twenty years, and it can accommodate all four of us to train with ease."
The number of people a law node can simultaneously accommodate for training is limited, depending on its size.
The larger it is, the more people can train at the same time.
If the number of people simultaneously training exceeds the capacity of the law node, it greatly shortens its lifespan.
True Spirit Wizards, when finding a temporary law node, usually take turns training.
Generally, most temporary law nodes can accommodate between 2 to 3 people simultaneously.
The law node before them could likely accommodate five to six people training at once.
"We shouldn't delay, let's quickly set up a defensive array, and then start training."
Morick spoke with a hint of urgency.
The four quickly got to work, beginning to set up arrays around, focused on concealing life aura and law fluctuations, as well as defense.
Of course, even True Spirit Wizards cannot completely cover law fluctuations, only reduce it, shortening the distance others can sense the fluctuations from.
With four True Spirit Wizards, the array setup was quickly completed.
During this, Sunan's proficiency and skill surprised Maisy and the other two.
Setting up laws technically falls within the domain of magic artifact creation, and whether Maisy, Morick, or Ortis, they have spent at least thousands of years in this domain to attain their current skill level.
Yet Sunan's level of proficiency is no less than theirs, even surpassing the comparatively younger Maisy.
It's hard to imagine someone advancing rapidly in strength while also mastering magic artifact creation to such an extent; it's truly unimaginable.
Seeing the change in the gazes of the three, Sunan didn't offer much explanation.
Among his four skills, magic artifact creation is what he has practiced the most over the years.
Law gemstones, law cores, and various facilities in the Floating City... all have provided substantial experience.
So much so that magic artifact creation became his highest-level skill, almost reaching Tier Nine, far ahead of his other skills.
Among True Spirit Wizards, few can reach this level.
Soon, the area within a kilometer radius, centered on the law node, was filled with densely packed large arrays, suppressing the law fluctuations to its minimum.
The life and soul aura of Sunan and the others were completely concealed.
They didn't bother setting up illusion techniques for visual concealment; for True Spirit Wizards, it has no effect.
When they can visually observe the position of the law node, a True Spirit Wizard's perception is already able to detect anomalies here in advance.
Besides the arrays, the four each took out over a dozen Supreme Golems to guard the surroundings.
Maisy even brought forth an Arcane Guard.
The Arcane Guard looks quite similar to the Vajra Golem, but it is more slender, closer to human form, with a silver body made of rare metals adorned with densely packed rune patterns, emphasizing precision.
Sunan couldn't help but examine the Arcane Guard more closely.
His own Floating City is destined to use mechanical life as the final combat sequence, though he's still undecided on the choice.
Among many mechanical lifeforms, the Arcane Guard is inclined towards close combat, although it can conduct some long-range attacks, such as magic energy cannon fire and ranged magic, during battles more commonly employing various magic enhancements and engaging in close combat offensives.
The Secret Silver Sage leans towards long-range, equipped with nearly all common magic from zero to Tier Nine, along with some rarer magics depending on the creator, capable of executing various magical attacks, with enough energy, it is a limitless magical artillery platform.
These two mechanical lifeforms complement each other, achieving more than twice the effect together and are common choices for many Floating Cities.
As for the Magic Energy Mecha, it comes in both close-range and long-range types, as well as a balanced general type, fully dependent on the creator's design decisions.
Despite having "mecha" in its name, the Magic Energy Mecha actually doesn't have a driver but is operated entirely by the Tower Spirit housed within.
Yes, the Tower Spirit!
The core of other puppets is the Soul Core, differing mainly in grade, but the core of the Magic Energy Mecha is the Tower Spirit.
To speak frankly, the Magic Energy Mecha can be seen as a miniaturized Wizard Tower.
Its combat power exceeds that of the Arcane Guard and Secret Silver Sage, but its cost is also much higher—mostly due to the Tower Spirit—thus its cost-performance is relatively lower, making it less favored by True Spirit Wizards.
For Sunan, however, this isn't a problem.
With the Blood River Evil Soul channel for cheap soul crystal manufacturing, his cost to synthesize Tower Spirits is far below market price, making Magic Energy Mechas cheaper for him to produce compared to other True Spirit Wizards.
Thus the low cost-performance drawback does not exist for him.
So among the three mechanical lifeforms, each has pros and cons viewed from his perspective.
Noting Sunan's interest in the Arcane Guard, Maisy said smilingly: "I heard you're also constructing your own Floating City? If you're interested in the Arcane Guard, I can reproduce a copy of my manufacturing insights for you later."
Sunan replied with a smile, "Then I won't be modest."
Morick and Ortis, hearing this, were somewhat surprised.
Sunan is already starting to build a Floating City this fast?
It's known they took over two thousand years after becoming True Spirit Wizards to have sufficient accumulation to construct their own Floating City.
Both couldn't help but silently marvel.
Sunan's surprises are one after another.
With the Arcane Guard and over forty Supreme Golems guarding, even if a Divine Spirit launched a sudden attack, they could hold off for a moment, enough time for the four to react.
Preparation complete, the four then sat down reassuredly, at the center of the law node, respectively occupying the east, south, west, and north positions to start law comprehension.
At the instant of contacting the Law Origin, Sunan understood why many True Spirit Wizards are drawn to law nodes.
The active power of law filled every inch of space around them, similar to the energy particles on the Starlight Continent, dancing around him, with just a thought, Sunan could easily resonate with the power of law, engaging in a deeper 'exchange' with it.
Even in a Submerged Spirit Plane environment, it was nowhere near this effortless to comprehend the Gravity Law.
"This effect is nearly comparable to a divine status!"
Sunan secretly marveled.
If he could continuously train in such an environment, within three hundred years, he would be confident in breaking through to the mastery of Gravity Law!
"No wonder it's a True Spirit Wizard's holy ground."
Sunan cleared away distractions, completely immersing his focus in training.
