Chapter 386: Chapter 238: Sparring 2

Although it was a friendly spar, Su Xing showed not the slightest hint of fear.

Instead of dodging or evading, he simply drew back his right fist and smashed it straight into his opponent’s.

BOOM!!!

A clear, visible shockwave erupted from the point of impact, blasting outward in all directions. Viewed from above, it looked as if a massive circle, dozens of meters across, had suddenly rippled out.

Wherever the shockwave passed, all rocks and weeds were utterly obliterated. If either of them had the time to look down, they would surely have noticed that the entire mountaintop had been sheared down.

"What fine Swordsmanship!"

"Su Xiaozhi, draw your sword!"

After taking that punch, Qin Mo suddenly burst out laughing. With his level of skill, he could naturally sense that while Su Xing had thrown a punch, he had employed a genuine Sword Technique.

Since this was a spar, it would only be satisfying if his opponent used his full strength. Thus, Qin Mo took a large step back, giving Su Xing enough time and space to draw his sword.

To be honest, Su Xing had never been in such a peaceful fight. Ever since he had stepped onto the Extraordinary Path, nearly every battle had been a fight to the death. An exchange like this was exceedingly rare.

Seeing his opponent’s gesture, Su Xing couldn’t help but chuckle. Then, he suddenly clenched his right hand, and the Black Sword gradually materialized within his grasp.

The Black Sword now bore a series of black patterns on its surface. The blade itself was already black, making these patterns even harder to discern, but a closer look would evoke a sense of inexplicable terror, as if the sword possessed some great and terrible power.

"A truly fine sword!" As someone who specialized in forging, Qin Mo’s eyes instantly lit up. Although the Black Sword was formed from pure energy, it possessed all the necessary details. For a moment, Qin Mo was completely captivated.

Seeing his opponent’s entranced expression, Su Xing didn’t interrupt him. He even pushed the Black Sword out a little further to give Qin Mo a clearer view. Ten minutes later, Qin Mo finally snapped out of it, looking slightly embarrassed, and quickly laughed.

"Hahahaha, my apologies, Little Brother Su. Whenever I see a sword, I just have to study it. I got a little carried away."

’With Su Xing’s strength, combined with such a powerful weapon, I should be able to really stretch my legs in this spar.’ The idea that Su Xing might be too strong never even crossed his mind. In fact, he wished his opponent could be even stronger.

"It’s nothing. Shall we continue?"

Su Xing said with a smile.

He also enjoyed the feeling of crossing hands with others. ’A life-and-death duel is like cola—intense and stimulating. A friendly spar like this is like tea—subtle, yet you find yourself savoring it.’ For this reason, Su Xing was beginning to hold this Qin Mo in high regard.

’Such character, combined with such talent... he’s more worthy of befriending than most people,’ Su Xing thought.

"Let’s continue!"

A smile touched Qin Mo’s lips as his entire body shot forward like a rocket, charging ahead with an astonishing white shockwave trailing behind him!

In the instant he charged, Qin Mo had already channeled all the Qi and Blood he had absorbed from his smithing into his palms, turning them crimson as if engorged with blood.

Suddenly, with a massive sonic boom, his opponent’s palms came smashing down toward Su Xing.

But Su Xing was not intimidated in the least. He instantly swung the Black Sword at his opponent while simultaneously sending the Sparrow Sword shooting toward the man’s back. ’If we’re going to spar, I have to use my full strength. It’s a matter of respect, not just for him, but for myself.’ Thus, Su Xing held nothing back in this attack.

BOOM!!!

Amidst the violent torrent of air, Qin Mo slapped the Black Sword aside with one palm. Su Xing felt his right hand go weak, almost losing his grip on the sword. The surrounding air currents were instantly blasted apart, releasing a deafening roar like a crack of thunder.

"A good move!!!"

Qin Mo seemed to be getting fired up. He let out a thunderous shout that felt like it stopped Su Xing’s heart for a second. Then, Su Xing saw Qin Mo spin in mid-air, snatch the Sparrow Sword that had been shooting at his back, and hurl it back at Su Xing.

"Disperse."

A voice suddenly echoed in the depths of Su Xing’s mind. Just as the Sparrow Sword was about to pierce the spot between his eyebrows, it abruptly dissipated. His gaze grew incredibly focused, for he now knew just how powerful his opponent truly was.

’And by the looks of it, he isn’t even flushed or out of breath. He’s still holding back. I have trump cards of my own, but they aren’t things I can just use casually.’

"This sword of yours is quite interesting."

Qin Mo had been about to intervene and save Su Xing, but when he saw the Sparrow Sword suddenly vanish before his eyes, a smile spread across his face.

A sword that could be controlled so freely by one’s will—Qin Mo had seen such things before, but they were exceptionally rare.

’Judging by our relative strengths, I should be around Rank 7. But if I’m Rank 7, how have I lived for so long? Could it be that my innate talent for forging not only absorbs power but also extends my lifespan?’

Qin Mo thought, his brow furrowed.

He never considered that the reality was that Su Xing, a Rank 6, was freakishly strong. Even a powerful Rank 8 like himself could only exchange a few blows before gaining the upper hand. If any other Rank 6 had witnessed this, their eyes would have popped out of their sockets.

"Care for another round?"

Qin Mo asked, looking at Su Xing’s right hand.

"Let’s go!"

Su Xing replied with a grin.

"Good!"

"Tell me if you can’t take it!"

Seeing Su Xing’s forthright attitude, Qin Mo’s appraisal of him rose even higher. In the past, he had offered to spar with the juniors of Dragon Gate.

But most of those juniors couldn’t even take a single punch from him. ’To think that Dragon Gate has fallen so far, that they don’t even have a single Rank 6 like Su Xing.’

At this thought, Qin Mo’s favorable impression of Su Xing grew stronger still, and the smile on his face brightened. His actions, however, were not nearly as friendly as his smile.

Qin Mo’s fists were completely merciless, as if he were facing his most hated enemy. He rained down a continuous barrage of punches, one after another, smashing toward Su Xing.

At first, Su Xing struggled to parry, but as he gradually adapted to Qin Mo’s attack rhythm, he was able to use the advantage of his weapon to barely hold his own in a battle of offense and defense.

Qin Mo was on the offensive, and Su Xing was on the defensive.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Their attacks grew faster and faster, eventually becoming a blur of motion. All that could be seen were two hazy afterimages colliding, accompanied by a continuous series of explosions.

The explosive sounds were like countless barrels of dynamite being detonated in succession. The massive booms merged into one, and violent shockwaves blasted out in all directions.

The area within a fifty-meter radius of the two was completely enveloped in this terrifying, explosive roar. Deadly torrents of energy, enough to tear apart anyone below Rank 8, ripped through the space, turning it into a true forbidden zone of death.

The mountain peak beneath their feet crumbled, and countless shockwaves whipped up immense clouds of dust, which shot into the distance like a dirt tornado.

Qin Mo’s attack speed was simply unimaginable. In a single instant, he had struck over a hundred times. If he hadn’t been focusing all his attacks on the same spot, Su Xing truly would have been unable to react.

However, judging from the state of the battle, their auras were evenly matched; neither seemed weaker than the other.

BANG!

Su Xing was sent flying by a punch. The Sparrow Sword materialized behind him, desperately holding back the force of Qin Mo’s blow and preventing Su Xing from being knocked clean off the mountain. But the Black Sword in Su Xing’s hand had already shattered into two pieces.

"That was exhilarating!"

Qin Mo said with a laugh.

He walked up and slung an arm around Su Xing’s shoulder.

"You’re not hurt, are you?"

"I’m fine."

Su Xing opened his right hand, and the two halves of the shattered Black Sword dissolved into motes of black light, vanishing as if they had never been there.

"You won."

Su Xing said with great earnestness.

A flash of admiration passed through his eyes. As a Martial Artist, Su Xing knew just how powerful one had to be to possess such strength.

"Hahaha, what’s there to win or lose? Little Brother Su, when I was your age, I had only just stepped onto the Extraordinary Path. I’ve just had a few hundred years on you, that’s all."

he said with a wistful laugh.
