Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 206: Daily Life at the Transfer Station (1)
[Yun Yun! What are you eating? It smells delicious! I want some!]
Ghost Vine darted down from the Star Tea Tree and scurried to Lin Yun’s side.
At that moment, Lin Yun was holding an energy stone in her hand. Ghost Vine fixed his gaze on it, practically drooling. The ivy and the pothos plants kept their eyes glued to it as well.
[Hmm... it smells wonderful. It’s making me crave plants.]
Even the sleepy roses were woken by the fragrance, exclaiming that the scent was intoxicating.
Lin Yun looked down at the energy stone again. Was this thing really that powerful? Just look at how envious they all were.
She stood up, kept one stone in her hand, and set the rest on the shelf beside the ivy. "Take what you want, and let me know when you run out."
Several of the mutated plants happily absorbed the energy from the stones at once, as if they had been waiting for this very moment.
She was about to open a bag of pet food to see whether it smelled as good as the energy stones when two notification sounds chimed from her personal panel.
Song Zhenzhen had arrived, but Lin Yun had never given her the exact address, so she could only message to ask.
Lin Yun casually tore open another bag of pet food, poured it into a bowl, called out to the little ones at home, and then headed out.
"Sister Song."
As soon as she went downstairs, she saw Song Zhenzhen and George waiting.
"Brother Xiong isn’t here?" She looked around but couldn’t see Xiong Qi anywhere.
George, standing nearby, explained, "That guy said he wanted to buy a few things. He told us to wander around for a bit and said he’d come find us later."
Song Zhenzhen held out the basket in her hand. "These are the steamed buns I made at noon. They smell delicious."
Lin Yun didn’t refuse. She tucked the basket into her backpack, planning to give a return gift when she got back.
"By the way, where’s Song Xizheng? I haven’t seen him anywhere."
The three of them had taken only two steps when Song Zhenzhen suddenly remembered that someone was missing.
"He’s probably asleep. I messaged him, but nobody replied," Lin Yun added casually.
The other two nodded, and George asked, "You said on the channel that you wanted fertilizer?"
Lin Yun nodded. "Yes, I did, but that’s been resolved now."
"That’s good. I was going to ask around for you if you still hadn’t found any."
Song Zhenzhen scratched her head. "What fertilizer?"
She hadn’t looked at the chat area much on the road, so she had no idea what had been going on in the channel.
"It’s nothing. I just planted some vegetables and needed fertilizer," Lin Yun explained with a smile.
Song Zhenzhen simply said "oh" and asked nothing further.
Led by Song Zhenzhen and George, the three of them arrived at a coffee shop.
"Was this... opened by a survivor?" After sitting down, Lin Yun asked out of curiosity.
Song Zhenzhen nodded and picked up the menu on the table. "Yes. A survivor who earned a long-term stay opened it. He had a mutated coffee tree, and once he could stay long-term, he found a way to open this shop."
As soon as she finished speaking, a girl walked over. She was a waitress here and also a survivor. After taking their orders, she left.
If one mutant coffee tree could support a whole coffee shop, then all of her mutants...
[Stop! Stop!]
[Wake up! You can’t stay here for long!]
Lin Yun: "..."
Pulling her thoughts back, she saw the girl from before bringing over her coffee.
"Hey, I finally made it!" Xiong Qi strode in, grinning, and plopped down next to George. "Look, I bought you snacks. Isn’t that great? Aren’t I awesome?"
The words had barely left his mouth before Song Zhenzhen and George snatched up the snacks he had just set down. They vanished in an instant. Even Lin Yun received a portion, thanks to Song Zhenzhen’s quick eyes and hands.
Xiong Qi: "?"
Xiong Qi: "I knew you two would be like this. Luckily, I put a few extra portions in my backpack."
Lin Yun was stunned all over again.
Xiong Qi happily took a portion out of his backpack and began to enjoy it.
"It’s fine, it’s fine. We’re always like this," Song Zhenzhen said with a wave of her hand, explaining to Lin Yun once more.
When the group was packing up to head back, Song Xizheng sent Lin Yun another message.
Song Xizheng: "???"
Song Xizheng: "Ahhh, the sky is falling! I turned off the notification sounds and even fell asleep! Did you guys go out to play? The sky is falling!"
Lin Yun’s lips twitched as she read the message again.
"It’s okay. Xiong Qi saved you some good food, and there’s coffee too. He’ll send it to you in a bit."
Song Xizheng: "Thank you for remembering me, the one who was fast asleep."
After saying their goodbyes, they each returned to their own shelters to rest.
For the next two days, Lin Yun didn’t go out. She stayed in the shelter, occasionally teasing Sang Biao and Tuan Tuan, and enjoyed a very comfortable life.
The others didn’t go out either. Perhaps they were still exhausted from the amusement park trip?
Song Zhenzhen added Lin Yun and Song Xizheng to their small group chat, and the group would chat from time to time.
In the middle of one such chat, a friend request popped up at the top of the screen.
Lin Yun glanced at the name: Qin Mingyue.
Who? She didn’t know her.
She glanced at it and ignored it. She had spoken only once in the channel. If the other party had added her because of the fertilizer, it was a bit too late.
Qin Mingyue, meanwhile, was growing anxious that the request hadn’t been accepted.
She had only discovered today that this person named Lin Yun had mentioned in the channel that she wanted to buy fertilizer, and had even offered mutated tomatoes in trade. This person probably had a mutated plant in hand.
So why wouldn’t she accept the friend request?
After thinking it over, Qin Mingyue decided to send another request. This time she was smarter and added a note.
I have fertilizer.
When the friend request popped up again, Lin Yun frowned. So it really was about fertilizer, but two days had already passed.
She thought about it, then accepted anyway and sent a message: "Sorry, I don’t need it anymore. Thank you."
Qin Mingyue: "I know you have mutated plants. How much would you want to sell them for? Name your price."
Lin Yun was puzzled. What on earth? This person already knew she had a mutant?
But that tone... For some reason, Lin Yun disliked it.
Thinking back to the message she had sent earlier, she frowned and replied, "I have no mutants. The tomatoes came from someone else."
Qin Mingyue: "Impossible! You definitely have one! I’m begging you, please sell me the mutated one? I really need it."
By the time Qin Mingyue realized what she had done, the message had already been sent.
She froze, wanting to take it back, but it was too late.
She had been too hasty. In a few days she would enter a new survival world. If she could pass through it successfully, she would be able to stay at the transfer station for a long time.
