Chapter 1148: The Red Skin Assassination

The dark elf who was the second in command of the group was having a far worse time than any of the other members! The elf knew that Malovena would not kill him, but he would definitely be punished for failing his mission so spectacularly! They had to find the man, or he was facing doom!

"Hey, isn’t that Valeria?"

One of the other members suddenly came up to the elf from the side and pointed to a woman walking towards the table where the hooded man had been seated, and the dark elf felt his eyes widen in both shock and relief! Yes, this was perfect! Even though they couldn’t bring the hooded man to Malovena, if they were able to bring Valerai to her, that would be enough!

The elf was already starting to move towards Valeria’s position, but he stopped in his tracks as he heard a signal echo through the comms in his ear! It was a discrete pattern that only members of the Red Skins were meant to know, and once he heard it, he turned around to see that all the other members had also heard the same thing! They were being summoned by their leader!

"Let’s go!"

The elf immediately forgot all about the mission, and he began heading out of the bar! Although the mission was important, the elf knew that the only reason Malovena would summon them was if there was something very serious going on! They had to make sure everything was okay before they continued their mission!

Valeria had been moving towards her seat in the bar when she suddenly stopped as she noticed that the table was empty!

’Where the hell did Jason and Stella go?’

This question passed through Valeria’s mind immediately, but Valeria was even more shocked when she noticed multiple people all leaving the bar at the same time, and once Valeria got a closer look at them, she realised that they were all members of the Red Skin Mercenaries! Malovena’s crew! Valeria’s eyes narrowed in irritation once she saw this! Did Malovena really follow them all the way to the Zeroth Domain!? If she did, then there was a chance Malovena was responsible for Jason and Stella’s disappearance. That would explain why they weren’t at the table!

But at the same time, Valeria knew that Jason was stronger than Malovena, so there was no way they would take him away easily! What the hell was going on here?

Valeria was about to follow the Red Skins out of the bar so that she could confront them about her missing group, but she stopped as she felt a magic signature approaching her from below, and she looked down to see Stella emerging from the shadows.

"What... Stella, where were you? What’s going on?"

Valeria was justifiably confused about everything happening, but Stella just shook her head and told her that she would explain everything later.

"We have to go, Madam Valeria."

"Go? Where are we going?"

Valeria frowned as she asked this, and Stella’s answer shocked Valeria!

"The Red Skins ship at the docking station. You know what it looks like, right?"

Stella said this in a low voice so that only she and Valeria would hear it, and although Valeria was still completely confused about what was going on, she managed to give a nod in response. Valeria had worked with the Red Skins a long time ago, so she had been on the ship and travelled around with them. Of course she knew what it looked like! Stella nodded gladly, and she put her hand out to Valeria.

"We have to head towards the Docking station then. Master Jason will meet us at the ship."

Valeria’s scowl deepened, and for a moment she thought about standing her ground and asking for a proper explanation before anything! But Valeria knew that none of this was Stella’s idea. Jason was the one who told Stella to do all of this, and if it was Jason’s plan, then Valeria knew there had to be a good reason for what he was doing. Valeria decided to just go along with the plan for now and figure out everything else later! Valeria took Stella’s hand, and the two women sank into the shadows and vanished from the Mercenary Bar!

Outside the bar, the dark elf and other members of the Red Skin Mercenaries hurried out towards the loading dock to meet with their captain! The signal that they had received was something that they’d only used very few times in the past, and every time it was used, there was always a very big issue occurring! So the Red Skins had already prepared themselves for a battle the moment they arrived! But as the Red Skins approached the loading dock behind the bar, they were surprised to see their captain standing at one side of the dock and leaning against the wall calmly.

There was an air of nonchalance around Malovena’s body, and the dark elf felt his worry dying out, and he let out a sigh of relief as he continued approaching her.

"Malovena! You called us! What’s happening!?"

The nine members of the Red Skins all gathered around their leader and looked around her expectantly, but Malovena didn’t say anything. Instead, she just looked at them with a calm gaze that put the dark elf on edge. There was a flash of purple light in Malovena’s eyes, and the dark elf actually took a step back as he realised that something was off!

"Malovena?? What happened to -"

Multiple hands appeared from the shadows below, and all nine members of the Red Skins felt their eyes widen in fear as they were pulled down into the shadows!

Jason appeared and walked out from the shadow of the wall behind Malovena, and he waited for a few seconds with a calm look on his face before the shadows bulged again and nine bodies were thrown out to the ground. Since the members of Malovena’s crew were only around TITAN Rank I and II, Jason’s subordinates didn’t even need to put in any effort to kill them, and the Bengari and Machina subordinates assassinated all of them while they were in the shadows. Jason sent a mental order to Malovena, and she immediately stepped forward and put her hand out.

[Remote Resurrection]!

DOON!

The nine bodies all jolted, and in the next moment their souls clawed their way out and went to one knee in front of Jason!

Jason read through the system tab very quickly before turning away from it. There were a few skills that Jason gained as well as some improvements to his stats, but none of the skills were strong or innovative enough to matter, and the improvements were minor, so Jason ignored them.

Once all nine had been resurrected, Jason used his [Necrotic Reanimation] skill to bring their bodies back to life and stored them in his Alternate Dimension, and then Jason gave the order for all of them to head out towards the Hyperdrive Ship parked at the Docking station.

[The Docking Station]

The Docking Station was as busy as ever, with people moving in and out of the Pit with massive ships being parked at various docking areas. At one side of the Docking Station, away from the crowds moving through the station, Stella and Valeria appeared from the shadows, and Valeria folded her hands with an impatient look on her face while waiting for an explanation. Valeria had agreed to come out here with Stella because Stella looked like it was important, but now that they were there, Valeria needed to know what Jason’s plan actually was.
