Chapter 1138: Evelina’s Unexpected Shock

Wilderness (City A)

Governor Evelina was helping out the beast tamers in distress. Her arrival was a secret; she hadn’t informed the other two City Governors.

She was there to conduct her own investigation. As she flew over the core area, her gaze fell on a six-winged butterfly.

The beautiful appearance of the starlight-blue butterfly stunned her. She saw amazing golden patterns running across its wings.

Forgetting about the current situation, she began to observe the area. Near the six-winged butterfly, she saw a fully armored Beast Tamer.

Both of them were at Tier-4 strength. She immediately felt their situation was dire, as three Tier-6 Corrupted Lizards stood before them.

It was dangerous for Tier-4 Beast Tamers to roam there, as it was normal to come across Tier-5 and Tier-6 beasts.

Just as she decided to help them out, she saw something amazing that she would never forget.

The six-winged butterfly vanished from its spot.

When it reappeared, it was already above the head of one of the Tier-6 Lizards. Next, she saw the butterfly beast use its wings to cut into the beast’s neck.

The butterfly beast decapitated the Tier-6 Lizard in a flash. The head of the second beast was severed in a similar fashion.

It all happened in less than a second.

Evelina’s eyes sharpened. She figured out that the butterfly beast was using some kind of speed ability.

Just as she thought the six-winged butterfly was going to slay the third lizard beast, it retreated. To her surprise, the butterfly let the Beast Tamer fight the third beast.

A hint of surprise appeared in Evelina’s eyes.

She then saw something even more shocking. The fully armored Beast Tamer unsheathed his blade to attack.

The Tier-4 Beast Tamer executed a blade technique that clearly belonged to an advanced level. This made the strike even more deadly. The blade cut through the lizard’s defense and severed its blood vessels.

Pfff!

The young Tier-4 Beast Tamer almost completely severed the beast’s neck. The third lizard collapsed to the ground, bleeding.

Evelina couldn’t believe her eyes. The young man was clearly a Tier-4 Beast Tamer, yet he could use an advanced blade skill. She wondered whether he possessed an S-Grade blade talent.

She then saw him make his second move.

Slash!

The blade cut through the remaining part of the neck.

Pfff!

Blood splattered across the ground as the decapitated head rolled away. Blood spurted from the wound, beginning to form a pool around it.

Pfff!

Pools of blood had already formed around the first and second beasts. The nauseating smell of blood attacked their nostrils.

Jeremy then turned toward the six-winged butterfly.

"We have killed a couple of beasts in the last few hours," he said to Stella.

[Yeah, most of them were Tier-6 and Tier-7 beasts,] Stella communicated to him.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night smiled and wiped the blood off his blade before sheathing it.

[Jeremy, be careful. I feel a powerful presence,] Stella communicated to him in his mind.

Hearing this set off a storm in Jeremy’s heart. He had never heard Stella say something like this before. She had previously fought against a Tier-8 Hybrid Bird Beast without fear.

So what was making her afraid now?

"What did you find?" he asked.

The six-winged butterfly was about to reply when-

Swoosh!

Someone suddenly made an appearance. It was a middle-aged woman dressed in a black dress.

Jeremy and Stella turned to face her. It was their first time seeing the woman in person.

However, Jeremy had seen this face before, though he couldn’t remember where. It might have been on the online news. At the very least, she was human, not a Tier-9 Beast.

[Who is she?] Stella asked.

Jeremy calmed his heart and said, "Let her speak."

Both of them then turned their attention back to the middle-aged woman.

Jeremy felt a sense of crisis, but he could tell the middle-aged woman was restraining her strength. Yet, Stella had still managed to pick up on it.

Could her strength be Tier-9? Is she a Lord from the Human Alliance? Many doubts appeared in Jeremy’s mind.

Stella was also looking at the middle-aged woman with surprise. It was her first time witnessing such a powerful Beast Tamer.

She had never felt this much danger from the Tier-8 Hybrid Bird Beast. The middle-aged woman’s energy was off the charts.

Evelina looked back at them, secretly shocked. She felt that both of them were geniuses. It was rare to come across such a talented Beast Tamer and lifeline beast pairing.

She calmed her heart. Realizing the two of them were in shock, she spoke up.

"I am City Governor Evelina. May I know your names?" she asked.

Jeremy sighed in relief. Now he understood where the feeling of danger had come from. She was a City Governor, meaning her strength was at least Tier-9.

Stella also relaxed, as she knew about the City Governors as well.

"My name is Jeremy Night. This is my Starlight lifeline beast, Stella," Jeremy replied.

"A Starlight lifeline beast," Evelina murmured.

Her eyes flashed with understanding. She had heard of many butterfly beasts before, but this was her first time seeing the rare Starlight Butterfly Beast. She then turned toward Jeremy.

"Where are you from?" Evelina asked. "You can fight across Tiers?"

"I’m from the Special Base in the 4th Zone," Jeremy said. "I volunteered for the mission."

"The Special Base," Evelina uttered in surprise.

Any slight resentment she held toward the Special Base disappeared, and her eyes flashed with a hint of approval. She hadn’t expected such a talented Beast Tamer and lifeline beast to come here.

Just then, her senses picked up a strange signal.

She turned to them and said, "Don’t wander around the core area. Go back to the inner lands."

Swoosh!

After saying that, she disappeared from the spot, heading toward the border. Jeremy and Stella looked at each other.

"Since the City Governor herself has come, the situation must be quite dangerous. Let’s go back to the inner area," he said to her.

Stella agreed, and the two of them headed back toward the inner area.
