STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1129: Accepting a Voluntary Mission
Unknown Land
The time came closer to evening. His new strength had stabilized. Eventually, the new rank increased his overall strength, including his physical strength and abilities.
He opened his eyes. He then checked his surroundings before looking at himself. He saw black impurities on his skin. He needed to take a shower.
He then thought of Stella. He checked his mental zone and saw her resting inside. She had given him feedback energy before resting.
He then stood up and walked up to the corpse of the massive Tier-7 Black Panther. He stored the corpse of the Tier-7 Black Panther inside the storage container.
Jeremy then raised his head and looked towards the sky and his surroundings. It would only be a matter of time before nighttime came.
He didn’t know why he thought it was a bad idea to stay here. Especially since their current location was an unknown land, it was even more dangerous to stay.
He had already come across a Tier-7 beast, and the beast Stella had faced might have been a Tier-7 or Tier-8 beast.
He decided to leave. He then recalled the routes to the border in his mind and started using "Feathered Steps."
He moved towards the border using the movement method, crossing many obstacles on the way.
Compared to before, he was covering the ground faster.
One hour later,
He came to the border. He didn’t come across any corrupted beasts, which saved him a lot of time. He didn’t stop anywhere and continued his journey towards the city.
Nighttime eventually came. He came across corrupted beasts this time. He ignored the mid-tier and lower-tier beasts.
But he targeted the Tier-6 beasts. His mission was to collect the corpses of Tier-6 beasts. So, he slashed the Tier-6 beasts and collected their corpses.
His storage ring had enough containers. From time to time, he took short breaks in between. By the time morning came, he had reached the territory of the base.
A few minutes later,
He started seeing some Beast Tamers wandering around the place. He wondered whether the Beast Taming Teams had been given permission to enter the wilderness.
He increased his pace towards the premises. He came to the entrance and walked inside. His gaze swept across the many buildings.
He decided to visit the administration building first. It was still early morning, so the path had fewer Beast Tamers returning.
He came to the administration building. He opened the door and went inside. His gaze swept across the place.
He saw a few elders behind the desk. Among them, he saw Elder Smith. A smile appeared on his face, and he started walking up to him.
He came to the front desk and spoke to Elder Smith.
"Elder Smith, it appears you are half asleep," he said to him.
His voice immediately woke Smith up. He opened his eyes and collected his thoughts. Elder Smith then looked towards Jeremy Night and was taken aback.
"You are back!"
"What about the mission?" Smith asked.
But before Jeremy could say anything, Smith felt the changes in Jeremy’s body. He realized that the young man’s strength had increased.
He was slightly surprised in his heart, but he didn’t ask about the breakthrough. He was glad that the young man had good news in the end.
He had thought Jeremy would be sad because of the outcome with the Beast Taming Association in the third zone.
He then brought Jeremy to another room. It was a wide room, and it was more spacious for assessing the massive bodies of the corrupted beasts.
Under the gaze of Elder Smith, he began to bring out the corpses of the corrupted beasts and placed them on the hall floor.
The corpses included Tier-7 beasts as well.
Elder Smith was not surprised. He felt more regret now. He thought that Lord Rosalie had missed out on a talent like Jeremy Night.
He began to assess the corrupted beasts. He checked the corpses of the Tier-6 and Tier-7 beasts. He didn’t make the young man wait for a long time.
After making the assessment quickly, he said, "Your mission is successful. Your credit and leaderboard points will be credited soon."
Jeremy then thanked Elder Smith before going outside. He headed back towards his own room.
A few minutes later,
He reached his room. After entering the room, he shut the door. He then went to the bed to lie down.
A few hours later,
When it was forenoon, he woke up. He got out of bed, went to the sofa, and sat down.
He greeted Stella, but he saw she was still sleeping inside the mental zone.
He then picked up a device and went through his unread messages and notifications. He saw that the administration had released a new statement.
He began to read the statement. After going through it, he realized that City A was experiencing turbulence. They needed the help of every Beast Tamer in the 3rd zone.
His heart received a big jolt.
"The administration has given a voluntary assignment," Jeremy said to himself.
Some of them had gone back to City A to help out the Beast Tamers in the wilderness. If the beast tamers from the Special base were given permission to leave, it showed that the situation was dire there.
He made a split-second decision to help and decided to go there. He had helped other cities before, irrespective of the zones.
He was going to do the same this time. He made a call to Elder John right away. Elder John answered his call immediately.
"You are awake. I heard you are back from Elder Smith," John replied.
Hearing that, Jeremy said, "I have completed the mission. I just woke up and saw the notification. I have decided to take the voluntary mission."
Silence.
There was silence for a couple of seconds.
"I knew you would make such a decision. No one is going to stop you. You can go there and help. But beware of the wilderness terrain. The landscape there is different."
"They have special places called hotspots. It’s where the concentration of corrupted beasts is higher," John said to him.
He then began to give further inside details. He thought the intel would help Jeremy. He didn’t want Jeremy to be trapped in a dangerous situation.
Jeremy listened to the details carefully.
