STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1113: Part 2: The Final 15 Names
Special Base (4th Zone)
Jeremy Night was in his room. He was lying on the couch, waiting for the update. He didn’t know how many times he had checked the device.
Not only that, Stella was waiting for the update as well.
[When will we hear the news?]
He heard Stella’s voice in his mind.
"Don’t worry. The news will come soon," Jeremy said to Stella.
After saying that, he once again picked up the device to check for an update. He saw that many news posts had appeared.
They were posted by the members. Seeing that, he sat up straight and began to go through the posts.
The posts were about the members visiting the meeting hall. The members who were going to the meeting hall were all Tier-7 Beast Tamers.
Everyone online was discussing that these were the final members selected by the representative of the Beast Taming Association.
Jeremy Night’s heart started beating faster. His mood had turned somber.
Stella, in the mental zone, felt the change in Jeremy Night’s mood. She felt the sorrow as well.
She knew they had expected their names to be included in the list. Stella figured out that things had gone south.
Jeremy Night continued to read the news posts. Lastly, a Tier-6 female Beast Tamer was seen heading to the meeting hall. She was the 15th member.
Apart from her, no one else went inside. The meeting hall door was closed from the outside. No one was allowed to enter now.
Elder Sandra had gone inside the meeting hall sometime earlier, so they had no idea what was going on within.
On the other hand, the elders had fallen silent as well. They never left the office. They had seen the 15 people going inside the meeting hall.
It was enough to confirm that they were the ones who had made it onto the list.
Meanwhile,
Elder John was in his room. He was in a bad mood. Like the others, he had seen the 15 members as well. He knew this would be the outcome.
Yet he still held a sliver of hope in the corner of his heart. He hoped for a turnaround. He wanted the eyes of the Tier-9 Beast Tamer, Rosalie Rose, to notice special talents like Jeremy Night.
In the end, the representative was like the others. She paid attention to the calculations and narratives of the crowd. No one was ready to advocate for unique talents like Jeremy Night.
He then calmed himself. He understood the situation; even for him, it had taken some time to recognize Jeremy Night’s talent.
So it was normal for a representative from another zone not to notice someone like him.
He just didn’t know how to break the news to the young man. He recalled that the youth had been practical when he first heard about the recruitment.
Elder Sandra and he had given Jeremy Night false hope. They had made him believe that he stood a real chance. Now Jeremy Night must be waiting for the results.
He wondered how to face the young man.
Buzz!
Right then, his device buzzed. He picked it up and saw messages sent by other elders.
It was no secret that he had been promoting Jeremy Night. Jeremy Night had even reached the leaderboard rankings because of them.
He saw that Elder Smith and Leah had sent messages as well. A few of their favorite students had made it onto the list.
He then replied, stating that perhaps the next Beast Taming forces might notice Jeremy Night’s talent.
He didn’t mention the backup plan. He already had one prepared, if no one selected Jeremy Night, he and Elder Sandra would use their influence to send him to the 3rd Zone.
...
Meeting Hall
All 15 selected candidates were standing in front of Elder Rosalie Rose. Elder Sandra sat next to her.
Five armored male Beast Tamers sat on the left, while three female Beast Tamers sat on the right.
Everyone was looking toward the 15 Beast Tamers, scrutinizing them from head to toe.
There were eight male Beast Tamers and seven female Beast Tamers, totaling fifteen. Only one of them was a Tier-6 Beast Tamer.
Rosalie observed them. She communicated with her lifeline beast and found that none of them were injured; everyone was currently in peak condition.
Elder Sandra looked at the selected recruits, maintaining a neutral expression. These chosen individuals were now part of the Beast Taming Association in the 3rd Zone.
"You are now part of the 3rd Zone Beast Taming Association. I trust that the information you provided was truthful."
"In particular, that you are not hiding anything regarding your health or the condition of your lifeline beasts," Rosalie said.
Hearing that, everyone’s expression shifted dramatically. One by one, they began insisting that they had hidden nothing.
Rosalie said, "Before leaving this place, there is going to be a short test. The five male seniors will lead eight of you into the wilderness here. They will observe your combat and assess it."
"The three female seniors will do the same for the remaining seven. You may head into the wilderness now and return before midnight," she added.
Hearing that, everyone complied. Ken and the other four Beast Tamers stood up in their full body armor and began walking toward the exit.
The eight selected male Tier-7 Beast Tamers followed behind them.
Rene and her two companions led the female group outside.
Lord Rosalie Rose’s eyes flashed with approval.
Once everyone had left the room, only two remained in the meeting hall.
Rosalie turned toward Elder Sandra and said, "Your base recruited an interesting Tier-4 Beast Tamer."
Elder Sandra felt as if she had been struck by lightning. She had not expected Lord Rosalie to bring him up, even though he was on her mind.
She had wanted to ask, but hadn’t known how to approach the topic.
Rosalie noticed her expression and raised an eyebrow.
She said, "I can tell that the young man is extraordinary, but his tier is too low for our recruitment criteria. Selecting him would cause unwanted individuals to stir up trouble, and I don’t want that."
"The kid is obviously very young. He has years ahead of him. I believe he will stand a better chance next year," she added.
Hearing that, Elder Sandra did not know what to say. She could only nod in response.
