Chapter 1110: Part 1: Rene Takes an Interest

Special Base (4th Zone)

In the meeting hall, Tier-9 Beast Tamer Rosalie Rose was going through the list compiled by Rene. The support-type list had piqued her interest. She was genuinely impressed as well. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

She then noticed that the others were looking at her, eager to know the results right away. Her lips curled upward. She decided to remind them.

"Instead of looking at me, why don’t you check the profiles of the other students?"

"There could be rare talent among them," she added with a smile.

Hearing that, the members began checking the profiles of the other students, understanding the meaning behind her words.

There were some talents who could be recruited even if their tier was low, for example, weapon talents. They had previously recruited geniuses of the sword, spear, and axe.

Although each of them had already prepared a list, they were eager to go through the other students’ profiles.

They knew that special bases only recruited geniuses, and they wanted to ensure they had not missed any interesting candidates. It was entirely possible that another prodigy was among them.

Tier-8 Beast Tamer Rene and her friends were going through the other profiles as well.

Meanwhile, Ken saw that Lord Rosalie was taking her time, so he turned his attention back to his device and began checking the profiles of the Tier-6 Beast Tamers.

Ten minutes later,

Lord Rosalie placed her device on the table before taking the one offered by Ken. She then began reviewing the list he had compiled. As she had guessed, it consisted mostly of attack-type profiles.

As time passed, Rene came across talents similar to those usually found in their own zones. Just then, the friend beside her accidentally opened the gallery.

Seeing this, she was about to close it, but her gaze fell upon a piece of footage. Knowing it was an official device belonging to the elders, she wondered what the recording was doing there.

Driven by curiosity, she opened the file and hit play. The video caught the attention of Rene on her left and the other friend on her right.

Both of them began watching the footage with her. The volume was loud enough for them to hear, yet quiet enough not to disturb the others.

Listening to the conversation, they realized a senior was bullying a junior. The remarks made by the person recording and his friends were captured as well.

Rene raised her eyebrows. She realized that the heavily built middle-aged man was a Tier-7 Beast Tamer, while the person he was bullying was only Tier-4.

"A Tier-4 Beast Tamer?" one of them muttered in shock.

Rene and her other friend exchanged glances. All three of them were completely stunned. They had heard that the special base only recruited Beast Tamers starting at Tier-5.

So, what was a Tier-4 Beast Tamer doing here?

Their quiet exclamation did not go unnoticed; Ken and a few others looked over.

Lord Rosalie paused and turned toward Rene. Seeing the three of them watching something with such keen interest, she was surprised.

Rene and her two friends remained glued to the screen. They watched as the heavily built man, provoked by the crowd, tried to grab the young man’s shoulder in anger.

To everyone’s surprise, the young man displayed extraordinary reflexes. He evaded the grab and slipped past three other people with fluid ease. None of them were able to react in time to stop him.

Even though the Tier-7 Beast Tamers were clearly not using their full strength, stopping a Tier-4 Beast Tamer should have been effortless for them.

Rene was genuinely astonished. She opened the gallery on her own device and played the same footage. She knew that the vast majority of Beast Tamers were physically weak without their lifeline beasts.

Only after crossing the threshold of Tier-5 did their bodies become significantly stronger.

Because of this, Beast Tamers below Tier-5 generally avoided physical combat altogether, even against corrupted beasts. What she was witnessing was an exceedingly rare sight.

Rene slowed the video down, analyzing every movement. Her actions caught the attention of the friends sitting beside her.

A look of understanding dawned on both of them. They knew she had a particular interest in support-type beast tamers and frequently mentored promising newcomers.

She even served as the president of her own community club, which was made up of like-minded support-type tamers.

By now, her friends were not the only ones paying attention. Everyone in the room had noticed Rene’s behavior, including Ken and the other male Beast Tamers.

Seeing everyone staring at Rene, Lord Rosalie spoke up.

"Care to tell me what’s going on here?"

Her voice snapped everyone back to reality. The two female Beast Tamers gently nudged Rene.

Collecting her thoughts, Rene turned toward the room and saw Lord Rosalie and the others looking directly at her.

"Rene, what happened?" Rosalie asked.

Caught off guard, Rene realized she had let her curiosity get the better of her and forgotten her surroundings.

She replied, "My Lord, if you check the gallery on your device, you’ll find a video. I believe it will interest you."

Curious, Rosalie checked her gallery. The others instinctively did the same.

Rosalie found the video and hit play, while Ken and the rest followed suit. This time, Rene watched their reactions closely.

A few minutes later,

Gasp!

Successive gasps broke the silence. The five male Beast Tamers were visibly shocked. Looking back at Rene, they finally understood her reaction.

Ken knitted his brows. He had assumed the Tier-7 Beast Tamers here were competent, but their reflexes were abysmal; they should have handled the situation far better.

"Is this one of those staged videos?" Ken asked.

"If it weren’t real, why would it be stored on an official device?" Rene countered.

Ken was left speechless. They were supposed to be reviewing candidate profiles, yet here they were, dissecting a video clip.

If the elders waiting for their report caught wind of this, they would be utterly stunned.
