STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1094: Adjusting to Newfound Strength
Wilderness (City A)
"Enough with talking. Let’s go," the leader said to them. She could understand that a Tier-4 Beast Tamer was way out of their league.
Beast Tamers who could fight across Tiers could only be found in the special bases.
"Such a talented young man. I wonder which zone he is from?" she thought.
The next second, she shook her head and started taking her team back to the city.
Time passed.
Jeremy Night was getting used to the new strength. Now he felt more independent and free of worries. Earlier, the unknown beast egg form had weighed him down.
Now that worry was gone as well. He was exploring the wilderness with Stella now.
As time passed, the duo came across corrupted beasts. But Jeremy Night told Stella to ignore the Tier-4 and Tier-5 ones.
Hereafter, their goal should be Tier-6 beasts and above. He really wanted to go against a Tier-7 Beast. So far, they had not come across one.
A six-winged butterfly was flying stealthily above the canopies. A human Beast Tamer was following on the ground at high speed.
If other Beast Taming Teams had been here, the scene would have caught their attention.
Meanwhile,
The situation at the hotspots was tense. An intense battle was taking place between the higher-tier Beast Tamers and the higher-tier beasts.
The Tier-7 Beast Tamers, who were city officials from the city office, found that the situation was getting out of hand.
They had been here since last night. They had been trying to control the situation. But the number of higher-tier beasts coming to the hotspots was increasing.
It was taking time for the Beast Tamers to kill the corrupted beasts in front of them. Ultimately, the situation was putting heavy pressure on them.
The city officials had thought their arrival could lessen the burden on the team on the battlefield.
But they were feeling the pressure right now. One of the officials instructed a Tier-6 Beast Tamer with a flying Lifeline beast to report the situation to the city office.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamer left the site. It didn’t take long for him to reach the city. With his bird-type flying Lifeline beast, he reached the city in 30 minutes.
He then landed at the city gate and entered the city. He met with the captain there and requested help. The call was quickly connected to the city office.
The Beast Tamer reported the situation to the officials. They assured him that they would report to the City Governors right away.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamer then went to get some first-aid treatment.
...
Governor’s Office
City Governor Evelina was working in her office. She was going through other reports just as her device buzzed.
She answered the call and listened to the reports from the officials. Her expression shifted dramatically. After hearing the report, she ended the call.
Next, she called Corvin and Garran one by one. She explained the situation to them. Like her, they too suspected a Tier-8 Beast could be lurking.
If a Tier-9 Beast had appeared, their Lifeline beasts would have felt the pressure. Even Evelina’s Tier-9 Lifeline beast hadn’t felt the presence of a Tier-9 Beast.
But a Tier-8 Beast was different. If they wanted, they could have used their Lifeline beasts to find it, but doing so might alert the beast. It would then disappear into the unknown land.
This situation has happened many times before. So it was best for them to catch the beast off guard. City Governors Corvin and Garran decided to head out right away.
...
Time passed.
After a long exploration and search, the duo entered the gloomy area. The plain terrain was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, sharp rocks protruded from the ground. Seeing that, Jeremy Night felt something was amiss.
He felt the same emotion coming from Stella.
"Stella, observe the place carefully," he said to her.
He then used his eye power to zoom in. His gaze fell upon a small hill over 5 meters in height. But the size of the hill seemed weird. It wasn’t an elongated hill.
The surface of the hill ended abruptly. Stella was close to flying across the small hill. Suddenly, her senses alerted her.
She then used her second eye power on the small hill. That was when she saw the truth. It was not a small hill, but a sleeping beast.
Swoosh!
Stella turned around and flew back to Jeremy Night’s side.
[It’s not a small hill, but a sleeping beast.]
Jeremy heard Stella’s voice in his mind. Hearing that, his heart began to race. A sense of crisis surged. The visual of the small hill was bigger than any Tier-7 beast he had seen so far.
His survival instincts kicked in. He recalled his Lifeline beast. The beast returned to the mental zone. Stella wanted to fight alongside Jeremy Night.
But upon seeing the serious look on Jeremy Night’s face, she complied.
Swoosh!
Jeremy Night used Feathered Steps to leave the area. He realized that this gloomy location was the habitat of a Tier-7 beast or it could even be a Tier-8 Beast, though he couldn’t be sure.
Its size was so massive that it might take more than 50 blade slashes just to make it bleed. If it were a Tier-7 beast, he might have taken the risk to try.
But if the beast happened to be a Tier-8 one, their survival would become difficult. Fortunately, the beast was sleeping. It hadn’t sensed the trespassers.
Stella had only recently taken form. He didn’t want her to suffer any injuries so soon. Since they had completed the mission, he made the decision to return.
If Stella wanted to fight against Tier-6 or Tier-7 beasts, he decided he would allow her to do so in the special base.
He decided not to take any risks here, especially since he didn’t know what threats the higher-tier beast tamers were currently facing.
Swoosh!
It didn’t take long for him to leave the vicinity of the small hill. He was now heading back toward the city. He was familiar with the route.
Soon, evening would arrive. He wanted to return to the outer area before night fell.
