STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1053: Part 2: The Uncharted Barren Land
Wilderness (Special Base)
The massive 12-metre gray spider found nothing. It moved to the next bedrock. At the same time, the beast was keeping an eye on the surroundings.
If another vibration occurred, it would know soon.
While exploring the bedrock, it was also waiting for the prey to show up. Its appearance would certainly threaten the prey.
The spider beast was checking around. Suddenly, its senses caught the scent of a human. It was a human odor. It had faced human beast tamers before.
But that was a long time ago. They rarely appeared in this area. The Spider Beast had fought battles before becoming a Tier-7 Beast.
After becoming a Tier-7 Beast, it had never seen one.
Thud!
The massive spider rushed to the source. The eight legs of the spider were moving fast while making a huge noise.
Meanwhile,
Jeremy Night heard the sound as well, as if something were rushing in his direction.
[It’s coming. Get ready for battle. Don’t engage in close combat right away.]
Stella’s voice sounded in his mind.
Hearing that, he turned off the helmet and put it inside the ring and used the second eye power. He saw the massive 12-metre beast coming in his direction.
"Stella was right. It’s a Tier-7 beast," Jeremy thought.
He then took out his handgun and steadily backed away.
Shriek!
The massive gray spider made a weird noise. It confirmed the presence of prey. The prey happened to be a human Beast Tamer.
The beast could not only sense the vibrations, but also saw him with its own eight eyes. After seeing the prey, the speed of the gray spider increased.
Swoosh!
It bolted toward the prey. The wind force generated by its rush swept the terrain on both sides.
Jeremy Night covered his handgun bullets in starlight power. The threads wrapped around the bullets in the blink of an eye.
He then used his eye power to zoom in. He looked at the massive beast. His gaze then shifted to its eight eyes.
He locked onto those eyes. He saw the beast coming at him, but there was still a few-hundred-metre gap between them.
When the beast got inside his shooting range, Jeremy Night pulled the trigger.
Shot!
He fired continuous shots at the incoming beast. He was expecting the bullets to puncture the eyes of the beast.
Swoosh!
The massive gray spider sensed the threat coming at it. Its multiple senses worked. Just before the bullets could reach it, the beast jumped high.
It jumped over 100 feet high into the sky. The starlight bullets went past its previous location.
The beast took time before landing on the ground.
Thud!
The landing impact caused a shock force to spread across the area.
"What’s going on?" Jeremy Night asked.
[The beast has powerful senses and intelligence. It saw through the attack before coming up with a plan.]
Stella said to him.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night looked at his handgun. He put the handgun back in the case. He had thought of using it for a long-range attack.
But the spider beast was evading it. He really didn’t have long-range attack methods. Now, only two options were left for him:
Either run or try a close-combat attack. Jeremy then unsheathed the blade.
He held the blade in his right hand and began to cover the blade’s edge in starlight power.
At the same time, Stellaris was watching everything. She could help again with a psychic attack, but she thought it was going to be good experience for Jeremy Night.
If necessary, she decided to intervene.
Boom!
The massive beast got closer. It finally saw the tiny prey. But instead of running away, the human prey was confronting it.
This enraged the beast. The next second, it moved in a flash to eat the prey in one move.
Alarm!
Jeremy Night’s senses alarmed him. Not only did he see the attack, but he was also facing the pressure coming from the Tier-7 beast.
There was a difference in tiers. There was a massive three-tier gap between them.
Stellaris saw the situation and took the pressure off his body. Jeremy Night felt a cold energy in his body and mind, cooling him down.
He smiled and thanked Stellaris in his mind.
"Explosive Steps"
The spider came at him to devour him. Jeremy Night saw through the intentions of the beast. He bolted out toward its flank.
The force generated at his feet propelled him forward.
Yet the massive gray spider could track it without any problem. For the beast, the speed of the human was still slow.
Swoosh!
Suddenly, one of the eight legs extended to stab the human.
Jeremy Night, who was preparing to swing the blade, felt the danger. His talent kicked in. All of a sudden, he found the movements around him slowing down.
A cold glint appeared in his eyes. Instead of swinging at the body, he turned toward the leg that was coming at him.
"Shadow Slash"
He turned around and slashed the blade at the leg. All of this happened within a couple of seconds.
The massive spider didn’t expect the change. It was caught off guard. The leg was close to the target.
Still, the beast didn’t take the attack of the human seriously. It expected the blade to break before the leg pierced the human’s body.
Slash!
The starlight blade came in contact with the massive leg. The size of the leg alone was twice that of him.
Pfff!
The starlight blade felt no resistance. It easily cut through the skin and flesh. A torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound.
Seeing that, Jeremy swept the blade across the leg.
He was trying to cut the leg off in one move. He almost succeeded.
Boom!
The other legs shot at him. His expression changed drastically. He withdrew the blade and used the movement method again.
"Explosive Steps"
He moved away from the spot. Just then, those legs punctured the ground with heavy force.
Jeremy moved backward to create a huge gap.
"That was risky," Jeremy commented.
[Tier-7 beasts are powerful. You can injure them with my starlight power, but they are still way above your capabilities.]
[If you become a Tier-4 Beast Tamer, your response will be faster. Your attacks might cause severe injury then.]
Stellaris shared her thoughts with Jeremy Night.
