Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door
Chapter 25: What a Good Person
Chapter 25: Chapter 25: What a Good Person
"Really?" Ling Qianjun caressed the black ballpoint pen, unable to put it down. "Thank you, Buwan," he said gratefully.
Hua Buwan figured it was just a ballpoint pen. She had money now; she could afford to give it away.
She waved her hand magnanimously. "It’s nothing. Let’s get back to the medicine..."
After finishing her explanation, Hua Buwan packed the medicines into a small bag for Ling Qianjun. It was enough to last him the next few days.
Carrying the bag, Ling Qianjun reached behind his waist, fumbled for a moment, and pulled out another Jade Ring. He offered it to Hua Buwan. "Here."
Hua Buwan quickly refused. "You’ve given me more than enough before. I won’t take your money this time."
In truth, she really wanted the Jade Ring. It was an antique, after all! It could easily fetch a five-figure sum.
However, she had already made back hundreds, no, tens of thousands of times her initial investment... Her conscience genuinely troubled her, so she painfully decided to waive the transaction fee this one time. Though, she fully intended to charge him next time.
Seeing Hua Buwan shake her head vigorously, Ling Qianjun didn’t insist. His heart swelled with gratitude. He felt that Hua Buwan was truly a good Shopkeeper—one who refused to make a profit even when the opportunity presented itself.
Hua Buwan wept internally, "Boo-hoo, my heart is bleeding. Just this once—I’ll be generous just this once."
Ling Qianjun left with the bag of medicine. Watching the door close, Hua Buwan gathered the remaining medical supplies and tossed them into her dimension.
She glanced around the empty space and realized she needed to buy some shelves. Otherwise, it would be too difficult to retrieve things later.
No sooner said than done!
Exiting her dimension, Hua Buwan immediately grabbed her phone and placed an online order. She bought a hundred units of five-to-six-tier shelves measuring 1.8 by 2 meters, along with a hundred stacks of sticky labels.
With her remaining funds, she stocked up on common herbs and medicines. For restricted drugs, she only bought a small amount to avoid trouble.
By the time she finished, her wallet was empty again. Fifty thousand yuan really didn’t go far.
GRUMBLE.
The sun was up, and Hua Buwan’s stomach had woken up too.
Exhausted, she had no energy left to cook. She simply ordered takeout and waited for the delivery guy to arrive.
About twenty minutes later, a delivery guy in a bright yellow uniform rode his electric scooter right up to the supermarket entrance. Hua Buwan was just getting up to open the door when the scooter skidded during a sharp turn and toppled over sideways.
CRASH!
The delivery guy hit the ground hard.
Just hearing the sound made Hua Buwan wince in sympathy.
After a moment’s thought, she flashed into her dimension, grabbed the bandages and wound-care supplies she had bought at the pharmacy earlier, and opened the door to approach him.
The delivery guy struggled to his feet. His first instinct wasn’t to check his own injuries, but to inspect the storage box on the back of his scooter to see if the food had spilled.
Hua Buwan had ordered a mini-bowl combo—three small dishes and a portion of white rice. With the scooter crashing down like that, some of the sauce had inevitably leaked out of the containers.
Seeing Hua Buwan approach, the delivery guy immediately stood at attention. He carefully handed the bag of food forward. "Miss, your meal spilled a little, but the food itself didn’t leak out or hit the ground. It’s perfectly clean. Could you please not cancel the order?"
As he spoke, he bowed even lower.
Hua Buwan knew all too well how hard delivery workers had it. She smiled gently and replied, "It’s fine, it’s still edible. I won’t cancel the order, and I’ll even give you a five-star review."
"Thank you! Thank you so much, Miss!" The delivery guy bowed gratefully twice in quick succession.
As she took the food, Hua Buwan handed him the medical supplies. "Your hands and legs are scraped and bleeding. Disinfect them and apply some medicine."
The delivery guy looked up at her in astonishment. Bathed in the morning sunlight, Hua Buwan seemed to radiate a holy glow.
His eyes suddenly reddened. "Thank you. You’re a truly good person, Miss."
