Chapter 2207: New Blessing
Chapter 2207: Chapter 2207: New Blessing
The Deity raised its right hand, and a multicolored bubble slowly emerged. The Deity smiled as it gazed at this bubble, even darkness could not suppress the colors of this peculiar creation representing "childhood dreams":
"I once promised you that I would give this to you once you found the truth. Now, it is yours."
The bubble gently floated towards Shard and entered Shard’s chest.
After a brief moment, "She" softly said:
[The newborn children do not know, in their innocence, that their childhood is the happiest time of their life. When standing at the other end of life looking back at their beginnings, who knows how many will smile, how many will weep, and how many will yearn to return to those slightly troublesome but sweet and sour times.]
[Outlander, you have felt the "miracle."]
[Outlander, you have gained a new blessing - Childhood Dream. When you fall into dreams, the beautiful and innocent power will help you through difficulties.]
Although this blessing was somewhat vague, since it was a constant permanent blessing, Shard liked it very much.
"Thank you for your help."
He bowed to the Deity in gratitude, and the Deity pointed to the pitch-black undulating sea surface:
"Go for one last fishing attempt. The direction to leave is above. I will guide you with a ray of light, fly upwards and bring them to touch that glimmer."
Shard thanked again and held Miss Eles’s hand, preventing her from hiding behind him:
"God, you have saved this newborn child. May I ask if you are willing to let her become your believer?"
The witches naturally understood what Shard meant, and the somewhat naive blue-eyed girl was surprised but did not oppose Shard’s idea.
The Deity, in the form of a child, still maintained a smile:
"I do not forbid anyone from believing in me, nor do I oppose anyone praying to me, just as the three ladies behind you once did in their childhood... this is the freedom of mortals."
Even if Miss Eles didn’t quite understand the significance of this, after Shard gently squeezed her hand, she still cautiously said to the Deity:
"I am willing to believe in you... Thank you for awakening me from the dark, dreamless world."
"You have more than just me to thank, may you also become the final ark of this dark world."
The Deity bestowed its blessing and indicated that Shard could begin the final fishing.
So, Shard bent down to pick up the slender fishing rod and then looked at the girls around him. Golden-haired Miss Teresa, Maid Miss Maxim, somewhat white-haired Professor Ivins, and black-haired Miss Eles, all four extended their hands to hold the fishing rod together with Shard. After Shard nodded, they stood straight on the floating board, under the oppressive black sky, and cast the hook into the turbulent sea.
The "plop" sound of the hook entering the water was completely drowned out by the wind and rain. Yet moments later, a tremendous force from the ocean nearly pulled the five of them into the sea together.
Thick steam mist appeared above the heads of the five, with humming bell sounds and steam whistles finally overpowering the wind and rain sounds for the first time. Within this steam mist, the Twelfth Rank, Eleventh Rank, and Tenth Rank golden stairs extended layer by layer towards them from behind, and in the direction of the stairs, three brass rings spun rapidly, pierced through by the three golden stairs one by one.
The rotating Rings of Fate collided and sparked off each other, and at the end of the third golden stair, in the densest part of the steam mist, a gigantic seven-ring Ring of Fate, crisscrossed with golden cracks, was simultaneously pierced by the three golden stairs, seeming as though the end point of those stairs was Shard’s Ring of Fate.
The glow of the golden stairs and the Ring of Fate finally illuminated everything on the floating board for the first time. The combined spellcasting power of the five people, at this moment, began to shake the immense force originating from the ocean floor.
Eventually, as the light above them became brighter and brighter, as the five retreated step by step, the fishing line gradually rose from the water, until the tallest mast finally emerged from the pitch-black sea surface.
"Everyone pull together, it’s coming out!"
With Shard’s voice, the five of them once again pulled back with force. At this moment, the fishing line, which initially wasn’t very long, seemed to extend infinitely. As the mast and the giant chimney gradually emerged, the shadow of the deck finally appeared beneath the water.
A constant rumble came from the ocean floor, and in the originally completely dark sky, several black lightning bolts suddenly streaked across. The rain grew heavier and heavier, and the entire lightless world seemed to tremble due to their actions.
Shard regretted not transforming Mia back into a toy beforehand at this moment. But he couldn’t free his hands now, as the "Power of the Red Dragon" was pushed to its limit, he felt like he was squeezing every inch of muscle and every bone in his body to generate power.
Finally, the enormous cruise ship "Radiant Messenger," which had sunk in the Sea of Darkness, floated entirely out of the ocean. The whole ship was intact, and when that colossal entity floated beside the small float board, it was like an ant standing next to a mountain range. As the ship tilted towards the float board with the surge of waves, even Professor Ivins wanted to flee immediately.
The grandeur of the cruise ship needed no further description; the standing masts, smoke billowing chimneys, towering hull, and densely layered portholes spoke volumes. It was worth mentioning that the ship seemed alive at this moment, the surface covered with delicate dragon scale marks, and a pair of massive wings in a curled state on both sides of the deck.
"These weren’t originally on the ship."
Professor Ivins explained breathlessly, Shard nodded and turned towards Miss Eles. The blue-eyed girl closed her eyes, and as her false body disintegrated into sea water, her soul transformed into a light that entered the enormous cruise ship.
Ang~
A nearly heart-stopping sound for Shard resonated from deeper in the ocean, followed by the already turbulent dark seawater suddenly vibrating as if boiling.
With the first tentacle, as tall as a sky-reaching column, rising from the sea that couldn’t be clearly seen or even looked at closely, everyone understood that the Evil of the Deep Sea - Seven-Tailed Player, had awakened as well.
The densely swollen human hands, finally at this moment, stretched out of the sea surface from the seabed. Driven by the evil object’s power, thousands of swollen hands continually slapped the pitch-black sea surface, creating a melody surprisingly pleasant amidst the stormy wind and rain.
"Cover your ears, hurry up and go!"
Professor Ivins shouted loudly, grabbing Miss Teresa with his left hand and Miss Maxim with his right. Upon noticing Shard’s hand on her shoulder, the four turned into a not-so-bright white light and flew towards the giant cruise ship’s deck, leaving the deity picking up the fishing rod still sitting on the float board, watching them in the dim campfire glow.
At this time, the shaking sea had already made the "Radiant Messenger" itself shake more violently. After the witches and Shard steadied themselves on the deck, Miss Eles’s figure appeared in front of them as if from thin air:
"Please help me defend against attacks from below, hold steady, we’re about to depart!"
As the wings on both sides of the ship transformed into unfolding large blue dragon wings, the cruise ship left the water and flew skyward without warning.
Professor Ivins shouted a spell without thinking, raising his hands upwards, and a golden shield glowing with glimmers instantly enveloped the top of the cruise ship, followed by three streaks of black lightning plummeting from the dark sky.
In the thunderous sound, although the professor’s shield wasn’t broken, the previously stable flying "Radiant Messenger" began to shake violently. Meanwhile, the elongated tentacle shot from below that couldn’t be seen from everyone’s perspective, clinging directly onto the deck in the rain, firmly grasping the ship and trying to drag the entire vessel back downward.
"Miss, Mr. Hamilton, quickly cut it off!"
Miss Maxim urgently said, and after the golden greatsword appeared in the Maid’s hands, she leapt and cleaved the tentacle into thirds; this Arcane Technique was clearly the "Sunlight Greatsword."
Miss Teresa did not advance but instead recited words from a verdant-colored book summoned from the void, a type of spiritual weapon. As she chanted the spell words, various positive enhancements were constantly added to the witches and Shard.
No one withdrew their Golden Stairs and Ring of Fate, and as the three High Rank witches cast spells simultaneously, the erupted glimmer on the deck was almost blinding.
Yet this was still insufficient; the appearance speed of the tentacles below and the strike speed of the lightning from the sky far exceeded everyone’s defensive limit. Following another "boom" sound, as if a shell from the ocean hit the right side of the cruise ship, Miss Eles, who was struggling to maintain control of the flying ship, groaned, and the ship began tilting downwards.
"Damn it!"
"I’ll protect the bottom, Miss Eles, fly upwards quickly!"
Shard withdrew the Moonlight Greatsword from his hand, no longer caring about the tentacles at the deck’s edge. As he spoke, he forcibly turned Mia into a toy, and not heeding Miss Teresa’s obstruction, he jumped directly from the deck towards the pitch-black sea covered with swollen human hands.
In the next second, brilliant silver moonlight rose from below the ship. Before the witches could react, the astonishing dragon roar unexpectedly drowned out the increasingly loud evil object’s song.
Ang~
With wings flapping, first the glowing dragon head, then the entire body emitting gentle moonlight, the dragon appeared beside the "Radiant Messenger." Not only Miss Teresa, Miss Maxim, and Miss Eles but even the well-informed Professor Ivins were stunned:
"Dragon Transformation Spell? Wait, what species of dragon is this?"
