Chapter 826: Chapter 823 Compromise

In the Chaotic Lands, within Bella’s territory.

Bella was currently inspecting her territory, with Nancy and Obi trailing by her side.

Nancy and Obi had returned from Sedona City to the Chaotic Lands two days ago, bringing back one thousand spears and one thousand sets of armor. This made Bella exceedingly happy. She immediately had them distributed and ordered the commencement of training.

"Boss, do you think it’s possible to open a pizza shop in our territory?" Obi suddenly asked, looking at the shops lining the territory’s streets.

"Impossible," Bella replied calmly.

"Why?" Obi was taken aback.

"Because I haven’t eaten it," Bella looked at Obi with a deadpan expression.

"What about a steamed bun shop?" Nancy probed cautiously.

"Impossible, because I haven’t eaten it," Bella’s eye twitched slightly.

"..." That same sentence made Nancy give up completely.

"Actually, Boss Bella, if you have the chance, you really should visit Sedona City," Nancy suggested from the side. Having been to Sedona City twice, the impact it had on him was still massive.

"If I leave, who will guard this place? What if someone attacks our territory the moment I step out?" Bella fired back two questions in succession.

"..." Obi and Nancy fell completely silent.

Bella wasn’t wrong. If she left, no one else had the confidence to lead the territory’s people to resist an enemy assault.

"However, this Sedona City you speak of is quite impressive," The corners of Bella’s lips curled up faintly. She was praising Lucas for taking in the more than ten thousand beastkin.

Currently, there were no idle beastkin left in her territory. Previously, the streets were filled with beastkin sitting or lying around, waiting to be fed. After sending them all to Sedona City, the place felt much emptier.

As for the beastkin who stayed behind, they were all sent to mine. If they didn’t work, they didn’t eat.

"This is all thanks to Miss Ayesha’s suggestion," Nancy sighed emotionally.

"Hmph, her brain was only useful that one time," A smile surfaced on Bella’s face, though her words remained as unforgiving as ever.

"Huh, is the Boss praising Miss Ayesha? This is the first time I’ve ever heard that," Obi exclaimed, starting to jeer.

In his memory, Ayesha had grown up entirely under Boss Bella’s ’strict education,’ and he had never once heard a word of praise.

"No canned fish for you tonight," Bella shot him a glare.

"Boss Bella, y-you can’t be this cruel..." Obi wailed miserably.

Bella ignored his complaints. He wasn’t getting any canned fish tonight anyway. Besides, he had eaten plenty in Sedona City; she might as well keep it for herself.

She certainly wouldn’t admit that she was deliberately hoarding her subordinate’s rations.

But then again, that canned fish really is delicious, Bella thought to herself, secretly swallowing a mouthful of saliva.

"How is the knights’ training with the new weapons coming along?" Bella suddenly put on a serious face as she looked at Obi.

"They are already very familiar with them. They are ready to deploy at any time," Obi hurriedly straightened his posture, a trace of fighting spirit flashing in his eyes.

"Excellent. Notify them to be ready for battle at all times," Bella’s expression was calm, but a sharp gleam flashed through her eyes.

Indeed, Bella planned to expand her territory. She was going to seize land from those human noble City Lords to develop her own forces.

She had originally intended to do this a long time ago, but it had been delayed all this time waiting for the spears and armor purchased from Sedona City to arrive.

"Boss Bella, I think it would be more prudent to train for two more days before marching out," Nancy quickly interjected. She was genuinely afraid Bella would rush into battle recklessly to conquer human territories.

"Mhm, then we’ll train for two more days," Bella nodded. She was still willing to listen to the opinions of Nancy, her strategist.

"But..." Obi wanted to say something else, but Nancy stomped heavily on his foot, instantly forcing the words back down his throat.

"Are steamed buns really that delicious?" Bella suddenly asked.

"Delicious! They’re the absolute best when they’re piping hot," Obi replied eagerly.

"Is that so? Maybe you were just too hungry," Bella cast a sideways glance at Obi.

"..." Obi stared blankly. What kind of reaction is that?

"..." Nancy felt speechless. Boss Bella was clearly very curious and wanted to eat them, but she was just too stubborn to admit it.

A flash of wisdom glinted in her eyes as she whispered, "Steamed buns are fragrant and soft, and the meat inside is so juicy. One bite, and..."

"..." Bella looked at Nancy, pursed her lips, and her throat bobbed.

"Boss Bella, actually, if we mention it to Miss Ayesha, I think Lucas would be willing to send someone to open a steamed bun shop in our territory. We wouldn’t even need them to leak their secret recipes to us," Nancy, noticing Bella’s temptation, hurriedly proposed the idea.

"And a pizza shop," Obi quietly chimed in from the side. He still preferred pizza a bit more.

"..." Bella silently looked at the two and remained quiet.

"Boss Bella, what do you think?" Nancy smiled brightly at Bella, waiting for her answer.

"Fine. Write a letter to Ayesha. As for whether it works, that will depend on whether Lucas is willing," Bella rubbed her temples. Her territory really needed some changes. Otherwise, what if the remaining people all ran off to Sedona City?

After all, there were no delicacies like steamed buns or pizza here. Given the nature of beastkin, the temptation of food was simply too great for them.

Sometimes they would even willingly become slaves to humans just for a meal. That was something Bella never wanted to see.

"Yes!" Obi cheered, his face full of excitement. In the future, if he wanted to eat steamed buns or pizza, he wouldn’t have to travel all the way to Sedona City.

"Lucas will probably agree. After all, making money is making money, no matter where it is," Nancy said with a broad smile, feeling joyful internally as well.

"If the steamed buns aren’t as delicious as I imagine, you’re both dead," Bella glared at the two, feigning a vicious tone.

"They won’t be. As long as you eat steamed buns and pizza, you’ll never forget the taste for the rest of your life," Obi patted his chest, guaranteeing confidently.

"I remember there are also noodles and barbecue..." Nancy probed tentatively.

"No," Bella rolled her eyes. Did they really think Lucas was family?

But then again, if that human Lucas was really as good as Ayesha said, having him become family actually didn’t seem too bad.

Bella didn’t know when it started, but she seemed to hold far less prejudice against Lucas she had never met.

Just the fact that he was willing to take in the beastkin and supply weapons for support completely overturned her impression of him.

"...."

"When you sprinkle Sedona City’s special spice powder on barbecue and take a bite..." Nancy took a deep breath, continuing to tempt her.

"No."

"Mutton noodles..."

"No."
