SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 796: Administrator?
"Just stop what you are doing!" La Rocha screamed.
"NO!" Damon shouted back.
"Get out of my way or I will fucking blast you all the way straight to hell!"
La Rocha groaned. "You moron. I understand that you can power up, but do you really think you can power up enough to take down a fucking God? You need to stop and listen to me. You only have seconds left. It’s already too late to save this world, but you can still save yourself and your clan."
"Hey, I would love to see you rot and get obliterated. Trust me, but I am not yet healed, and I cannot fall into the hands of the assholes who are about to step into this world. So this is me trying to save both our asses. Now would you please just cut it out and listen to me!"
"Before your tutorial mark disappears, touch it and try to get in. You are already in B rank. You should definitely meet her if you do."
Damon flashed his eyes open. "...Her?"
La Rocha nodded furiously.
"Yes, her!"
"The only person in the entire cosmos who might actually be able to help you."
Another pulse erupted from the abyssal node. The heavens trembled. The pressure doubled once again. Far beyond Earth’s atmosphere, one after another, terrifying auras began descending toward the planet.
They had arrived.
La Rocha’s expression turned uglier by the second.
"They’re already crossing the boundary!"
"We’re out of time!"
"You have to listen to me now. Otherwise it is too late."
Damon gritted his teeth. Entering the tutorial world again meant walking straight into the world where two powerful freaks were waiting to slaughter him. But he was out of options. Even though he had absolutely no trust whatsoever in La Rocha, this was the only option in front of him. He couldn’t not give it a try.
He activated the mark on his wrist once again. Surprisingly it was still working.
"Call for the administrator! Call loudly and powerfully!" La Rocha’s voice resounded in his ears as he once again appeared within the earth online world.
For a second, Damon fully expected the old man and the woman in the abyss to come in front of him but shockingly there was a very different scenery unfolding before him.
Damon was in a weird white space. There were white walls all around him, at least something that looked like walls. White floors, white ceiling, everything around him was white. Was he trapped somewhere? Or perhaps...
Snapping him out of his thoughts, all of a sudden a white door formed on one of the white walls. The door abruptly opened with a creak and a dazzling elegant figure flew in.
Damon’s eyes flew wide. The person in front of him was none other than the beautiful fairy who greeted everyone when they teleported to the game world for the very first time.
"Hello, BloodGod, we meet again." The fairy smiled warmly, the same gentle smile Damon remembered from the very beginning of Earth Online.
Back then, she had appeared no different from an ordinary guide NPC. Now... Looking at her again, Damon immediately realized just how wrong he had been. He couldn’t sense her. Not even a little.
His Primordial Senses, capable of spanning an entire planet, simply slid past her as though she didn’t exist. She stood right in front of him, yet his senses insisted the room was empty.
Damon’s expression became serious. "Who are you?"
A faint chuckle escaped the fairy’s lips. She gracefully floated closer before extending a delicate hand. "My name is Iris. I am the Administrator of Earth Online."
"Administrator... So you really exist?"
"Yes. I do. I am the overseer of everything that happens within Earth Online. I imagine you have many questions." The fairy smiled.
Seeing the woman smile casually after everything that had gone down... Damon’s face changed. His eyes turned cold. "Yes, I do." He wanted to add another word but he controlled himself.
"If you are the overseer of everything that happens within Earth Online, then tell me how the hell did you let my god damn world get sucked into the abyss? Aren’t you supposed to be helping us? Isn’t your whole purpose to train us to face the new reality?"
"I simply observe. I don’t manage." The fairy smiled again.
Then suddenly Damon thought of something. "You don’t manage? Then what about my poison vials? Wasn’t it you who intervened?"
The fairy’s face changed slightly. "That was... a special circumstance."
Damon immediately caught the hesitation. "So you can interfere."
"I can." She admitted it without trying to deny it. "But only under extremely specific conditions."
"My entire world is going to be destroyed and this is not a specific condition?"
"That is not something that concerns me."
"Okay. But you can still help right? You are supposed to help us." Damon had a feeling where this conversation was headed to but there was no other way. He needed to do something here. Otherwise, it would simply be too late for everything.
"Come on. If you hadn’t interfered with my poison, that old man wouldn’t be chasing me right now. I could have dealt with the woman in the abyss too. Things wouldn’t have become this bad."
The fairy simply shrugged. "Your poison, or rather that item spirit’s poison, was something that did not belong in this world, and hence I destroyed it. If your item spirit ever steps inside my world, I would destroy it as well. Beyond that, what happens is none of my concern."
"But isn’t the abyss going to destroy your world?"
The fairy smiled casually again. "Nothing is eternal in this cosmos. Everything is born. Everything flourishes. And eventually... everything dies. If this world falls today, another world will rise tomorrow. If your world perishes, another civilization will eventually take its place. The cosmos has never lacked life."
Damon clenched his fists. He knew it. This was not going to be easy, but then again, he was also not prepared to give up so easily.
For the next several minutes, Damon tried arguing with the woman in many different ways.
"How about compensating me with a legendary gear set?"
The fairy smiled and simply shook her head.
"Maybe you can freeze the abyssal invasion and give our world some time to prepare for what’s coming?"
"I cannot do that. I cannot favor any world. I am merely an observer."
"Could you then at least get rid of the two people who clearly don’t belong in the Earth Online world?"
Once again, the fairy shook her head. "What must come undone, will come undone."
Damon relentlessly pestered her, but to no avail. After a few seconds, he had to give up. There was simply no time. Every moment he spent with this woman was a moment he was not spending on something useful. This woman simply wanted to watch their world burn.
"Fuck it." Damon finally gave up and teleported back out of the world. Plan A did not work. Plan C was straight up fighting against gods with his dick out. That left him with Plan B, something that might or might not work. But this was the only weapon now left in his arsenal.
