"I’m fine," Evelyn shook her head.

She tried to put on a brave front, "Anyway, I’ve always comforted myself like this! It’s not that they don’t want to acknowledge me; it’s that they have their own unavoidable difficulties. Thinking this way makes me feel a little better."

"You..." Caden’s eyes were filled with deep complexity, "Do you really want to see your adoptive big brother?"
